I feel a sense of déjà vu as I listen
to the cacophony of voices:
dilettantes discussing poetry 
under baroque chandeliers. Masquerading 
as avant-garde writers or bona fide critics 
(black turtlenecks; color is an anomaly and suspicious), 
they claim carte blanche to spew 
pompous platitudes,
pronounce entire oeuvres...

Seeking the wisdom

Raising the arms,
Spreading the wings,
Hearing the music
That deep in us sings.

Stepping the dance,
Chanting the song,
Feeling the sisterhood
Tender and strong.

Calling the blessing
And lighting the flame.

Petals offer

Fulfilled

Full rich
Long summer days
Hotter

Hot days
Of late summer
Cooler

Cool days
Transform trees to
Bright glow

Glowing
Leaves of Autumn
Soon fall

Falling
Bright leaves become
Dried life

Lifeless
Winter chill brings
First snow

Snowfall
Brightens Earth with
Whitewash

White snow
Spreads marshmallow
Splendor

Splendid
Holiday time
