Best Be Sick Poems
I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than ninety-nine righteous people who do not need repentance. Luke 15:7
We don't go to the doctor just for the fun of it.
We may be sick, or need a check-up,
or want the doctor's advice about healthy living.
There are many reasons to go to God in prayer
but none as important
as seeking a cure for our spiritual illness
and restoring our relationship with God.
After all, Jesus says
there will be great joy in heaven
over the one who repents.
When we repent, we come to ourselves in truth
and recognise our very real need
for God's forgiveness.
Then, we are ready to be washed in God's love.
Loving God,
you know everything that is in our hearts.
Help us to trust in your love
that we may turn to you in our sinfulness and be healed.

Adventures of Robin Hood and his Merry Men.
No1.
Robin’s Thick Member
We wuz out huntin that day
Ah remembers as plain as can be
When a ansome buck came us way
Fust to shoot was me mate Unlucky
Now that buck he just looked in us faces
With an air of his royal decree
Displayin his arrogunt graces
At the arra there stuck in the tree
Ah says, “Robin, he won’t be best pleased
At missin his dinner agen
Your damn good at arrain trees
An pissin off his merry men”
If we goes back to camp with no meal
That maid, she will giv us sum stick
She’ll shove us sum manky old veal
An the merry men will all be sick”
Then Unlucky he says that he saw
Over there be-ind the rockery
A big ol boy of a boar
But his arra, yes, it foun a tree
Stood Marion with expectation
The night would be one great party
But after me grand explanation
We was whipped a foot up from the knee
Then Robin “Unlucky”, he says
“You’s a poor shot as all us can see
If that buck agen inter view strays
Just bloomin well aims fer the tree.
Coz averages seem to dictate
You could bag that buck if you tried
If only you’d concentrate
An wern’t so bloody cross eyed”
So Unlucky he thinks to his sen
I’ll show them a thing or two
That big head an his stinky men
Will be dinin on best red deer stew
Once more he foun his sen afore
That deer who was showin no fear
He watched as his arra did soar
Past that grinnin bucks twitchin left ear
But wait, that buck he was down
His hooves in the air on his back
The arra that just missed his crown
Had given him sheer heart attack
He was cheered when he got back to camp
An the night became one great party
With a bow he was proclaimed a champ
An no longer known as Unlucky.
Dad can I have that big red balloon?
There's only one left, and he'll sell it soon
It's not like a goldfish, it won't have to be fed
or that pink candy floss, which sticks to my head
Dad can I have that big red balloon?
I won't ask for anything else 'till next June
Not even a ride on the ghost train today
A balloon would be better in every way
Dad can I have that big red balloon?
Don't want to fly in a ship to the moon
Dodging green men as we whizz on the way
I'd probably be sick for the rest of the day
Dad can I have that big red balloon?
Yes my boy, I'll buy you that balloon
I'm not a mean man I just wanted to know
that you really want it, come on let's go
Son here you go, a big red balloon
your hearts great desire fulfilled before noon
We've gone to the fair, we'll have such fun
With you and your balloon out in the sun
Dad, can I have some pink candy floss?
I wore my pretty pink dress; you told me
I looked quite divine. Nervously I walk
through the door, your ma wails like a banshee,
but I clear my dry throat and try to talk.
A spotlight shines brightly over my head -
it's just like an interrogation! Quick
questions fired like bullets fill me with dread;
I want to run from the room and be sick
Your mother is a monster! I pity
you; and loathe the way she silenced your dad!
Please come and live with me in the city
or move into your own bachelor pad
One day she could be my mother in law,
I must zip my lip, or it could be war!

In "Honor of God" I will not be a White Racist,Black Racist,Red Racist,Yellow Racist,Brown Racist or practice Racism. God created us,Red,Yellow,Brown ,Black, and White, and we all are precious in his sight: I know that I am "NOT Wrong": I know I am right! "In "Honor of God" I will not be a "Racist"! In "dishonor of God the "Racist" functions,in the Church,in the Media,in the schools,in the police department,in the hospital,in the grave yard, and in many other places, and dishonors God by being a "Criminal by way of being a "Racist"!God has a unique ,and diverse "Creation",and that reality is factual ,and certain!! We see it right before our very eyes, and that makes us who are loving and kind very wise!! A "Racist'''' believes untrue lies that is embeded in their sick minds ,as they are fed lies through their "Eyes"!Unjustifiable Hatred is another name for a "Racist". It was a Sunday morning, and a sermon was being preached, and The Pastor was ready to teach:The Pastor got up and said:"IN HONOR OF GOD " MY CREATOR",I will not be a "RACIST". Eight people got up and left the church, and all eight of them seemed to be sick,as they stumbled out the door, and three of them fell to the floor. The Pastor of the church repeated his statement ,ans said:IN HONOR OF GOD WHO IS MY CREATOR I WILL NOT BE A RACIST OR PRACTICE RACISM. The Church said AMEN.
I fear most Church steeples are drowning in sin
And like Country Clubs, cater to folks acting part,
Way too holy for sinner, too blessed to be sick,
Always blaming the victim, God’s grace a lost art.
The rich are the only ones sure of God’s love!
Though it's faux pas, reflection might still do them good.
In the poorest of sinners who wishes you well,
God embraces true saint for he's done all he could!
The rich overconfident, poor in the dumps,
God gets lost in the shuffle of privilege and blame
But the judgment of others is sin for us all,
Being rich can’t buy Halo, the poor own no shame.
If I attend church then because it is grand
Tell me how do I know I’m not worshiping wealth?
God's Word taught to grow riches or enrich the heart?
Does disciple need palace's comforts for health?
Collecting vast wealth just to hoard is a sin!
How’d you come by your talents, if not gift from God?
Do you find the best way or trust God for a plan?
Those who wait on the Lord feel OK being odd!
To find the right church though is simple in fact -
Humble is the right track, “Son of God” the right train!
You were loved long before His creation began,
Only sick people welcome, "God’s Grace" Church refrain.

No one likes me - they put me on a register,
you must be sick they told me, yes you're right;
my mother made an amazing statement - like this:
'There was nothing more exciting than a twelve year old boy.'
Let's digress: all these things happen in the animal kingdom,
we are supposed to be of higher intelligence and morals,
animals have no knowledge of God or human morals,
they have their own codes, territorial and hierarchy.
That being said, humans are animals, behavioural;
we come to another idea - God should nudge us back on track,
he created us, has responsibility, not hide behind 'man-made,'
no wonder his fantastic creation, design, began to fade.
I'm locked away now, I know it's best if I don't get out,
perhaps you can tell me -what was God's plan really all about.

Echoes of years ago
Rushing to Jounieh port
Under cover of night
The harbor being shelled
“NO lights
NO lights!!!!
Not even a cigarette
Get on the speed boat
Hurry…HURRY!"
Cyprus…a blessed few hours away
If only we can speed away
On this fastest speed boat in the world
Sent to rescue
I’m going to be sick
Waves hitting the windows
As we listen for the sound of whistling bombs
Listening
Waiting to be blown out of the water
Will we make it?
Will we make it????
Palpable tension in the suffocating darkness
Now…TODAY
Memories struggling to gain attention
"Restrict movement
No again unnecessary trips
War is around the corner
Be careful!"
I’m scared
But mostly....
I’m tired
The sounds of war…
have not yet died out from my ears
The sights of devastation…
have not yet left my vision
The fear of death
has not yet left my heart
And now….
It resurfaces
Pulling out of the tomb
The ghost of war passed
NOW…new threats
New dreams on hold
Lives again on HOLD
ON HOLD
We were not meant to dream
We were not meant to live
Free
I’m sick
I’m sick of hearing about it
I’m sick of the world being silent
I’m sick of worrying about where to go…
I’m sick of thinking of those who will die
And the country that will be left
In utter anarchy and chaos
As the others in the region
This region of bloodshed and strife…
“There shall be wars and rumors of wars
Nation shall rise against nation
Because iniquity shall abound
The love of many shall wax cold
There shall be earthquake
Pestilence
Distress of Nations
Famine
Signs in the sun, moon, and stars
When these things begin to come to pass
LOOK UP
FOR YOUR REDEMTION DRAWETH NIGH.”
These are the signs of the times
He is coming
He is at the door….
Heaven will burst open
And He will come triumphant
AND EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM....
Nothing secret about His coming
ARE YOU READY
FOR THE COMING PRINCE OF PEACE?
Then finally, FINALLY
Worry and fear
The bloodshed
And every war
WILL CEASE….
FINALLY
Oh, LORD JESUS, FINALLY
We can have

Costly Reprieve
by Jason Williams
A hypnotic ritual
Holding utensil to flame
It hurts to see the bubbling
But I’ve no one else to blame
I do not care for anyone
I only care for me
About the next fix to get
That's all that I can see
Cotton brushes against skin
The tourniquet stretches tight
My despair will soon be over
I’ll have peace all through the night
An artificial cure I know
Needle piercing flesh and vein
Get me through the night I pray
I have to end the pain
Escape despair is what I seek
By any means that I can find
Even if it's just for hours,
I leave despair behind
When I wake I will be sick
I’ll be broke, I cannot win
I’ll find a way to make it
Then I’ll do it all again.
Is this the life I wish to lead?
Will I ever again be me?
Is there a life beyond repair?
Will I ever again be free?
READY? GO!
Ready?
GO!
Round the ramp and up we go
Hold it, wall, stop! Slow!
This is not fair, you have
A motor in there
I have to use my hands!
Watch out, where that gurney stands?
Don’s crash into it, ouch, it lands
On top of me, poor skinny guy
You shut up, lift me, try!
Man, some race this is, don’t laugh,
Sitting here against the wall
You go and call a nurse, be quick
I think I’m going to be sick.
No more racing? To my room?
Ohhh, the doom and gloom!
That's it for today, my friend
Don’t you snicker, it’s not the end!
I’ll get you, some day
Not today, but certainly not far away!
A Hard Beginning
The cough continues.
My head... aches,
but there are needles in my eyes,
that will not stop poking my lids.
Everything hurts today,
that did not hurt yesterday.
Today all things that hurt
yesterday, have found new
purpose in their vendetta
against me.
It is hard to be sick,
especially when there are things to do.
I want to go and dance and play.
I want to sing, where no one can hear me,
so I can be loud and strong,
about my emotions.
That, without hurting the feelings of others,
I could belt out my favorite tune.
Yet, here I am coughing into my elbow,
wishing that my rib cage would quit,
rattling.
It is just a cold, but it has traveled badly,
down into my chest, far and deep.
I wish that I had listened,
about wearing my coat,
to the New Years Ice Skating Contest,
at the North Pole.
The place was so pretty,
and the magic all real,
that I could not face the idea,
of covering up,
instead...
I swam with the penguins,
visiting from the south.
I talked to the mammoth bear,
from Alaska, and arm wrestled for an hour.
I swam in the punch,
lifted the whole reindeer gang,
up on the end of a candy cane,
spinning in the storm,
of snowflakes...
started by the windmill,
made from holly and grape vines of candy.
I will never forget
and neither will they.
We flew two states over in a jet,
skied from Mt Hood past the fence,
where they keep the ashes.
Gray still from a long time ago.
My cough did not gain
a grip on me, until the helicopter landed.
Then it was too late,
to put on my coat,
do the right thing
and go home early.
The best New Year,
sometimes starts with a rough patch,
but the rest is all garden parties and
politics from here.
Prayers
for
your
day,
the first day,
of the new year,
the last chance to say goodbye,
and try to be okay with tomorrow.
PLEASE GIVE ME A TICKET, I'M READY, HE SIGHED.
I'M READY TO TAKE THIS FERRIS WHEEL RIDE
I'VE HEARD IT'S THE FASTEST AND TALLEST THAT BE
SO GIVE ME A TICKET TO SEE WHAT'S TO SEE.
RIDING IT'S PETALS UP HIGH AND ALONE
CIRCLING MADLY IT'S BLOOM IS A THRONE
OIL, IT'S PERFUME FOR A SQUEAK AND A SPIN
OH WHAT A FLOWER TO BE RIDING IN
ALL THE WORLD STAYS BELOW LIKE A FAR AWAY DREAM
THAT COMES ZOOMING UP CRAZY LIKE AN INFINITE STREAM
OF COLORS AND MAGIC THAT BLOWS THROUGH YOUR HAIR
EXCITING YOUR SENSES UNTIL IT'S NOT THERE
IT'S A THOUSAND EYED GIANT, A WINKING OLD MAN
TUMBLING YOU HAPPILY ALL OVER THE LAND
COME ON MR. WHEEL, BREAK LOOSE FROM THIS SPACE

HAVING SEEN ALL THERE IS IN THIS FABULOUS SPIN
THEN EAT CANDIED APPLES AND NEVER BE SICK
AND BE HOME BEFORE SUPPER ALICKITY SPLIT
I can't believe how much I've grown
From the little girl I've known
Who was very scared and shy
Hoping one day I could try
To find others who could be
Part of a community
I was in for quite a while
Showing all my unique style
And behaviors I possess
I just wanted to confess
I felt so lonely each day
Friends would never come my way
When they found out all my quirks
They became ignorant mean jerks
Just because I wouldn't do
Bad things others wanted me to
Like taking drugs to get a thrill
From a needle or a pill
Or drinking till you'd be sick
Isn't something I would pick
Blowing smoke into the air
From cigarettes, I didn't care
To join in any of these
I just wanted to be free
From all this insanity
Sex and partying was not
A part of my wholesome heart
Being myself I would keep
Knowing somewhere way down deep
Others were being harrassed
Being kicked out, it wont last
I'd rather be a geeky nerd
Than part of a stuck up herd
I will find true friends one day
Who wont abandon me and stray
We will have fun never ending
And the vibes we will be sending
To each other will be of
Accepting caring and love
My flower
My precious flower
The flower that gave out many flowers
Flowers including me.
You were my flower
Yes, the mother flower
The flower that withered without been sick.
I knew one day we might depart
You first or me
But I never thought of you
Just departing so fast, so easily, so silently
Without a good bye..!
you were not old; Matronly beautiful
You marked the beauty of our world
you made the scent of our garden
The light of our heaven.
I always prayed for you to wait a little
Just few minutes to see me grow
I dreamed you to enjoy my flowers
The new garden I'm creating from my seeds.
I wanted you to mentor the little roses of mine
How to be beautiful in and out
How to be beautiful forever.
Why you choose not to wait a little?
Why you just go that way?
What grub made you shrivel?
What Pupa withered you so fast?
Tell me...
Who should I blame then...
you or the creator of the chrysalis?
I just don't know
For sure, my heart will be sick forever.
I too believe
Flowers have more purposes than the bringing of fruit
So that all of me is not known
Though dig to the bedrock of my root
And I have feared that I shall go away
Before the golden fleece
Of many colors set me laughing at sun, moon and stars
And ever walked between the morning and the evening
Avoiding Martha's doubt
And the tears
From the depth of veiled despair
It is not evening etherized here
But common dust
When every atom is built by faith
I am sick today
And was sick yesterday
And again they brought me
To the gate Beautiful
After he was swallowed in the clouds
Yet I did not wait like Lazarus
For I too
Can be sick unto death
With these two voyagers:
Goodness and mercy
On eagle's wings and loaded with sunshine
Piloting me.
