expendable lives
our elderly, sick and poor
benefits denied
D.C. may call the shots now
God is the equalizer

Premium Member The Benefits of God

Give praise to God!
Call upon Him.
The joy is this - that you can call upon Him.

While it is day, before the darkening of days,
sing to Him. Laud his deeds!
Indeed, his deeds are worthy of praise.
He allows this - our praise.
Give praise to God!

Have you considered the wonder
of His works? Consider them now.
Give praise to God!

Glory Hallelujah His name!
His name, Jesus, is above all names.
His fame spreads and He’s victorious.
Seek Him while it is still day.

Seek God and His strength.
His face shines glory forever.

Who forgives all your sins,
heals all your diseases,
redeems your life, is good,
kind, tender with mercy,
satisfies, is pleasant,
renews your youth?

Vengeance is His. God will make things right.
Our time on earth is short. Long is eternity.
Choose wisely. The benefits of God are rich.

The devil pays no dividends - his desserts
are like dust and gravel, whipped cream topped.
It’s not gummy worms that fill your bowl.
It is not brave to eat this stuff.

Choose wisely. Can you see the day
when you stroll, place to place. Each one
brings more pleasure than the last.
O the friends, the company will last,
the joy, the laughter, streets of pure gold,
your loneliness cured, your boredom relieved,
O child of the King! Sing of His wonder,
sing of His benefits, sing with all the saints!

The Benefits of Old Age

As he sat on his old front porch gently rocking his swing.
His old mind a million miles away not really thinking on anything.
Staring into space he just let his old thoughts run free.
Wondering how he got to this place, all alone and lonely as could be.
Just killing time somehow became the daily norm.
Without someone to share your thoughts somehow life can take on a brutal
form.
His children are all grown and they never come by.
They’ve got lives of their own was his reasoning as to why.
Was I this selfish, as he tried to recollect those memories from way, way back.
Maybe I was he thought as he tried to get his thoughts back on to track.
A tear ran down his old face as he got up to go back inside.
The pain was still there too hard for him to hide.
There was nothing left for him to prove, he was just an old man and this he knew.
Everyday played out the same as he longed for this day to be through.
His nights were quite short while his days seemed to never end.
As he sat down at his table and called out to Jesus his only true friend.
He said Father when You’re ready please take me home.
I’m tired of this heartache of living alone.
As he sat at the table he felt a sudden peace.
He felt his soul being lifted in its final release.
With angels all around him he ascended in flight.
Heading for heaven he’d be there fore night.
As he reached Heavens Gate there stood our Lord.
He said I’m sorry but you weren’t ready I know it was hard.
He said I know that you’re ready so please come on in.
There is someone that’s been waiting she is waiting within.

Reaping the Benefits

I can't see the benefits
I'm still taking needless risk
I breathe the same air that Jesus did
I still carry his pain
I have mastered it
I lay it down at his feet
Please forgive me your Majesty
Give me the strength to overcome
Help me in my time of need
When I died to myself wisdom was risen within me
And a vision was given to me
And sorrow flooded my soul
I never take the bed if it's made with nails
I know I must defeat my demons
And I'm there making my bed in hell
And the Lord is with me
And my enemies can still feel the mental strength of my mind still
And that's the benefits

Taxing Benefits

I met a Sheriff the other day.
Just teasing, I happened to say.
I am stopping by to pay my taxes.
Giving you my money before axes,

He said to me, “I get none of that money“.
I looked up in surprise, and thought, how funny.
He and many others forget our taxes pay salaries.
They work for us and their duties are in galleries.

Without working people to pay taxes, they would not be.
They forget these things after office acquired you see.
They pump us up upon the Election Day’s arrival.
Reinstatement in public office is part of survival.

We the people pay for their cars, meals, homes, indeed.
Our money than dispatched into the funds that do seed,
Without the people paying taxes, their jobs would recede.
We the people elect and pay wages, so justice will proceed.

However, many law officials take rules made for all.
Bending them to fit their need, in name of the law,
I have the utmost respect for officers on patrol.
They need to be cautious, to keep crime under control.

However, to break any law, for no reason at all, indeed.
Makes justice suffer, two wrongs make a misdeed,
Their pledge, for no reason at all to break their creed,
Serve and protect, without wrongdoing, as agreed.

An oath, I know they all take and so easily forget after.
Some upon that tomorrow, just ease back in laughter.

Friends With Benefits

Living my life on the Dole*,
Because my Mum told me so,
Interview at ‘McDonalds’, but that Tyrant told me "No!",
See, we're a family with pride,
Don't sell fries at super-size,
But where's the pride,
If I can't provide,
For my own style of life,

Spent my money from the *Brew,
On Irn-Bru**, I swear that’s true,
Dreary, damp & cold, This black hole, I call home,
Only 'joy' I get in life’s the 'stick' I use for X-BOX,
And I aint got a tumble dryer so I step with wet socks,
Work-shy, but money-hungry,
Flats cramp-sized & pretty ugly,
Arrogant guy,
Until I woke up and realised that no-one loves me.

Brain melts to slush, in this non-testing occasion,
‘Gain Work’ is a must, for a teenage Caucasian,
Nothing separating me,
From drug-addled Dads of three,
No payday,
Just giro day,
No jobs… great,
Keep trying mate,

No end in sight as unemployment rises,
Government gives you cash like they were handing out prizes,
Where’s my reason to go out & work? My motivation,
Its pleasing no-one now, this escalated situation,
Experience is something that you earn, not that you’re born with,
Inexperienced forever, if I don’t get employed quick,
I don't enjoy sitting on my broken couch for hours,
I'm your Friend with Benefits, can only wash with cold showers.

Triolet

*Friend with Benefits*

This mountain girl raised in the hills,
A friend with benefits turned more.
No attachments, detached, until.
This mountain girl raised in the hills
A perfect shot, can't get my fill
She tastes like sweet cherry liqueur
This mountain girl raised in the hills,
A friend with benefits turned more.

Premium Member Friends With Benefits

Your friends with benefits are no true friend:
as (au contraire!) your friends when used are a
perverse weed from which you must then defend
against when trust and friendship sweep away;
your friends aren't lovers' toys to be abused
or spent on reckless nights of screwing (them)
where prudence is forsaken and unused
because you just feel like it on a whim.
But if you choose to love your now good friend(s)
then do so at your own risk and danger
as oftener than not you'll in the end
only create just another stranger:
if you err in this but ne'er broke your word,
then this you may forswear you read or heard.

The Benefits of Exercise

All my life I've been extra large plus
I'm known as a very large fellow
I would easily pass as a school district bus
If somebody painted me yellow
"No secret to losing weight" I've been told
"Just cut the fat from your diet"
"Get up and about even if it's cold"
Once again, I decided to try it
But, jogging was something senseless to me
And riding a bike seemed insane
Joining a gym involved a large fee
And lifting weights was a pain
So for exercise I choose horseback riding
It's fun and easier than it sounds
It's a very effective form of dieting
'Cause my horse lost forty pounds

Premium Member Night Time Divorce Benefits

(Haiku)

empty spot on bed. . .
with TV remote in hand
she sprawls across it

(Limerick)

He used to steal every top sheet
and the blankets that covered her feet.
But now that he’s gone,
all the covers stay on.
Even sleeping, she now finds life sweet!

(Couplet)

Divorce might leave a gal lonely and poor.
At least, she won’t be aroused by a snore.

Premium Member Love With Benefits

Could you love
an old white redneck
with HIV,
inhaling too much medicine?

Could you love him
if he were able to listen
without judging,
but commiserating,
curious about nuances,
finding dark humor
transcending rumors
of ego’s timorous tumors
and climatic anthro-terrifying tremblers?

Could you love a sad house-bound poet,
with too many kids of vulnerable colors,
multiculturally married but neurodiversely separated,
haunted by recurring adoption-denied nightmares?

Abandonment
allows suffocation,
nutritional neglect,
dislocation
drowning embryonic surf,
tidal pools of loneliness
propelling salty
dark
dissonant compassions,
emotive compost
organically fueling preoccupations
toward resurfacing light.

Could you love him
if he could know what you feel,
and guess why
and wonder how,
and hope when,
and care where
we might want to hear
and feel and dance and breathe
this sacred co-opera again?

Could you love erotic simplicity
if delivered with truer exotic festivity?

Could you love integrity,
us becoming right synergy
here
and now?

Could we sacred love
exchanging secularized anger management
for musing compassion's
proactive
interactive
interdependent
inter-reconnecting
inter-re-ligious EarthTribe opportunities?

Could you love
these neurodiverse
neuro-sexsensory ones
you are already miraculously singing
and dancing within
without?

Benefits of Extracurricular Activities

Everyone seems happy,
but no one understands what
It feels like to feel badly.

The 60 percent in sports, the 30 percent in clubs,
but I'm 100 percent alone.

All these kids have friends,
have hobbies, they enjoy.
But I can't find a passion,
something to look forward to.

Some people have sports,
something they love.
But that has never interested me,
the way that's intended.

There are some clubs,
but nothing I would like.
I would enjoy having something new,
maybe a writing club or jewelry club or two.

I hear about all the benefits,
but nothing I have felt myself.
All these friends that are made,
I want to enjoy the experience too.

70 percent of students who completed a survey
claim that Extracurriculars help mental health.
But how am I supposed to experience the benefits,
If I have certain limits.

I want to find something I'm passionate about,
I no longer want to feel any doubt.

The art club at school,
seems kinda cool.
I recently joined,
and it so far I can see people's point,
The lonely feeling I felt before,
Has now been restored.

I made a new friend,
we both agree,
that we wish there were clubs for her and me.

I didn't know anyone else felt loss,
until I met her and now I'm fine.

I had some hesitation,
in wondering how it would affect my education.
But so far there has been no problem,
and actually, my grades have actually blossomed.

I'm now a part of that 30 percent,
and trust me my time is well spent.

I wish I had the experience sooner,
cause it does contribute to my future.
Even if it took me awhile,
I can say it's definitely worthwhile.

The Benefits of Being Single

A horrible smell pervades the air,
It really is quite freaky,
It's time for my monthly underwear change,
Perhaps I should change it to weekly.

Or is weekly too much, I think it might be,
Perhaps I should do it fortnightly,
Because using those chemicals that might harm the earth
Isn't something that I take that lightly.

As I peel off my boxers they crackle and creak,
You could cut through the smell with a knife,
I'm single, I know it's hard to believe,
But I just don't want that trouble and strife.

Travel Benefits

Travel benefits.

To broaden my horizon's I travel,
All adventure in my pouch I unravel.

It captures me with a sense of wanderlust,
Direct sunlight and breeze you entrust.

In open air, natural light it throws,
Creativity,confidence is on a grow,

Fresh air swipes on my face,
I get good sleep, this is the case.

New experiences,more knowledge,
More value for home I acknowledge.

My tolerance level for uncertainty has risen,
My real life education I imprison.

It facilitates me to pursue a new path,
Varied cultural exchanges give me bath.

I experience serendipity and synchronicity,
Peace of mind I achieve very honestly.
