The new guy in my life chases me around
while we laugh and play in the local park.
He's the best man I could've ever found.
He gets me drunk without popping a cork.
We share bubbles; not the champagne kind.
The kind we blow way up into the blue sky
and when they go 'pop' we don't even mind
for it's such fun to watch them flying so high.
Looking at life through the eyes of this child
gives me a feeling that's quite hard to explain.
He brings out such an urge in me to run wild,
the riotous kind that makes me happily insane.
My grandson is a free spirit with angelic eyes
and a vocabulary that amazes me each day.
This child will grow into some woman's prize,
but his Nana wishes at the age of two he'd stay.

You are my sweet bubbling Brown Mexican Sugar.
I want to taste you all the time.
Your sweet lips make luscious sense to my mind.
Oh! how you make me gush when I see that face.
I don't know what it is about you,
that makes my heart sing.
Only that look in your eyes makes my mind go ding.
What is it about you that captures my soul,
and turns it upside down?
You are my sweet Bubbling Brown Mexican Sugar,
and I want you all the time.

Wisdom from above, enmeshed in Love, comes complete
How then make more wisdom flow ... I didn't know
But then the best teacher discovered this dithering fool, me -
O how this Teacher renews my mind, unwinds the dark and dank in me
From my belly a refreshing flow murmurs, then mumbles and rumbles
And I see a vessel being filled. Soon full, how to harness the flow?
As with a vessel, so with a soul, Spirit of Wisdom says
Take from this Spirit daily - almost manna, remember Hannah
And Sarah and Abraham and Ruth and Rahab, and Rustic Rabbi
Living waters of grace, wave after wave, grace upon grace
The surplus that overflows your vessel, doesn't flow over and away
There's a thirsty traveler passing every day
Someone, too, rejected by her kind, comes solitary to the well
Meets the Designer indeed! Who will thirst anymore, rich or poor
When the rains fail, when the ogres wail, share this cup
There is no drought in the Spirit of Wisdom. Will I draw it up
Do I have a rope of right strength and length, a pail and the practice?
Or will I be ready for the surprise: where to redirect Spirit's brimming surplus?

Alliteration
Aerial dribs and drabs, a sidewalk canvas
As a toddler chases bubbles her mother blows
from confectionary soap,
Fluttering fluidity in spring air
Child's laugh, a mosaic of innocence, discovery and glee
Her run after each globe, unsteady, twisted gravity
Her footwork shifts in warfare wobble, no sinkhole falling
Her reach to pop each bubble, circus kerfuffle, giddy,
giggles that swing like a trapeze artist,
while a mother retrieves
unexpected memory
shards of recovery
that coat a guarded self
Neverland jester, a child's guileless glow,
routing air baubles
unconstrained by space,
untethered from fear,
avoiding a fall off the planet
to limited mobility
For sometimes life's march
doesn't start on time

When we first met, our love so stark
Would our love sizzle, even spark
Soon a tiny sprinkle implied
Trickling spring bubbled from inside
Beside the lake, when we were young
Our budding love became far-flung
Our love we no longer could hide
Our love's spring bubbled from inside
A young man took a risk in time
Without a reason or a rhyme
The moves you made surely implied
Trickling spring bubbled from inside
Our spring grew into a river
Soon became a child's caregiver
Three children in lifetime we've strive
Still a spring bubbled from inside

"Good" poetry is like alchemy:
You dig as deep as you can,
Rising above the weariness.
You don't even need to see
Times troubled miracles
To notice everything
Bubbling over.
And look how everything's just bubbling over,
Bubbling,
Bubbling,
Over.

There is a bubbling spring, deep below the edge of my mind.
Dark, with glistening waters that are yet blurred,
And indistinct.
I watch it, with some interest, to see what comes forth,
As I am ignorant until words appear. They flood forth,
Ripe, pregnant with meaning (though sometimes, only
I can see what relevance to my life...or yours...
they might possess).
And always I wonder, whence cometh this fountain of words?
And I have no answer (though I blame my Mother…and perhaps my Dad).
Yet others seize on this and egg me on, and I do…I write…and
Wonder, whither it comes and is it me…and what does it all mean?

Do you remember the Beverly Hillbillies?
When Jed shot the ground,
Oil produced without a sound,
They capped that up quick,
They didn’t even damage the fish,
So tell me,
If a bunch of hillbillies,
Came together,
Could they stop a leak?
That seems to go on forever,
Black gold gushing in our waters,
Damage from below,
Ever getting worst,
And no one is taking control,
With all the technology,
And all the great minds,
We cannot figure out,
How to cap a pipe????

When we had small farms, the child in me loved natural springs
Almost every memory of farming has a bubbling spring choir -
These days, as I recycle water from my sink in bottles, for my plants
Each day, I hear ancient music our tribes smiled at, near pond and wells

~this bubbling thrill
makes the night sparkles with love glow
~this bubbling thrill
sailing through hearts with golden feel
Igniting true passion to flow
bad thoughts and emotions make low
~this bubbling thrill~
~this bubbling thrill
glitters like globular structure
~this bubbling thrill
reflecting true traits with a seal
flowing like cool breeze from seashore
making souls to have smooth nurture
~this bubbling thrill~
