Your feathered words arrive tickling my ears
The tip of your nose brushes
The back of my neck
My skin awakens

I have been calling you
Calling you back into my consciousness
My heart
My soul

Speak to me.... let me hear you
Your deep voice
Your warm breath
I feel you on my cheeks

Memories of our times together
Dancing in the raindrops
Naked...laughing
Warm pink drops
Cascading through the canopy of
A million greens above us

Sunlight seeping through
A kaleidoscope throwing rays of light
Shafts and shadows embracing your form
Noir velvet and gold shimmer
An ethereal statue before me

Sitting cross legged on mammoth leaves
We press our palms together
Looking into your eyes
Past now...to before
And back to now again
A forever embrace cradled in unity

Overhead the drip drop melody of
A thousand tears
Falling from the heavens
Audible in form
We have been here before
Surrounded in green majesty

Gazing towards a swaying tribe of ladybugs
Red with black spots
Surrounded in light...glowing
Radiating love

I hover above you spread eagle
Close enough to caress your forehead
With my lips
Leaving a gentle imprint
A message of hope

Fly with me to the clouds
Where we may gallop and play
Frolicking through lush planetary fields

Fly now...ride on my white wings
Up....up ...up
Past turmoil and confusion
Tragedy and loss
Through the lavender veil
To cloudbursts and mist
Mystery and rebirth

Infinite space and distant time surround us
We gasp and giggle
Weightless vibrations inhabit us

Turning towards each other in delight
We cartwheel through the sky
And make snow angels
On the hills of magenta clouds

I LOVE YOU EVEN IN FAR OFF PLACE

Fever of love cartwheel snaillike but where are you?

Round six o'clock noon, sunken is the moon gazing
behind deep orange-aubergine feather skies,
its shadowy light floods the shivering sea,
I, standing still amidst the tickling water,

my teary eyes softly wander upon endless horizon,
my hypothermic skin long for the kisses puffed by you.
Barefooted, I amble along the silky sands
seagulls fingers rushing to caress my feet but

droplets of August rain run fast above my head.
The crisp wind wafts whispering something in my ear
t'was the songs we sang second week of February
honeysuckle times gone but still my celcius sprint.

Softly, I tread back to memoirs playing a chemistry
where there catena of reactions descry revealing we...
Cleansed from river tears, blessed by suns of home,
my heart didn't surrender in wanting your presence soon.

Crossing limitless borders where our lamp is trust,
the choice to continue gleams in the name of freedom,
as we daily counteract two strategic villains:
the odd times and the eight thousand miles distance.

Yes, afar but this NOT THE BARRIER. Us baring our souls.
Us stepping onward, offering ourselves, to attain one goal.
I listened close to your voice as we talk by phone
My oh my, your tone, your giggle magnify my thoughts!

but this not enough 'cause I yearn to hold you most.

I want to ask: what is it that's not in my heart
that fate acted so long in keeping us apart?
Perhaps... Ah perhaps! This must be for us
to rightly spell the language of love...

The long distance vanguished, frozen fears diminished,
sapphire eyes cushioned by cherry color skin sings
as he stares whole from rosy chocolate coated cutis
to eyes touching tears, directly screaming: "I love you..."

Premium Member In the Late August Sun

Watching leaves cartwheel down
we meet at the bench
tucked under the trees, in the park

Unable to speak
I am feeling a squeeze in my breast
My emotions are clenched
with years of unrest
since that day that I left, empty armed

Still weak in the knees
I must sit while I watch
this child, once mine,
sit cross-legged, in light
of the late August sun

His fingers unpeel
the paper, and twine
from the gift I have brought
from a little gift shop
that I passed when I walked in the night

With the package undone,
he smiles up at me
and I see in his eyes
the wholeness of him

And I am strangled to say
the words that I could….
Would I tell him the things
that would empty those eyes
of a soft place to land ?

Now he grabs for the hand
of the mother he knows
and I thank her with eyes
before I must go

I must leave him to her
and not say the words
that would follow him home for all time

I have broken away
any hold that I had
except for the one
that chokes out the sun
on a hot August day
in the late afternoon

A leaf tumbles down, then is swept by the breeze
Only here for a moment, then gone

My Unhappy Lazyboy

After a long work day I come home to a long warm shower. It was getting late into
evening hours. I sat down in my favorite black leather chair. Not knowing I was in for a big
scare. I rolled a joint and sat back fully reclined. I was getting high out of my mind.
As I was enjoying my weed, I almost choked because a voice spoke beneath me! I
jumped up and listened to my chair spit profanity. I wondered if I was loosing my sanity.
My lazyboy said, "Don't be scared, sit down and talk to me!"
I seriously thought I was dreaming. Like an out-of-body experience waking up
screaming. No this is real, very real. I just knew my chair was about to do a cartwheel!
"No need looking around wearing a frown, you been sitting down on me for years; so
have no fear. No it's not the weed, you're seeing clearly, so sit down and listen to me."
I sat down in utter shock, resting my buttocks. As my chair began to explain.
"No Jimmy you're not going insane, but I feel you're causing me harm. I have burns,
scratches, now dust all along my arms. I'm left with a permanant frown. I desperately need
a rub down. I don't wanna be mean, but get some disinfectant and clean. The way I'm living
is obscene!"
No more explanations were needed. So after a good wipe down it was obvious I had
succeeded. My lazyboy's black leather had a nice shine. Now I wanted to rest my spine.
"Ah I feel so much better. Now I can go back into a deep sleep. You can go back
enjoying your weed or nicotine. Just remember my hygiene, and from time to time give me
a clean - Thank you."
I could have sworn my lazyboy gave me a wink. I shook my head, tomorrow I would
go see a shrink!

Premium Member F Is For Fear

F is for a very strong emotion we call Fear.
The way it feels and why you get it I’ll describe right here.

First of all, let’s talk about the way fear makes you feel.
Imagine that your heart beats fast or even does a cartwheel!

It’s not a sickness like the flu to keep you sick in bed.
It flutters in your tummy like a butterfly instead.

Sometimes it just makes you nervous. That’s why folks like me
might bite their nails in scary movies! Then there’s anxiety. . .

Anxiety is fear that comes from too much nervousness.
Too much worrying is bad; we need to have less stress!

To have less stress, be calm and happy. Get a good night’s rest.
And trust in what your parents tell you, for they know what’s best.

Remember - fear is just the body’s way of telling you
when there is something dangerous, be careful what you do!

Let’s say you’re standing on a cliff. To fall off, you will die.
Fear tells you to be careful since you don’t have wings to fly!

And if we feared no punishment from things that we do wrong,
this world would be a less nice place for us to get along!

For if we had no fear of being punished for a sin,
think of all the trouble everybody would be in!

Fear’s a needful thing. You’ll learn to fight your fear with grit.
So do not be afraid of it, not one little bit!

Wistful weeping willow why do you cry,
did you espy your leaves falling from on high?

They can’t cling on when a breeze is around,
see them cartwheel as they float to the ground.

Watch how they are dancing now they are free,
see them waltz as they lose their grip on the tree.

Long leaves spiral down and they land in the stream,
they planned their escape; they’ve achieved their dream

Wistful weeping willow you have no reason to cry;
when the wind blows, wave your leaves a last goodbye.

Around me in a seamless stream, leaves cartwheel in the wind
They tumble from the tall ramparts, then seep into ravines
I've stepped into continuum, to a world beyond compare
to catch the day's reflection in still waters of a dream

Beneath me in a sheltered cove, where reeds and cattails sway
a flash of green, where frogs jump rope, with goals to break the calm
Wind clearly shares a word or two, with ripples on the pond,
and sweeps the grass upon the glass that traps the falling sun

I hone in on a water-bird, who doesn't seem aware
He dips his feet, and I can't speak,…..afraid he'll scurry far
The tranquil day is worry free, and peace is my best friend
Again, to tease, the jealous breeze has stirred the pond's veneer

Gold stretches out a wonderland, no moment's hesitation
as the low wide arms of marshland spreads, and calls for rapt attention
I want to write a poem, a verse.....and curse my own distraction
My morning's gone, and afternoon finds splendor everywhere
The sky is bold, as day unfolds, beneath the fevered brow

Beholding beauty such as this, would cause the tongue to swell
Where the slopes of other places vie or longing eyes might dwell
The heart feels quiet sympathy, they cannot compare as well
O' mystery of what I see, I've learned, and I'm compelled

If heaven shines so beautiful…I can't imagine how
If heaven shines so beautiful...Oh, Lord, please take me now

Premium Member Oh, Snowman

Oh, snowman, what now did you do?
Your cartwheel has not favored you!
Your feet in the air...
head grounded you stare.
Your upside-down stance is askew!

I built you with such loving care;
to stand like this just isn't fair.
Must take you apart
to build from the start,
and place your head up in the air!

But then, I changed planning...instead,
to make you upright, be ahead...
to top ball moved eyes,
nose, mouth, scarf...surprise!
My snowman with super-sized head!

Premium Member Ducks For Breakfast

Have you ever seen a duck come in to land… on land
It’s an eventuality that nature never planned
For ducks that land on water such a graceful splashdown make
But should they land on terra firma… it sure ain’t Swan Lake

Each one does a belly flop, a cartwheel and a stagger
They get up and compose themselves, but ducks weren’t made to swagger
They have no shame so simply waddle with ungainly gait
Toward the back door of my house where they all stand and wait

This morning there were six of them, I watched them all crash down
“They’ll need a pint or two of seed,” I muttered with a frown
Their heads were first to hit the deck, their rumps stuck in the air
I went out with a jug of seed to find them gathered there

As I stepped outside I felt like Moses on the shore
The ducks made space for me to walk and not a hair’s breadth more
Two partridges were standing by and I also fed those
And when the pecking finished, well, I almost checked my toes.

Bird seed by the quarter-gallon gobbled up each time
I wouldn’t mind but it ain’t half a kilo for a dime
But it gives me pleasure and as I stood there this morn
Two more kamikaze ducks crash landed on my lawn.

WHEN NERVES AND PULSE CONGEST

Tender are the days brushed with thoughts of light
when yesterday rolling, rolling are the tears...
Jagged nerves and pulse congest in colliding repair,
they... rise to roar beams and rays of medley grace.
Glitters of gold and red cartwheel slow on my face,
I, before filthy shades of earth stand like a knight
to whoever dares, forgetting crime as I fight!
Even to ember flames of days, I... brave to step and chase
for if deep the earths' steep it births you: "my sunshine",
I keep forth to reap a mirth: me being with you.
Black as coal creep, it rebirth night that seeps the signs
but later sun peeps, its smile girths our blues.
To a new life, new day, I faithfully consign
with burning daylight as my sweep leap to have you...

A dance of elegance they leap
in grace of movements sweep
moonlights skipping on the waves
upon the circuits the currents paves

A Spanish Dancer twirls her skirt
whose painted like a rainbows shirt
Your works oh Jah blanket the Sea
where creatures frolic internally

Where Leafy Dragons in Reefs foray
the clown fish in anemone play
the razor fish like knives in sand
but foolish men think it's not planned

Where fierce and tender Orca steals
the infant pups of many Seals
where coral forests the oceans floor
the groves of Kelp hide many more

Odd companions the crab and shrimp
who share a hole like common tent
on flows the cisterns of the Deep
the lair where Leviathan do sleep

There flying fish cavort on wing
wild aquatic souls live and sing
here Dolphins cartwheel in escapade
in pods their dancing a parade

Who understands the Songs of Whales
who carry calves and smack their tails
to starfish who cling the rock of Beaches
here low tides the mussels reaches

These lives mankind has proved a danger
to poison Seas palace he is no stranger
Here predator man competes with Sharks
in every Sea his fatal marks

The Shark only does his hunt for meal
Mankind's a predator who kill and steal
Toxic pollution down rivers flow
the dead zones that kill the life below

Life perpetuates itself by designers plan
We question it's survival , it's death by Man
Those who love the earth these traits resist
There's too much beauty divinely kissed

Banana Peel- Virelai

Felt under my heel
A banana peel
I slip
Loudly now I squeal
Like a clapping seal
I flip
A mid air cartwheel
Now terror I feel
I yip!

Need to get a grip
Sweat beads off me drip
Oh boy.
I bend at the hip
My feet now I grip
No joy
I brace, bite my lip
And land from this trip
Not coy

Was this evil ploy?
A cartoon decoy?
With zeal!
A plan I employ
Litterbug, destroy!
Big deal…
Calm down from annoy
And had a Rob Roy
Surreal.

I Still Feel You

I still feel you in the summer meadows
we walked
and in thoughts that shape
prayers without words.

I watched you
staggering, panting,
exulting.
You shone like a cartwheel of light
in my soul.
And, oh, your tired bones
beneath that illusion,
your shape still glowing.

First I ignored your now-body
ranked with blood and fear.
Blindfolded, I passed you by…
then turned back.
Underneath a blank voiceless sky
I felt your heart tremble,
felt its old persistent music.
Beyond logic, beyond hope.

Twitching feet stilled
to the sound of my voice,
your face fell against my shoulder.
A smile lightning you up…
And once again I knew you.
And you died.

It was a day without pain,
though I knew pain would follow,
like an old dog that will never leave.

But it did not matter.
That was the day I decided
to be happy,
thinking that happiness may be
the only thing you wanted from me,
the only gift I can still give you.

How else could you have seen
the dragonfly dancing over the garden pond,
the flash of iridescent blue beneath its wings, quick as a breath, how else
could you see it dart, then hesitate
above the green water,
as if it gave pleasure deliberately?

How could you perceive the sunset
falling between tall trees, that old stillness,
then the vermilion leaves startling
in a call of delight, how could you receive
that golden moment when a skein of geese
across the sky disappeared into the light,

except through me?
