Premium Member In Her Reflection I Am Poetry

Mind will always dream,
eyes will endlessly gaze,
lips will remain impatient.

Although, I've not met her,
the heart is a battleground
of anguish and angst.
Its cries, seeking the serenity
of her secret sanctuary.

Hope ascends to tranquil heavens.
Twilight's baptism, blends
merigold into fading blue horizons
with sparkling amethysts hues.

Oh my beautiful beloved,
come to me with your comforting arms,
like soothing stars, shepherding
the nebulous night sky.

Destiny can deceive,
sometimes a friend, sometimes a foe,
but, we search for the blessings,
through each trial and tribulation.

For, she is the silence,
between heart beats -
who's name rests upon
tense tips of the tongue.

In the discrepancy of distance,
love's appetite lingers in lament -
yearning for our lips to merge.

Yet the night is an unfinished symphony.
Idyllic lyrics craving to pour,
upon an incomplete song sheet.

Without her,
Silent One's muse is mute.

I am not a poet,
But in her reflection -
I am poetry.

Mindful

Startled out of nonchalant light,
Wakefulness stands at attention
Ignited flame from the eternal candle,
Energized vigil of the watchman
At the soul’s dawning daybreak
Tingling in the presence
Of every dappled infinite breath.

Rotating eye of illumination
Watchful, like a lighthouse beacon hovering,
Charts rocks and shoals through clear oceans insight,
Every nerve exposed in circumspection
Sometimes cringing in wary expose
Often basking in the light touch of satisfaction
As niggling prophecy finds confirmation in revelation

Throwing off the blinded penury of antonyms,
Embracing flashing synonyms of wisdom,
Tears of the heedful heart touch drab puzzles poverty
To polish with refinement’s shine burnished enthusiasm
For the incandescent dancing mindful
Then banish chary strobes of destitute indifference
Reaching beyond self-centered parentheses.

A lantern of thoughtfulness in floodlights
Of full harvest shared – no scattered crumbs of bread
Baked to stone in scathing flashes of the false
Eloquent vigilant splendor - never morning extinguished –
Torch to awaken lambent radiance of clarity’s joy,
Identity of the pilgrim heart, ejects sightless shades

Mindfulness blends the conscious scattered fragments
For Mosaics in clear lit portraits of charity's open hands
Throwing off the numb stalker branded carelessness
Born of intentional ignorance
Seeker’s actuated incentive to the attentive –
To hear! To see! To feel! To move in birth!
Action invigorated by accentuated humility of grace.

Premium Member Psalm To the Artist

The Lord weaves His grand tapestry across the skies
He outlines charcoal colored clouds with silver threads
sews the sunlight of dawn into rays that caress the sea
and folds ocean ripples into fans of intricate patterns.

Each morning God’s canvas awaits His ready hand
a master Artist, His creativity knows no bounds
He dips His brush into the spectrum of rainbows
like a whirlwind, He mixes and paints dazzling designs.

God deftly blends pastel shades to greet the rising sun
He sweeps white, cotton clouds that hover over land and sea
He paints the morning light to touch lush liquid waves
and adds violet colored shadows that fade into the horizon.

His living canvas continually changes its hues and tones
each moment rearranged by heat, wind or sudden storms
a cornucopia of shapes sweep across the heavens
like rapid time frames that move within an eternal film.

Will not many among the nations fail to see His mighty wonders?
Will not many among us look up to relish in His majestic sky?
God’s handiwork daily displays His infinite creation
may we lift up our eyes to behold His unending glory.

It's OK
that you don't have much to say
Your words are kept on paper
For your eyes to savor
It doesn't matter that your best friends
Are Agatha Christie and Emily Dickinson

It's alright that the phone doesn't ring
With silly chatter over pointless things
Don't be concerned with the prom princess
With perfect skin who looks flawless

You are not one of the sheep that blends in
You are more alive in your own skin
Of books, and writing, and libraries
They can keep their ugly judgments and drunk parties

You don't need doctors and therapy
Because you prefer anonymity
To toxic high school hypocrisy

You put yourself before contests
To see which boy likes which girl the best
You like yourself for who you are
Proud to be unpopular

Proud of your poetry, proud of your rhymes
Your unvalued hobby, your peculiar pastime
You like reading the thesaurus for fun!
Never apologize, never be done

You know
your old soul

Don't fall into the female curse
Of self-sacrifice, always love yourself, first.

The mica-flecked granite outcroppings loom,
releasing bits of themselves randomly
sparkling, as they fall, in felted-light they bloom.

Blasted cliffs, yet brazen, they rise without decree,
unconcerned with the maples, and the birch,
releasing bits of themselves randomly.

An ashen, sulking, sky hides the eagle's perch
and softens all the jagged edges of the scene
unconcerned with the maples, and the birch.

A collage of layers blends all color in between
each angle decomposing in the rain,
and softens all the jagged edges of the scene.

Within the fog the distant mountain's strain
bruised in shades of lavender and forest green,
each angle decomposing in the rain.

A watercolor tableau where, unforeseen,
the mica-flecked granite outcroppings loom,
bruised in shades of lavender and forest green
sparkling as they fall, in felted-light they bloom.

October brings us panoramic scenes
Picassoesque impressionistic style
From reds to browns and earth tones in between
When nature paints those landscapes that beguile

The helpful sun provides hot yellow paint
Which bleeds and blends from mountains to the seas
There are no signs that nature shows restraint
As hues are scattered by the autumn breeze

Yet with her madness comes a masterpiece
The reason for spring's jealousy of green
Before her creativity has ceased
Her orange and black spills on Halloween

October means peace, love, and harmony
Get with your friends, enjoy fall's scenery

Premium Member Haunted

A hole in the head shooting pain trembles
nightshades coldly down the spine
a soul lost in the land of the living
carried away in darkness
flying inside dark clouds holding just a dream

Distant thunder roars lightening splitting cracks
sure as the crow flies crawling opens Hell's gates
dark jewels of the night
charred remains churning in a cauldron
boiling goodness tears of thoughts

Piercing screams spawning nightmares
holding a promise once made
walking in a valley amongst the dead
shadows now smile hearing animals scream
as the moon plays silver dancing light

Dreams snatched away from reality
the crow calls echoes in silence
victims of this world howling over and back
tragedy cries in their pain and suffering
eyes seeking light
whispers through the branches
a heather bleat creature of the night calls

Haunted by humans chained to the earth
awaiting shadows and sunsets
a cursed banshee wails supernatural screams
from everywhere and nowhere

Mind numbing winds passing through
a white silhouette shredded shroud
around a heart entombed
in agonies' twilight shades clouds darken
storms brewed stirring specters chase the wind

Cold rains become lost tears
the willow weeps in eternal sorrows
a lament for the dead
as the silver crescent moon smiles goodbye

Blends in clear as day after sunrise
forgotten in a valley of unrest
death bell's toll out from the past
onyx feathered crows call painful cries

Forever seeking heaven's gate now sealed
that promised choice was lost ages ago
only burning Hell fires
or cold earthworms await

Premium Member Back Then

Looking back at the summers
Way back then, when I was ten
The golden sun was still a friend
And the world was good, around each bend

I'm riding my bike, with the breeze in my face
With time on my side, I am winning a race
Where life seems so carefree, I can hold my arms high
Where wheels spin beneath me, in a race to the sky
I'm sailing past memories, past all the troubles I've known
Past the everyday worries, that we face when we're grown

With my legs long and tan, I am peddling fast
Where tomorrow is distant, and sweet memories last
Where nothing will die, and everything blends
Over roads without sorrow, where nothing will end

Clutching the handles, and pumping my knees
I will fly past the heartache, where my troubles will ease
Far down the lane that circles the trees
Where faces of loved ones, still smile up at me

A turn 'round the corner, finds happiness there
Everything's simple and everything's fair
A splash through a puddle, or bumpy old tracks,
My eyes remain forward......with no looking back
I could peddle forever, to that place worry free..
When I ride that old bike, there's a child left in me

Premium Member Love Beneath the Stars

The stars move round in perfect harmony,
All planets move in their destined paths,
Never wavering. The harmony of celestial routes.
And now and then in the dark of the night,
I climb onto my roof and watch the million stars
Shining upon the earth with all their splendour.

Look right down in the sky, is that not the morning star
Many label it as Venus which does not twinkle,
But stares directly into your eyes, evoking love.
Oh, how elated can one feel, mesmerised by emotions
So deep into our hearts as we yearn for companionship.

Hush, the culmination of love comes with the moon
As it moves up above the dark purple hills.
I call my wife to come and see the enormous wonder
Of the dazzling resplendent night panorama,
Knew that our love now blends into a romantic oneness.

A Burst of Orange

A Burst Of Orange
By Lauren Hardman

For me,
Orange
Bright and new
Symbolizes warmth
Acceptance
And strength.

Orange blends well
With fuchsia pink.
The two colors
Match up nicely
To construct
Alluring sunsets
Along with sunrises.

Orange has
An intermediate tone
That isn’t black or white.
It allows for great contrasts
With numerous colors.
That’s a facet of orange
That I appreciate.
It’s kind of like life.
People need to be different
To be united.

The brilliant color
Makes me feel elated!
It uplifts my mood,
Molds my personality,
Puts my mind at ease.
It unfolds a creative
Sweet side of me.
That lets me be
Who I am.

I realized who I am
By doing things I love.
Singing,
Playing piano,
Drawing designs,
Examining various colors,
Crafting poems like this one.

I believe that
All colors tap into
The depths of your imagination
And provide
Great insight
Into who you are.

Premium Member A Leaf In the Wind

Like a leaf in the wind
Floating through this realm of time
Whither I go, this knowledge eludes
And 'though I know who bloweth the wind
At times my troubled heart does quake
Over rugged mountains, through raging storms
Tossed and battered against lofty walls
Too high to scale or infiltrate
When strength is wane and hope is dim
Questions abound as to why here and now?
All left unanswered, without a clue
So best to withdraw and heart be stilled
Live reliant upon His will divine
With prayer a constant upon my lips
In solitude and peace, my spirit blends
Carried here like a leaf in the wind

Let my eyes celebrate the changing hues
When canopies display their lovely blends,
While leaves transform, embracing vivid views
Let colored leaves fly in fresh autumn winds.
As sweet summer's season slowly transcends
There's glory seen in a crimson sunrise.
Susurrate sounds make music in cool skies.

Steps hold cinnamon leaves in amber light
As days pass, in umber shades, they lay dead.
Pumpkin patches of fire welcome night
As Luna rises putting them to bed.
With silver clouds in lapis skies she's wed.
Harvesting seasoned saffron at its height,
Its ginger strands are part of fall's delight.

Galaxy Spirals

My galaxy spirals in incubation of sacred dream
The 5th element, silent and unseen
Sparks the immortal flame within my skin
Spiritual mother turns my world
The life that is both old and new
Blends in unison and in truth
The maiden sings her song so pure
The mother hums a lullaby of star and moon
The crone groans on in an ancient tongue
