Haiku as an art:
To paint a canvas broadly,
With tiny brush strokes.

Autumn Awakes

Rustling ochre, crimson leaves all daylong,
A coolness settles, shorter days advanced,
Easterlies, westerlies, tradewinds strong,

Southward birds fly, so parts summer birdsong,
Mid leaves lay spiked beech, acorn--care enhanced,
Rustling ochre, crimson leaves all daylong,

Sweetness in brambles flourished berries throng,
Black, elder, wild rasp--touched tastebuds danced,
Easterlies, westerlies, tradewinds strong,

Favored spots, here and there, all lists are long,
'Tis time hearts invent for landscape has entranced,
Rustling ochre, crimson leaves all daylong,

Deep verdant Ivy becomes, draped headlong,
Few flowers blooms hugged flown insects instanced,
Easterlies, westerlies, tradewinds strong,

Harvested tabled, prayers blessed belong,
Autumn picturesque, surroundings felt...glanced,
Rustling ochre, crimson leaves all daylong,
Easterlies, westerlies, tradewinds strong.

Night Awakes Fear

Walking alone in the middle of the night
Holding hands with the cold in the pale moon light

I hear more than my footsteps; look over my back
The shadows from the trees were on the attack

I walked a bit faster, my heart began to race
The mist from my breath teased the skin on my face

Should I make a right? But I look to the left
In between my imagination and reason sat a cleft

I began to panic, but what the heck for?
Because fear was of the essence and nothing more

Sounds ricocheted off of who knows where
Like a scene displaced from your worst nightmare

Something was watching or following me
I was just waiting for something to jump out of a tree

Or grab my shoulder or touch my back
Causing me to urinate before I have a heart attack

I took a deep breath and leaned against the next street light
It must be my mind playing tricks on me tonight

Premium Member The House Awakes

The morning stroll from room to room
Photos and paintings adorn the walls
Smile and stop, family groups, happy and sad
The camera captures good and bad

My laughter rings out, memories surface
Weddings and celebrations captured on film
Moments in time, thoughts drift elsewhere
Faces so lifelike include those no longer here

Say a greeting then move on
Study paintings, such amazing detailed scenery
The early morning stillness of an empty house
Climb the stairs, upstairs awaits its turn

Photos of older members of the family
All acknowledged with utmost respect
Sounds of breathing, realised it is your own
The stairs are a challenge, you should have known

The end of a pathway reached for today
Retraced steps, ready for daily frays
Stand at the front door as I have many times before
Listening to the house waking from its slumber

Creaks and groans, a breeze from who knows where
My laughter erupts, memories of loved ones
Stop, listen, enjoy sounds we usually do not hear
Life’s hustle and bustle awaits, onward and upward

Awakes My Garden

Seemingly, sudden,
Restful sleep all but over.

Wild tricolored Irises, vivid white, sun centered, Shasta Daisies,
And Cosmos of azures, fuchsias and buttery cups;
Babies breathing, eager to begin once again,
In order to forsake the bronze, soft textured crustiness
Of the newly milled mulching caps, as they race for
The viewer and the gazer's glorious prize.

Even with a long and empty storehouse,
The beautiful bachelors and bachelorettes
All remember how to drink
From natures vase,
And where to turn their faces
For one fleeting and lasting
Ray of purpose.

Dawn Awakes My Love

At breaking dawn's shimmering, golden jubilee
Your blond locks pair with luminosity
As glimmering pearl swirls o'er blue seas
Your satin, silky skin glints in complicity
As each, flaring ray shares its warm soliloquy
Your glistening eyes beam back passionate colloquy
As creamy strokes paint blithe serenity
Your dreamy folds sculpt tranquility
As expanding ridge colors seamless infinity
Your noble brow sketches in solidarity
As mounting disk releases streams of virility
Your arching, silted bosom yields night's equity

Pain body awakes,
The soul becomes quiet,
Mind produces thoughts
In this state, there is no succor

Premium Member The Body Awakes

The body awakes, another day of life
Message sent, who is in charge?
I am, I am, loud and strong
Logical thinking needs a chance.

Who is first in the queue?
Is it touch or is it sight?
Think it through
No need to fight.

The brain sits there smiling,
Nothing can happen
Unless permission was given.
Back and forth the game continues

Ideas and suggestions flowing
The brain gets bored of interaction.
Makes a statement, time running out
Decide method of satisfaction.

Everything goes quiet, lost for words
Brain persists with lesson actions,
Without permission, nothing will happen.
Eyes send signals, need interpreting

Hands join the action, hot, cold, hard, soft,
hot, do not touch, cold, pain received,
Hard, touched without reaction,
Soft, you squeeze, satisfaction,

Messages received; thanks are given.
All goes quiet, where did the sound come from?
I am the voice; can I join in?
Boredom now joins the din

No return to bodily discussions,
Tired now eyes are closing.
Through the night, the heart beat steadily
Resisting the chance to say, sleep soundly my children.

Beneath the Pages Written a Great Horror Awakes

I clasp my hands upon the cheeks of a sinful man's cheeks defenestrate him as he flies in the sky away from the house he was cast out of only for me to feel dysentery my belly opens up. From the protruding from my belly, a tumor with an almost human face vomiting serpents coalesced with the head of iguanas and connected to my tumor. The man whom I threw came back tenfold a battle ending with one kingdom standing to bare witness to something older coming for us all.

Reality Awakes

In my dreams i scream so free
As i awake I scream to thee

In my dreams I love you, please!

when I awake your love flys free
away from me within my dreams

In my dreams I scream to thee!

A Night Worker Awakes

As I slip awake this frosty morn
Heart feeling heavy, I don't know why
Blinking sleepy eyed,a little confused
Bed clothes contorted somewhat awry

Realizing I have more nights off work
Warms my heart with a smile debuting
Sleep leaves the eyes of my disguise
Of a man that knows just what he's doing

I'm greeted warmly by my sweet wife
Who hands me coffee she made for me
This is the best way to start the day
With Love and coffee don't you agree?

Premium Member Dawn Awakes

Autumn's moon truly radiant and playful,
In a stippled and midnight blue hues.

Fragile is the troth with nature.
    Falling, trembling, withered leaves,
      Drift throughout gravel beneath;
Dapple shadow cast across the ground in stillness.

Silence surge as nascent darkness draws.
Snappish breeze, spring up slicing through darkness,
Lays a gentle kiss, and it slowly fades.

Stillness, a breath, the wakeful light of dawn awakes.
