Boston Strong 2014
                  One Year Later

There is a strength in compassion,
a courage in the compassionate,
not a faint desire to be of service
but a triggered response.

There is a power in sadness,
not in the tears or deflation
but in the determination to
persevere, to rise again.

There is a force in unity,
the inexplicable rumbling
of hearts, beating in response
to the hearts of others.

There is a passion in oneness,
in focus, in belief, determination,
a love shared, nurtured, shielded,
cherished, and necessary.

POTD~

In the misery of a paler grey nightfall
she blinks like citrine glazed along walls,
Ivy of Boston flaunts her shimmer without guilt
as palette of amber claims her lustrous glides
slithering with her bohemian lift,
rosette flesh blushing in chilled breeze.

Social climber this paramour, whirling
among plants wanton wild ,
trickles of mist freckle palms of curled leaves-
stem for stem-- translating the language of time,
of how branches relish herbage flow
as my wet hands paddle my dusky breaths
through mid-evening's freeze.

How her alchemy draws gasping sighs
more red than red could ever tease,
and that gypsy's heat...leaving mortals
in awe-...that her fluid pose seems to jut out
from a glass frame to rush forth with all
her womanly senses gushing, snaking,
writhing in the middle of ghastly, boney winter

meant to return on the edge of wild abandon,
enticing men with her faceted charm

never ever the same each time.

The Boston Massacre

In Boston they threw ice and oyster shells
As the British troops marched coldly by.
Till soon the streets were ringing with the yells:
“Lobster-backs!” the righteous raucous cry.

The troops retreated till they could retreat no more,
Nine men against one hundred strong,
Till suddenly the muskets made their roar,
Scattering hot lead amid the throng.

Ant though the Boston public howled in outraged hate
Someone softly spoke the soldiers’ case:
John Adams arguing their very fate
Seeking justice in that hostile place,

A patriot who helped us spurn the British crown,
Rescued six lost British lives,
Against the sentiment of his own town…
One more reason Adams’ name survives.

The Dilettante Diaries: "The Bumble Bee Big Blue Sky Boston Two Step on Love Street"

She said, "Pffft Bumble Bees Rule,
No Bees, no World
Shy Little Hearts
Big power
freedom wings
realised
dreams into reality
unfurls
Who’s to write that story?
She’s just a girl
In a Boston Two Step World"

He said, "Stung, once bitten twice shy..."
She said, "The Devil’s in the Details -
the real deal is swallowing
“The Whole Beautiful”
Big Blue Sky
and opening mouths
tongues speak
transfer a lush kiss
shared wealth
Icarus flies out
Sun in his mouth -
It's a sinch..."

He said, "Lady Bird! Lady Bird!
Your House is on Fire!"
She said, "Long ago maybe,
the Empire now strong in unified minds
unfurls to The Town Crier
A new Kingdom
Love
Power
rising higher and higher
Ok tiger, maybe a spark now,
Not yet into bonfire"

For a Woman
that once was a
Butter would melt
in mouth Girl
dreaming unreachable
bigger blue skies
She irreverently
turns keys
in hearts
A Fire opens latches
Lacquered Chinese
puzzle boxed
pheromone trials
and strange
very odd matches
Carniolan whispers, “Bring it on”
She now smiles
and captures...

Judges 14 buzzzing bees 8
Air thick with flying honey
All Along the Watch Tower
She opens the Gate
Hendrix’s Bumble Bees speak,
in hushed reverent
unified tone,
"It’s never too late..."

My heart has been in Boston
all week long
I shed some tears for Boston
while sitting in my home
I saw the people of Bosten
there filled with just pride
Though far away from Boston
I was right there by there side
God has blessed Boston
with justice and less fears
But for those still injured in Boston
we still whisper our prayers
We love our brother Boston
and with him always share
the burdens still left for freedom
that were given birth there.

Evie's Boston Cream Pie

Evie's Boston Cream Pie

Evie's Boston Cream Pie is so heavenly to eat I can't deny
She's the greatest cook that I dearly know of
Her cooking even goes beyond heaven's door
Makes my mouth still wanting more, more
Sure wish I could cook as well like her, her
She's so talented with whatever comes her way
I think, I'd love to have a big heart like her some day
Evie's Boston Cream Pie is so very scrumptious I have to say
When she bakes she makes enough to feed an army; Hooray!!!

Boston Marathon Tragedy

no doubt sympathetic poured in exceeding a ton
sans the reverberations from the supposed terroristic act doth stun
although neither a native bostonian son nor one who opts to run
my track record racks up with any manner of pun
yet only tears for deadly explosions
and incalculable loss of limb it less life barring none
when cataclysmic dynamic explosions occurred around 3:00 p.m. on mon
day april 15th, 2013
 with inexplicable psychic
piercing pain punctured as with countless gun

near bunker hill where american revolution
   bred battles for freedom bought
brandished weapons
from colonial americans feverish cry for independence caught
with blood, sweat and tears of lexington and concord fought
with nada one justifiable reason and now motive sought
but...when perpetrator identified justice will be taught
adhering the state motto
"By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty"
for religious or those of secular beliefs
whose lives rent asunder with grievous heartbreak wrought

despite the race, religion or creed
of those mortally hurt and/or killed, i feel such heinous deed
only the mindset of a live googly eyed yahoo doth feed
with relish the innocent lives forever he/she now gloating with glee
as a miser with greed
at what august athletes (suffering les miserable’s) lack any wherewithal to heed
for who could foresee where a twisted mind or two would lead
ambitious disciplined bodies would so suddenly need
triage with others on the sidelines to plead
for desperate intervention with utmost speed
heard by ordinary folk now cast as heroes
bursting forth like a hardy weed.

First Boston

When we got the news we were not totally shocked

When we got the news a marathon was a surprise

When we got the news speculation in families came

When we got the news there were worries of our own

When we got the news with a funeral and London marathon

When we have relatives in Town - London - worry always there

When we got the news we living in 'First Boston' thought of the

'First City' of Boston in proud Commonwealth of Massachusetts

We send our sympathy and urge justice in these irrational times.

Premium Member Another Boston Massacre

On 15 April, this was a horrific episode.
In the afternoon, three bombs would explode.
This happened near the end of the Boston run.
Scores of casualties resulted after the bombing was done.
As least two persons were killed in the process.
This senseless act caused a huge amount of distress.
The responsible party has not come forward.
Whoever you are, you are a spineless coward.

Swimming With the Boston Celtics a Poem For Jealous Fans

I’ve never taken a swim with the dolphins
But I did swim with the Celtics
One day in Miami
An odd celebrity encounter
Just me and the team
Swimming in the same hotel pool— all together

The men had their shirts off
Incredible beautiful bodies
Muscles, intricate tattoos, six packs for all
Running, jumping, warming up, swimming together
They enjoyed each other’s company – like gentlemen would
Embodying everything you would want to see in a sports team

That moment, I wished I had been a true sports fan
I wished I had known exactly who they were
I would have called them by name, said hi, introduced myself, and asked graciously for a picture
Instead, I just watched them – casually - not interfering –
I smiled if they looked my way

And when I sensed they wanted to race each other
Over the full length of the pool
I immediately moved to the spa
I won’t name or describe the player who won the race
But, for the Celtics fans reading this
I will tell you,
That after the race
They joined me in the spa.
