We go to war

We go to war
to protect our investment
  the Oil 'neat the sand

We go to war
to depose your 'evil leader'
  strike up the band

We go to war
because we're right and you're wrong
  about internet broadband

We go to war
because your country is corrupt, impure
  as your dark-colored hands...

So, many will die
wives and mothers will cry
the world will shrug and sigh
  commentators will ask Why...

Whatever the reason
There's no way to 'ease in'
So many will die ~
  Can't war just be banned

A Is For Antenna 1

A is for Antenna

A is for Antenna, the two-in-one, receiving in and transmitting away.
B is for Broadband, to fire away on the high speed digital highway.
C is for Current, what a beauty, it is all but free- electron- flow.
D is for decibel, not the horrible, but a logarithmic unit and a ratio.
E is for Electrons, the teeny weeny charged particles, so light
F is for Fibre, or simply glass that passes streams of bits as light.
G is for Gain, could also mean loss, a measure of what’s in and what’s out.
H is for Harmonics, often unwanted multiples that are up and about.
I is for Ionosphere, the upper reaches of appreciable ionization
J is for Jitter, Who wants this unwanted, random fluctuation
K is for Klystron, just a tube which, in the microwave range, oscillates
L is for Limiter, thank God, the input to a system , it limits.
M is for Modulation, a wave-on -wave super imposition
N is for Noise, the hated disturbances due to heat’s action
O is for Oscillators, they are from low to ultra high frequency
P is for Pulse, not of the heartbeat, but a quick shot of energy.
Q is for Quartz, the stabilizer that is piezo-electric
R is for Regeneration, recuperating-the- sick- signal- trick.
S is for Semiconductors, not semi-precious, but indispensable
T is for Transmission, making communication finally possible,
U is for Unlimited Plans, the veritable godsend for the customer
V is for Voltage, the difference of potentials, one should remember.
W is for Waves, electromagnetic waves not the ones in the ocean,
X is for X-rays, against which the engineer should exercise caution
Y is for Yagi, it’s only an antenna, not a yogi or a tribal totem
Z is for Zirconium, hungry for neutrons in the context of atom.

That puts in a nutshell the revolution
Of electronics and communication.

Premium Member The Gift

It vibes in harmonics broadband, a musical language universal,
Echoing across the heights divides, falling as a thunderstorms,
Raw force of spiritual power, descending from the heavens above,
The angels do yield, surrendering the gift of music unto the world
Of man.
Pierced by their angelic thorny prongs, tender notes of rhythm,
Melt downwards from the silver lining of graces everlasting meadows
Of inspiration.
Separations clouds expose the here ever afters, sparks of the divinities
Fame burning as a torch lighting up the skies white powder showering
The earth with sweet melodic undertones, a thundering vibrating beat felt
Throughout the pulsating heart of nature itself.
Music lives within all things, it binds a connecting link, a
Symphony a blending element, a melting promise between heaven and
Earth, a harmonious balance, light equaling dark.
In the vaults of the skies, the heavenly chorus joins with
The voices of humanity singing a song of complete
Harmony.
What a true wonder is this gift given unto mankind,
To write and sing, to share such expressionism with
One another, music is honestly a universal language
Understood by every nation, or age group beneath
The heavens themselves.
A heritages legacy passed down from grandfathers,
To fathers, and than to sons, and daughters,
Is this the love and wonder of these arts there in
So shared by all members of the human race for
Generations of inspiration to come.
I listen to the songs sang by the morning doves,
To the charming voices of our youthful young,
Than those jolly fellows from days gone by,
You know the old barber shop quorate.
So many variations and depths of degrees,
Harmony, rock-n-roll, to golden oldies country,
Music is a wonderment all to it's own glory.
So we thank you those powers on high,
For this miracle of a gift called music.

The Violence of Money

There is never an ending
		to the spending
	a world of paper
and plastic to collect
and horde
	clothes
	and cars
	and homes
	and jewelry
	and fine wine
	and paintings
	stocks and bonds
	vacations
and expectations
entire vocations
	devoted to
disguising the numbers
the Caribbean masquerade
to volumes of recorded
purchases and voices
of invoices
making
	discreet
choices
all
to extend
the accumulation
of dates
and names
places and faces
communications
	and connections
		at breakneck
speed
must fill the need
must fill the need
a shouting browbeating
		broadband
handing over
fistfuls	of cash
to make sure
make certain
	only the best
	the finest
	the rarest
of air is not available

for
the underwater martyrs
the silent box dwellers
the empty bottle collectors
the wheelchair drifters
the SRO limbo sellers
the workers at
		the bottom
	of the
fast
food
chain

and the indigent gamblers
who line the halls
to knock on doors
of government departments
crippled by reckless
and corrupt state
administrations
choking the dwindling
sources
and resources
		that have
	nothing to do
but
count the days
and ways
to disappoint
disarm dismay
dispute the reputations
and applications
held in sweaty palms
eager

to begin living
to end the doubt
to end the not having
the counting of pennies
the slow heroin erosion
the unbroken hollowness
the whiskey-soaked
ravages of vacant histories
better-forgotten memories
of cold emergency rooms

to end being
in a world
apart

a world
of resentment
of fear and hate and anger
of dark empty streets
empty recriminations
empty promises
	made to themselves
	by themselves
harming themselves
		or
arming themselves
to rob to steal
to maim

to take whatever they can
for as long as they can
to approximate
the wonder and magic
	of having what you need
when you need it or want it
to not have to beg
to not have to humiliate
or be humiliated

to not have to watch
    the ease of others
who have a casual
contempt for misfortune
and respect for nothing
but their own wealth
           of deception
to breeze through
tall golden doors
to an unbroken string
of shiny bright todays
and tomorrows

to not have to
     lunge for hope
     and
never grasp it
in all ways
and forever
just out of
reach

Confessions of a Poetrysouper

Forgive me PS for I have sinned,
I’ve posted a poem I ought to have binned,
I have read many poems without leaving a word,
And wonder why my opinion’s unheard,
The odd shameless plug is not beyond me,
(My e-book’s on Amazon if you’d like to see!)
I’ve spent too many hours creating a poem,
When there’s plenty of housework waiting at home,
Not to mention my hogging of all the broadband,
It’s not fair on my man, he pays for it and,
He deserves his far share that’s clear to see,
So I’m asking PS would you please forgive me?

Hanging precariously on the landline pole,
The sun's beams dance, yet no heat console.
Akin to power wires in homes spread and sway,
But it seems friendly warmth has gone astray.

Sun rays are vanishing behind the fog cover,
Placing the world through a frost to discover.
Nonetheless, it still clings to the phone cable,
A sign of hope is when light and cheer are stable.

Phone broadband towers above the keen sky.
It manages the call akin to a coordinator of a tie.
Yet it feels empty without the rays of the sun.
A mystery gap, an unviable-to-cram void, began.

Our bones are gently dying as we sit in silence.
Warmth may induce a shift in people's reliance.
But the phone's broadband remains unmoved.
By embracing all our goals, we stay unimproved.

We dearth the sun to engulf us with its coziness.
To devote us comfort, we struggle for prosiness.
But forthwith, we're out in the cold, yearning.
For the radiation from the sun to start burning.

Acoustically, we fix our gaze on the phone wire,
Speculating around when it will uplift us higher.
Will it ever convey to us the warmth we desire?
Or will it ditch us eternally in this icy quagmire?

However, a hyperlink grows inside the wire.
A flickering ember of faith that will not tire.
So there is a secret power within the cord.
A convenient network that hinders the record

Each house, each heart, a node in this scheme,
An array of linkages where comfort can gleam.
And though the sun may not shine with its might,
Each of us is able to produce our proper light.

So let us sit quietly in the cold embrace.
And bear changes at our proper pace.
The phone, a device, or a wire may hang above
Yet it is up to us to descry the embrace of love.

Premium Member The Whole World In His Band

The Whole World In His Band
God wants the whole world in His band
Brothers and sisters of the land
Followers singing His commands
Connecting through heaven’s broadband.

Sing in praise all ye that do stand
On the Lord’s glorious bandstand
Sing how it is, holding God's hand
Lord and conductor of the band.

Children come along, clap your hands
To beat of drums and baby grands
With skips and hops dance to the band
For God so loves His precious lambs.

All Birds and creatures of the land
Join with us too, it's your homeland
Sea creatures from depths of sea-land
Swell the choirs of the Lord’s mainland.

The Lord takes hold of one's right hand
He's the saviour of those hearts fanned
By faithful members of the band
That lead us to the promised land.

Altogether now hand in hand
God wants the whole world in His band.

The Budget Is a Moral Document

What goes into
caucus and committee
and what comes out
      of caucus and committee

what dialogue travels
the halls of Congress
and what dialogue is absent
      from those consecrated halls

what is debated on
the floor stays on the floor
and what rises to the ceiling
      stays on the ceiling

a high wire act in a circus of clowns and puppets
trip over each other to raise money for themselves

what elevates the heavy
gavel of procedure
and what brings that mighty
        wooden gavel down

who is written out of trade
partnership agreements
and who is written into trade
         partnership agreements

what is left out of
national security legislation
and what is written
         into security legislation

it has the shape and style and sound and appearance
of democracy but some fingers and toes are missing

cloaked in rhetoric
and petulant rant representatives
buzz from one special interest
         flower to the other

pushing debased agendas
and empty proposals with impunity
unaware that every single meeting
         and motion and voice

is attached to the life of
a determined and diligent citizen
dependent upon their
         conscientiousness and empathy

clichés and bromides shift fast between nattering teeth
ranks close in and capacity for clear hearing thins out

tabloids and blogs are
the prime sources of knowledge
and gravitas is a slow steamboat
         on the Mississippi

commentators and pundits
flap thick wicked tongues
giving lip service to Constitutional
         principles and purpose

all thriving in a happy
broadband land where drones
drop bombs far away as
we sleep in peace and comfort

turn up the Wi-Fi
have another pitcher of brew

no need to ponder the wretched
who make it possible
for all of us
to live

All About Rights

I was staggered with an item
On the news last night
About illegal downloads
And breach of copyright
One proposal is to block offender’s broadband
Which I thought was alright
But apparently this in itself is illegal
As broadband is now a human right
What has become of this country?
What brought us to our plight?
What about the Tolpuddle martyrs?
What of the suffragettes fight?
What of battle for equality
These are true issues of human right
If King Arthur returned to us
He would turn and take flight

Internet Down Again

Internet Down Again!

My broadband connection is off,
And has been every evening,
Since i upgraded to Infinity,
Frustration has proximity.

Anger is on the hob,
Boiling up from within,
I don’t know why it doesn’t work,
And won’t just take it on the chin.

I won’t grin and look away,
In my stupidity and ignorance,
Just because I need a techy person,
To rectify the interference.

I don’t think I need an engineer,
To visit and poke and prod,
At my body part and vital switch,
At the vehicle of the baud.

There’s something wrong at their end,
So I did email them that it was down,
Far too often for my large pale,
Makes me curse, jeer and frown.

Contemporary Values Inspire Me:

To teach some virtue on broadband
To spread God's word from a bandstand
To require more clothes during a suntan
To eliminate lewd dances in lap-land
To take lust fanned and begin a ban
To fight child prostitution in Thailand
To remove molesters' favorite gland
To vanquish tears throughout the land
To banish lewd stories from the newsstand
To compel greedy people to disband
To stop cattle rustling in the rangeland
To remove abused plants from pusher's cropland
To not stick my head deep in the sand
To teach righteous living in my homeland
To stop mankind from sinking in sin's quick sand
Contemporary values are not God's plan.

Phew - No More, No More

Phew!! No More, No More!

That internet really works hard for me,
Broadband almost collides with a star,
Races, whirs and displaces latency,
Drives fast as a speedy, sly race car.

Whenever I want information specific,
About something eccentric or opaque,
I get out those long sentences horrific,
For google, to disperse the mystique.

I search using giant, long questions,
And even end them with a question mark,
And it shoots out several hits, locations,
For my personal analysis and remark.

Premium Member Space X and Falcon Number Nine

There is a rocket firing off today
Sending a business adventure trip far away
With the thunder below
Up it will go
Looking to put technology in the sky
In a late afternoon scripted signature that everyone on the beach will wave bye bye
Falcon number nine is spending the dime
To climb climb climb
Calling the plays from the huddle
Very near to the pad for the shuttle
Internet interaction will be shared
In this mechanical bon voyage that has flair
Traveling to many orbits out there
Sixty broadband satellites will be dispersed
Into the vast universe
After the fact that been confirmed
Space X had money to burn
Linking the stars from above
With Intergalactic communication that fits like a glove
T Minus the launch will be here
Giving us new apps to play with next year
