Notes About The Poem

Quote found after the poem was written, but I think it fits the poem perfectly!

Scary First Meeting

I wore my pretty pink dress; you told me I looked quite divine. Nervously I walk through the door, your ma wails like a banshee, but I clear my dry throat and try to talk. A spotlight shines brightly over my head - it's just like an interrogation! Quick questions fired like bullets fill me with dread; I want to run from the room and be sick Your mother is a monster! I pity you; and loathe the way she silenced your dad! Please come and live with me in the city or move into your own bachelor pad One day she could be my mother in law, I must zip my lip, or it could be war! Tim says to take the high road, but I'd take any road that leads away from that scary woman. I see trouble ahead if she gets into that marriage bed. RUN!

Yes, take the high road... you'll have plenty of time to talk about her later when she is gone. Who knows she might just be overprotective of her boy...but I doubt it...lol

Oh I went out with a guy this Tim in fact we nearly got engaged lol but she would have been the mother in law from hell and I bailed out. He couldn't make a decision without consulting his mother:-( hugs Jan xx
