What is a man without the woman he loves,
searching for his lady like lonesome doves.
As his heart connects with the one he adores,
his soul will yearn to meet upon any shores.
When he comforts her mind with a loving grace
and the love of his life begins to reign his space,
nothing is ever the same, for she sets him aflame.
As the rhythm of her heart resonates his name.
He will whisper romantic musings - so sweet,
as her elegance makes his heart skip a beat.
He'll soothe her pain with his gentleman like charm.
Shelter her in his arms from those that cause harm.
He hears the sound of every breath she takes,
greeting with a pleasant smile as she awakes.
Promising a day filled with heavenly dreams,
embracing longingly as her happiness gleams.
Promising to deliver, receiving messages she sent,
he'll bring her the moon if that's what she meant.
Sacrificing his life, gallantly to conquer every climb,
searching for what she wants till the end of time.
Through the window of her soul he explores deep,
banishing all demons that cause her to weep.
Polishes her heart to prevent it from rust,
making sure his diamond does not collect dust.
A real man loves with his soul, not eyes of lust.
Shows her loyalty and builds a loving trust.
He can see their unborn children in her eyes,
as they embrace he knows where their future lies.

I was a planetary climatologist, who studied climate variability and change,
Like sweet variability of stunning, green tulips, in lavish garden rearranged.
Studying the said effects on the biosphere, absorbed so many daily hours,
Like industrious days of fragrant, amber honey, after tumbling into flowers.
My labors impacted energy usage, along with food production and health,
And the survival of endangered species, like golden rays of natural wealth.
Faddish flowers fascinated friends, who flattered them, at my broad fence,
Under fleecy, lemony clouds, fast moving, and orange sun, grown intense.
Famished, feasible family feasted, in lavish flowering fragrance of Fridays,
When fugitive, frosty stars flickered, winking at green garden bonsai trees.
I lived in the house of emerald echoes, in vivid memory of nature's sound,
From birdsong to crickets to evening wind, and brook of babbling renown.
Sachets swept away a sudden sadness, as robins sought another summer,
On my street of starry-eyed forget me nots, like a tune with no drummer.
Nobody knew latest neighborhood news, like my nearest friends next door,
Like chameleon sun, crisscrossing teal sky, wholly ignorant of 'nevermore.'
Pink birds were living high, and red butterflies viewed a world, ultraviolet;
And yellow bees went about their sweet labors, since queen bee desired it.
Strawberry clouds sailed around the world, for clouds ever love adventure,
As dogwoods barked in summer's dog days, during a gold noon surrender.
As I was walking home one day, the sun vanished as skies turned ominous.
There was a lightning flash just before the thunder, loud and cacophonous!
Suddenly, I saw a male face in the clouds, that was bellowing and enraged,
Like blizzard winds through naked trees, howling at a lush year that's aged.
Taken aback, like butterflies in gusts, I had come face to face with thunder-
The mighty, furious face of the storm, and I was filled with sudden wonder!
Then came the silver rains, sideways slanting, at the dead end of drought;
And I raced home like all uneasy nature, in the successive hours of doubt.
Scintillating sun had returned next day, after banishing the tangerine mist,
As benevolent nature was no more angry, its tale ending in an orange twist!

Live Or Die, You Couldn't Do Both
Upon that dark ground, life was bloody and blue
all dark mists brought more than was due.
Dusty storms, blew about with black hands of Fate
lost as hurt seemed to escalate.
Within hidden shrouds, nights ate sad, dying souls
you cried within odd rhythmic rolls.
Never again, never again, your sworn oath
live or die, you couldn't do both.
Crying for rest on that spirit-eating ground
dancing along but with no sound.
Whenever that rare day's gleaming sun did shine
you grabbed it fierce, saying its mine.
Greatest of dreams was life would find saving lights
hope shown, banishing blackest nights.

Brandishing the lightning lance, the sun arrives,
The mighty, majestic monarch of the day.
Kissing the mouldy mountain rows, he comes
Banishing mist and frost from night’s blotched brow.
In what rich ruby ring of radiance, he appears
Smearing and splotching liquid gold, he gracefully moves
With sparkling splashes, the world becomes bright
The prompt and punctual rooster raises his raucous revelry.
Birds and beasts wake up from their slumberous sleep.
The feathered folks tweet and twitter in harmonious notes.
The verdant vales below send up a welcoming sign.
The leaves stay bright tipped with dainty droplets of dew.
Morn, the bashful, mousy maiden with modest grace,
Peeps and peeks through half drawn curtains in the East.
Removing all trace of a tarnished yesterday,
The day arrives making me smile in burgeoning bliss.

Alliteration
Quite far we have traversed, in pursuit of goals we chose,
Through troubles and trepidations of seasons in throes;
Sometimes reveling sunshine, sometime in glum of shadows,
Always together~ on barren terrains, or verdant meadows.
In albums of yore, we ruminate now, turning pages of life,
Banishing anguish of feelings-forlorn, fuming in strife;
Reminiscing in moments passionate, of love sublime,
Treasured in memories-beloved, accumulated over time.
Harboring wisdom, inlaid in life’s waning phase, as we age,
In realms of reflections, insights-sapient, now we engage;
Learning from knowledge gained, from choices we made,
Accepting with grace, laments of secrets, as yet unsaid.
Regrets unmitigated, voice remorse of unuttered sigh,
Seeking empathy from goodwill of repentant goodbye;
As life tallies good versus bad, that introspections confide,
Eying a tranquil state of mind, devoid of hate and pride.
It’s time to reflect, it’s time to mend, it’s time to befriend,
As journey of life, beaming content, approaches its end;
Living final days in covenants revered, humbly we penned,
Elevating self, in peace of bliss, to heavens we shall ascend.

What now of heroes can I speak
Who raise the mild and loft the meek
Bequeathing glory, love untold
With ne’re a thought their heart unfolds
A spirit bright so kind are they
Their own life’s pain they hide away
Their selfless gifts cast near and far
They’ll hand you moons and cast you stars
In what choice god you do believe
He’s planted in them kindness seeds
With selfless stealth they will achieve
To garnish souls with ruby beads
Intentions oft misunderstood
They only know how to do good
Altruistic warrior hearts
Empathy is their unique art
Incognito these ones remain
Actions speaking louder than fame
Gifted with words to comfort pain
Casting rainbows, banishing rain
Unsung heroes they will remain
Singing their songs without refrain
Broken angels with hidden wings
Healing souls whilst weaving heart strings.

The future holds no premium
For a person brawling with their past.
There are no birds in last year's nest.
There are no rememberings to unmask.
Memories are the fruits of our existence
Where some bloom and some may die
When exposed to an aura of understanding
Life's lessons shall provide.
'Tis Human to learn from our mistakes...
Making bold of life's infections
Slathering a healthy dapple of forgiveness
As we sinners surmise a new direction.
We should freely right past wrongs...
Banishing past transgressions to the night
As the journey may task our very soul...
So it's best to travel light.
I no longer fear a backward glance
Or the breeze of yesteryear.
I have made my bed and here I lie
With a spirit crystallized and clear.
I ignore the minions who dredge my past...
Casting forth their hellish stones...
As I eagerly embrace one of God's greatest gifts...
Which is a future yet unknown.

A huge shout out to my dear friend, Eileen, for creating a wonderful memory with this collaboration. There is a vital lesson when moments like this are created: The cure to uncertainty is togetherness. May we all make more memories like this. Friendships, real ones, are a commodity.
Surrounded by impenetrable marble
A stained glass perception
Milks dignity from dilapidated pores
I stare unto retribution’s flame
Gliding softly on waxy façade
Holding the hand of a friend
I hold on,
Strength
Waning
Distorted view of reality
Piercing inner sanctum
Veil of peace
Tranquility
Torn asunder
Set aflame
Melancholic facades
Dripping in hardened tears
Waxy build-up
Inner core of existence
Reality
Licked by burning infernos,
Extinguished
I hold on…
Holding the hand of a friend
We raise eagle’s wing
Banishing oppressive lips
Venomous soliloquies
Tasting alliterated misdirection
Uninvited to solace’s peak
Our time is now
Our time is now!
Our time
Turning hourglass sands
Into horizontal awakenings
This eloquent candle will never wane.
Our strength faces resurgence
Your hands to mine
My soul awakened, revived
Our orange-hued sands of time
Reversing ravages of melting tears
Candle light, incandescent,
Burning
But not melting
On this night
Burning,
But no hesitant flickers,
On this night
Generating heat of bonded hands
Bonded minds
Burning flame of mystery
Light
I hold on to your hand.
This is our time
OUR TIME!
Words set to eternal flame
Oh, yes.
This eloquent candle shall never wane.

Peace again rules My~Day~
Comforting.... in a pleasant light hearted way
Nature draws me near
Banishing all my fear
Thank You Lord
For giving me Light
Holding me Dear through the Night
It is a Choice that we make
A Dream this Love must not forsake
Take my hand and come with me
There is nothing if you follow the dark
Eventually you become the mark
It is never to late to swallow your pride
Humble is a lasting stride.....

Temple of the Gods
Within the realities, unseen deified admits a parallel preen
A shielded smokescreen for their succus is made unclean

A calumnious convene in illusions that dered and demean

For their mendacious meddle we are the reifier of our vessel
We wilfully wrestle and retire in our denned deceived nestle

I open her book of poetry
When I need to run away.
Serenity washes over me,
Banishing stresses of the day.
Her melodic rhymes entice me,
My imagination begins to soar.
The kind of poet I strive to be,
Her work leaves me wanting more.
Passionate words and phrases
In rhyme and rhythmic flow.
Each poem awes and amazes
Causing my inspiration to grow.
She writes with flourish and with flair.
A poetess beyond compare.

Expectations
Triumphant note of a magnolia's pearly white
Wakens the sleeping ground,
Beautiful ballerina
Impressing all around.
Herself the spotlight.
Brave fragile snowdrops light the woods' darkness,
Fluting, keen, white and green
Like panpipes in Peruvian mountain scene
Banishing starkness.
Each year we come to see this lovely sight....
Now, Spring's within our scope,
From Winter's chains we're free.
Like children now, our hearts are light:
Pilgrims and Druids we,
Embracing light and hope!

Italian Sonnet
There is nothing left of life
that death cannot resolve,
times velocity spins on stolen lips
and minute pieces of adamantine
pierce the edge of soles
worn with pain
----
Right here,
Where night and dawn merge
the membrane strains
cleaving, as shade blackens blue
for mere milli seconds
Standing in the hollows of night
still, watching forever shimmering
in the shadowed corner of my eye,
I, me, always a curious creature
swallow bricks and mortar
tasting truth
In my head an orchestra plays
the symphonies composed of my life
strings wring my heart with melodies
wrought in pain and self-loathing
shame and eventual surrender
to the beat
But,
in the beauty of renewal
in the peace of your reflections
I've wondered at the universe
memorizing the mysteries unsolved
ever tantalized neurons smashed
awakening ever and over again
Sleep has been a foreign land
settled by the fortunate
longed for by the tortured
spirits of my mind
Yet in these dark magnificent galaxies
when snores softly sigh in peace
or monsters haunt your dreams,
I have watched millennia of mourning
shatter the promise of darkness evermore,
I wondered as sunshine held a drop of dew
and as light of hope captured the ghosts of night
banishing them forevermore, or until nights edge
I am a watcher and a teller of tales
Singer of forbidden songs and tragedy,
downtrodden, I rose to fight again and again
with a schizophrenic mind harnessed
within the beauty of a single star
and the promise of humanity
in the kindness of a strangers touch
Now at the end of all journeys
my final battle lays in that
which I know not, shackled
that foreign land whisks me away
again and again, dreams cease
as moisture rolls from my brow
---
Slowly, slowly, slowly
winding down into nothingness
Gently, gently, gently
I will lay down your cries of grief
My words aren’t never-ending
my breath will someday cease
Yet true beauty and wonder lies
in the wondrous infinity of peace
just look into these eyes overflowing with pain
know !! there will be an end, even that shall ease ...

Free verse
It's a ball and you kick it
Seems simple enough
But it's more than a game
'cos you have to be tough
I'm not talking a buzz-cut
Or some scars from a fight
For this resolve is internal
Overlook it, you might
You may cuss, scowl or spit
That doesn't impress
Now this game's claimed by women
Swapping shorts from a dress
And the girls that will follow
In their thousands for sure
In competitive joy
This old game has it's cure:
It is teamwork and faith
It is laughter and tears
It is training like crazy
It is banishing fears
There's never been greater
A reason or rhyme
To describe this potential..
Ladies - this is your time
For the men have inspired us
Reaching dizzying heights
But the women converting
So many wrongs into rights
Take tenacity, love
Add a wholesome respect
Work ethic unriveled
With the fans they connect
Crossing boundaries, restoring
All that seemed far apart
The game has been longing for
This feminine heart

Monomaniacal Mist
I am the finite of the infinite for the shadows bleed my presence
My habitual hunger is imminent and toxicant time is of the essence
Like the serpent swallowing sorrows slithering to sanitize your soul
In view of marauding morrows whispering winds wavering console
As a malodorous mist, I appear a demi-god of recyclable tangled time
A fallen angel fostering fear bringing forth a new pernicious paradigm
I come within denigrative dreams a diabolical debacle demanding end
A Svengali of silent screams an oblivious organism that will transcend
A jaded jackal conjured by the broken hearts withering to their demise
The grotesque genie that departs only to enslave before it’s downsize
I am the confiscating conqueror of night banishing your barren breath
Like a fallacious futile frostbite a feculent frozen fire ... for I am death.
