That would be a very awesome but scary scene and horrible if a person was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I enjoyed reading this creative one. Sara

It is awesome. One of my daughter's has stood on a bridge watching a flash flood heading down a wide dry river. Our rivers were dried up after the damming of the Colorado, and the aquafers are dreadfully low, trying to support big cities. Rivers and springs dried up, and it is sad. The springs that were prolific in my grandmother's day, are not to be seen. It seems like payback time when the rushing flash floods come raging. You certainly do not want to be in its way, but it happens, sadly. From the river banks, it is a celebration though, exciting to see the rivers flowing if only for a little while.

Hi Kim! Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my poem! My daughter was able to catch a dry river as a flashflood came rolling in miles from any rain, it was amazing, and pretty terrifying at the same time. It was raging beneath the bridge in almost no time!

Thank you Mark! I appreciate hearing from you. I've been away for a bit and find it so good when I'm able to get back on here and find encouraging comments. I was super encouraged when I read something you wrote to a rude person that was from down under...I looked for him after reading your powerful comment, "Don't bash the US!!" I was so proud of you, even if I couldn't find what it was that made you stand so wonderfully strong in our country's defense <3 Hope you're doing well, and bravo again, that was marvelous!

Thank you Harry, it's exciting when the rivers are flowing, but so dangerous if you happen to be crossing when those flash floods come roiling down the usually dry riverbeds. It does seem like a kind of angry revenge. Tonight I was ready to cross a usually dry river bed where the road goes down and back up, it was dry tonight, but it has caught folks unaware. It's a bit chilling, I stop, look both ways, then pedal to medal race through, and noticed the folks behind waited till I got through and did the same thing!

Thank you Joseph. The rivers around here have been long dry, and when they awake they do seem furious, raging in their beds, wanting to escape or roll over anything and anyone in their paths! Thank you for stopping by with your kind encouragement. ~BJ
