Expectations

Expectations

Triumphant note of a magnolia's pearly white
Wakens the sleeping ground,
Beautiful ballerina
Impressing all around.
Herself the spotlight.
Brave fragile snowdrops light the woods' darkness,

Fluting, keen, white and green
Like panpipes in Peruvian mountain scene
Banishing starkness.

Each year we come to see this lovely sight....
Now, Spring's within our scope,
From Winter's chains we're free.
Like children now, our hearts are light:
Pilgrims and Druids we,
Embracing light and hope!

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

My feelings about spring in an Italian Sonnet felt amazing to read. Nicely inked Jo. I am a fan,

Banishing starkness, it did, it brightened up my morning. Beautiful, well penned... Best wishes Mick

Not an Italian Sonnet--call it free verse
