Wistful weeping willow why do you cry,
did you espy your leaves falling from on high?
They can’t cling on when a breeze is around,
see them cartwheel as they float to the ground.
Watch how they are dancing now they are free,
see them waltz as they lose their grip on the tree.
Long leaves spiral down and they land in the stream,
they planned their escape; they’ve achieved their dream
Wistful weeping willow you have no reason to cry;
when the wind blows, wave your leaves a last goodbye.
