The Insignificance of Man

Blunt deadly weapons of mass destruction
electrify, fracture, and
jeopardize *****Sapiens
species (and entire biosphere)
continuity rent asunder

doomsday declared (nuclear winter
gallows humor spelt
with eternal snow day)
dystopian authors outflanked
nuclear fallout wreaks worst

rocky horror picture
effected upon mankind
global (worldwide)
big screen radioactive
wee willy weber webbing

materiel severely seared
sepsis poisons deoxyribo
nucleic acid future generations
organic fiber cursed
simultaneous single simulcast

broadcast airs live after Royal Wedding
audience participation demanded
bumping ugly fleshless
formed fruitless fatal fumes
anomalies all – blinded

beastial begotten bemoan
brethren brood
brutal burnt offerings
crackling, snapping,
and popping surreal muck

shapeless liquified populace
sloshing helter skelter
quests slither towards
aimless destination
bone a fied skeleton crews cruise

crying cretins creep cavalierly
crepuscular cratered city
cruel mushroom clouds
cloaked croaking cellophane charred
cancerous clumps career,
clomp continuously
chaos charts choking climate
cold comfort commanded collusion
commander in chief concurred

crumpled coveted constitution credo
crass conceit communicated
cooly came clean concerning
consensual coital cavort
crazy cream craving characterized

condoned combined crunching

contractual commingling
cashiered coverup

chic chica chick
cigerette chewing
clutched cocked club

to regularly broadcast program
the sea son finale
last chapter of human race

no winners, nor survivors
bleak contaminated Earth gasping
heaving jackknifed lost in vape
nonpareil planet reduced to vapor!

Signs of Shoe Soul Designs In the Soft Sand

Fashion shoe treads imprinted on the bisque beach
global longtitude/latitude design airborne print in flight
Honeycomb print slowly pacing synchronising footsteps
Concentric wave prints grouping Fine detail pattern soul
beside clearly printed diamond fishbone sports design
Heavily studded trail souls tread along large paw prints
Simply dotted aerobic shoeprint next to little dog paws
A new soft pink fluffy seaweed floats in lacy ocean foam
Large horseshoe prints clomp digging deeply in the sand
Smaller horseshoes gather meeting near a water trough
Fresh green seagrass clumped like freshly cut long lawn
cradles long ball strands of yellow ochre squirting beads
Bare feet touching soft sticky sand immersed wet in water
Naked footprints side by side breathing beach vibrations
Two lovehearts drawn in the light brown sand interlocked.
Sandcastles decorated with shells sit sturdily on the shore.

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Gugu and Momo

shared a strange reality made from footsteps
the land of spirit being open to improvisation
with existence a fountain of plenty for all
too much meaning too much of the time
is it not true to the self of selves that
suffering to one is suffering to all
they patiently awaited the great emancipation
which had been delayed more than once
due to their sharing the long end of the telescope
and other subjects that must never be spoken of
a non accomplishment of great relevance
life being a charade a painted wooden pony
whose surprise discovery was immanent
due to its continents of piled bones
ticking and tocking the smell of sulfur
Gu and Mo expectantly gazed edgewise
into the murk of their own apparition
which was clomp clomping nearer and nearer
beset by dread they clutched close
and waited for the final tap on the shoulder
hello bright pilgrims it was Calliope
muse to the amused and the wretched
a necessary duet if the one is to survive the other
she was an enduring oasis of song
in a measureless rattlesnake desert
planets and their luminous suns
capered about her ruby lit hair
drink from my breasts children she rued
you have just begun your confluence of chance
to wrench the Earth from its socket
a darkest lamentable catalog of crime
GuGu and MoMo gripped one another
eyes frozen for all time wide open
how can this be Mo went Gu
thank the nice lady Gu went Mo
and they both came to the mutual agreement
 that they should start counting.

The Arrival of Justice

she cowers in the corner
when he comes home the
mere clomp of the boots
make their way to the room
wherein she is hiding her
breathing rapidly increasing
her heart thumping louder
than his footsteps growing
closer while she tries to
work out her next move she
is pulled out from under
the bed by her ankles what
happens next you imagine
in your worst terror if you
can picture a glass bottle
being forcefully thrown
point-blank at a plane of
brand-new asphalt smashing
splintering all over the place
cutting slicing hurting
maiming everything in its
path the shards never to be
removed but instead to inflame
infect to etch permanent
physical scars in her skin to
mirror to echo the emotional
the mental scars vibrating
maddening throughout her
body the cycle continues
day after day week after
week year after year the
whole while making any
possible memory of what
he was before it all began
when she swore herself to
him when they smiled
together when the proverbial
demons were nowhere to
be seen yet now they are
all that she sees without a
free moment to breathe
anything but fear sadness
blood still caked on the side
of her cheek she slides
quicker quicker quicker
into the red the darker the
color as the pain explodes
in her brain as each day’s
torment torture brings
what she never thought
possible a new surprise of
momentously malicious
proportions until she breaks
like the glass he broke a
hundred thousand times
she closes her eyes grips
whatever is heavy blunt
sharp killing device with
both hands comes crashing
down hard swift powerful
with every bit of strength
that she has inside her that
she has kept pent up inside
the whole while she has been
beaten beaten beaten for
years now always covering
up her wounds sharing not
a second of her story to
anyone always lying to her
best friends her family now
all ending all wrapping up
the story when his head
smashed like glass spattered
gushing flowing a maroon
pool all over the floor she
drops the instrument of her
freedom from him her freedom
from all the pain she lifts her
head she does not cry a
tear for all her tears have been
cried out she leaves the room
in silence a silence so sweet
it sings a million new melodies
which illustrate the possibility of
a new beginning.

Premium Member Quebec City

Through the cobblestone roads they walk
with feet so light and hearts so bright
along the path where passion sizzles love
it is a prelude to dismember by the hour ;
Fine china dishes and silent forks await
outside the window, a horse passes by
clickity clack clomp clickity clack clomp;
They are dreaming of their future
in Quebec City that place of old
where open rustic gates are a sign
of new beginnings;
The waiter speaks with a sweet mix of
English-French and savoire faire;
The grateful feast begins
fullant plates of pasta so divine
that when the hour is over, all they
do is lay supine:
"Embrasse moi mons cherie "
he leans over and kisses her softly
then feathers her body with a brush
of his hand , downy soft and warm
no words are needed.

Premium Member The Motel Goodrest

With plates and words in anger flying
My wife and I now deem it best
To cease all our screaming and crying
As I check into the Motel Goodrest

I arrive and plop down for a blissful night
But for two hours a car’s engine revs; varoom!
Above me screeching shouts; a lover’s fight
And the loud thumping of the bed in the next room

A frantic eeeouu; a cayote cat snack?
Now the zzz-zzz of a neon sign on the blink
If I had any brains I’d start to pack!
But I sigh aaah; into slumber I sink

Sun shines through the drapes and onto the wall
There’s splish-splashing in the motel pool
It was a calm, restful night after all
Yipee! Now everything’s cool!

I hear a loud clomp-clomp; what now?
There’s a moo so low and mournful
Through the window peers the eyes of a cow
Looking a bit weary and scornful

I pack and flee as if for my life
Passing the cow whose bell clangs and claps
I check out and meekly return to my wife
And spend the weekend taking naps

Premium Member Sounds of the Subway

Whip, click, clip, umbrellas flatten near the stairs
Stomp, slap, clap, echo footsteps here and there
Rumble, rattle, honk! goes the subway along the tracks
“Hey”, “Wait”, “No!”, voices shouting are just the facts.

Scrape, screech, hiss, loud noises of metro brakes
Clack, shudder, ping! sounds the electric doors make
Clamp, clomp, pound, as the people stamp inside
Whoosh, whisk, hummm, as we take our subway ride.

THE TEMPEST

Before the tempest nothing moves,
Goose bumps shiver my flesh.
Before the clomp of horses hooves,
The storm’s about to thresh.
Trees shake their heads like ceiling fans,
Tear drops splatter with clapping hands.
Trees shake their heads,
Trees shake their heads...
We wonder what the tempest plans!

Screams - howling wind at summer’s moon,
The wolves do not relent.
June’s breaking limbs, my life it’s strewn -
Storm seeks my soul’s repent.
Pounds in my ears! The drums I hear...
Tortured tympan, it’s death I fear.
Pounds in my ears,
Pounds in my ears…
Torrent of night, oh disappear!

A river passes by my home,
And rainbow’s overhead.
O Son, I pray your peace to come,
Free from the sin I dread.
My youth reborn, my verdant hope -
Virgin Violets thrive, washed with soap.
My youth reborn,
My youth reborn…
God’s calming word, taught me to cope.

Under the Shed

Under the shed is a groundhog,
Living without my consent.
Once in a while he emerges;
His presence I’ve come to resent.

Likely he’s dug a deep burrow
And most of the time he’s away.
I don’t think that I can evict him;
It seems like he’s planning to stay.

In previous years we’ve had foxes,
With kits that would frolic and romp,
But this year we’re stuck with a groundhog,
Whose lumbering gait’s more a clomp.

The City On the Hill

we’re taught to want the city on the hill
to live there, to reign there,
to step on everyone else’s back on the
way there---
we’re taught to strive for a place amongst the
star studded eyes
the life we see in celluloid
not the one that we actually have,
so that every day is one dissatisfied with
something & therefore,
to struggle struggle struggle &
only worry about ourselves & the making of the
green,
keeps us silent (so as to not rock the boat) &
“properly motivated”
(eyes on the “prize” so we’re distracted from everything else),
and just what is the prize?
did we learn it in kindergarten? even earlier?
at what point in the formative years do the caregivers,
whomever they might be,
beat the message home
that to swim astray is to live astray & to live astray is to die astray & alone,
so best to not do anything that you aren’t
told?
and good little citizens
like horses at the park
tied to the carriages with blinders on both sides of our heads
keeping us tied up &
keeping us focused ahead on one goal & one goal only
we clomp ahead
whilst someone who has even reached that point of
disgusting submission
scampers along behind with a itty bitty shovel
scooping up our ****.

Premium Member Halloween Night

Come we're gonna have a party wear a costume bring your cat
The cauldrons ready so don't tardy bring your Hocus Pocus hat

Grab some munchies at the door moaning sounds all that gore
It is Aldo playing Rambo, with scary spiders, hiders , ..more

Moon is grinning ear to ear but don't fear, its eyeball leer
Zombie stomps and gettish romps, Halloween is here to peer

Riser ghosts in scary training with their chit-chit chitty fangs
Bow to Satan and his laughs, he's a bad ass dude with bangs

Come on join the party, we got so much willies and dillies

Grab the coffin shaped candy from the grab bag join the clomp

Hooves and Wheels

Can I say this is a Friesian,
that one a Hereford?
I lived so long in a town
and can say I have forgotten
my recollection as I wander in streets
among cars and bikes.

And yet am I so much missing
beings with four legs,
and those hooves that clomp
when stomping in the road,
ambling from one of those green fields -
chewed down a little now -
to another;
beings with their beauty,
yes, beauty that moves with abundant grace?

After the Cyber Dating

Erotic prayers are typed like tattoos
on her virtual skin. She clutches at this man;

prints his likeness under her tongue. His words
are as close as a bedtime story told to her flesh.

An fleshy fruit grows ripe, tactile,
Wet desires hung from neuronal dendrites.

They meet at the verge of a vision,
still conversing to distant screens
yet now on a real-life set.

Motel doors slam. Guests clomp
and call through echoing corridors.
From each side of twin lamps,
they lay tongue-tied. Tangled sheets
their only eloquence.

Later, they lose each other
as bats will
when caught in the glare of the sun.
