Man Eating Shark

By Elton Camp

Animal rights groups are in an uproar
They don’t want to hear of it anymore

While swimming, a shark came around
Into its fin, his teeth he viciously ground

He said shark fin soup was his best treat
One that he took every occasion to eat

They said the shark was in his own habitat
And that nothing could be wrong about that

The man, they wanted to be put away
In a prison cell, for many years to decay

“A shark’s life is very precious to us.
That’s why we are raising such a fuss.”

“We can’t see why it’s hard to understand.
Animal life is fully equal to that of a man.”

The animal lovers came down to the beach
A lesson in caring there to publicly teach

They offered the shark a tasty treat
But found he preferred human meat

The animals rights folks he dragged away
No more about cruelty did they have to say

The Silent Code of the Animal Farm

The tricky question of how many animal farms we have
May be more complicated than most of us think;
There are at least some fifty-five animal farms in the world
Where wild mammals play and eat and drink.

And although there lightning is feared more than law,
These farms all seem to have the selfsame collective code.
Since different from the mainstream law, we may call it lore:
The silent cipher that governs the primitive farms.

There everyone is entitled to their share of breath
As long as they breathe within their native home,
Breathing within the territories of other beasts
Wins you mob lynching according to the animal tome.

No animal may acquire such vast knowledge
As to threaten the rule of the Elephant and the Lion.
The acquisition of illegal learning only leads
To the doom Artemis wreaked on the restless Orion.

There you must not shout of forbidden things
Such as animal rights and equality of beasts oppressed;
For it is clearly stated by the immutable silent code
That some mandrills are more equal than the rest.

A beast of worth begets offspring of the same worth;
If a beast be an outcast born, the same must a pariah remain.
No animal may rise from the bottom to the aristocratic realm:
No beast must such thoughts of improvement entertain.

The lore of the mandrills is not lean,
As said, these codes make a huge-volume tome
Which you can’t leaf through in a day,
Though you may get a copy and read at home.

Yet the problem is that censorship there is tough
And as such the lore has never been put in print;
The few Cheetahs who championed for a free press
Were one by one snuffed without a hint.

The Fox Hunt

All horses and hounds alert,
when the horn blows!
The chase is on, where to?
Nobody bloody knows!

Illegal is the sport,
everybody is on edge.
A fox runs for it is life,
as a horse is whipped over a hedge.

The law stated clearly
that live fox hunts were banned!
They ignored it because animal rights
in their mind do not stand.

Their other way around it
was to capture the red fiend.
Then instead release him later,
claiming he had not just been freed.

‘He was simply in the way’ they say,
‘the dogs picked up the scent!’
‘Can’t tell em to stop you see,
they will not listen or relent!’

Drag hunts are an option,
but of course this will not do.
Blood-lust is their poison,
as is destroying the land they run through.

Don'T Get Me Started

DON’T GET ME STARTED

1. About taxes, we have to pay them so why bother
Wasting breath complaining? And they’re spent on
Useful stuff like nuclear weapons and world-tours for
The Prime Minister and keeping teenage shoplifting kids
In jail (where they belong) and allowing major embezzlers
Or inside-traders to be under light-supervision on open prison-farms.

2. About Richard Nixon, a president who got caught
Doing what practically every president does,
And did trivial things like achieving rapprochement with China,
Ending the war in Vietnam, and signing nuke treaties
With the USSR. What a waste of time.

3. About bees, because why should I put up with stings and all their buzzing
Just for honey, when I don’t even like honey or beeswax?
And don’t tell me about the hexagonal architecture of honeycombs.
Buckminster Fuller did it better without stinging or buzzing anyone.

4. About sushi, which is a bit too fishy for me. I hate fish,
With those big staring eyes in the shop, or floating pathetically
Around In the shrimp-pan gazing accusingly at me.

5. About Australians, wanting applause for kangaroos, wallabies or Melbourne.
How about a round of applause for Canada for having beavers, or the RCMP?

6. About rap “music” which really should be called crap music

7. About dogs

Animals forced to do man's fatal, dirty work
Penalised by the superior species
Men without sanity, crazy, berserk
Dogs delivering bombs get blown to pieces,

Animal mascots, monkeys, pigs, cats
Bat bombs fall, canisters with parachutes
Explosive grenades stuffed inside dead rats
Mules carrying goods, war tank substitutes,

Animals feel pain, depression, dreaded fear
Extreme injuries, wound camp training day
No animal rights, cheap lousy career
Hounds carry notes with messages to relay,

Animals in war forgotten victims ~
Lest we forget we sacrificed millions

Premium Member All Out For You

Can’t hold this love in
To do that is sin
Can’t keep it inside
There’s no place for pride
Cause all that I see
Is you here with me
Whatever it takes
I’ll win at these stakes
So, here’s what I’ll do
I’ll be all out for you

Chorus
All out for you
It’s all I can do
If you love me or not
Here’s all I’ve got
It’s all I can do
Babe…I’m all out
All out for you

I know you can hurt
Can treat me like dirt
Might feel like the dead
When you leave my bed
I’m ready to bleed
To fill every need
It’s no way to live
My all I must give
So, here’s what I’ll do
I’ll be all out for you

Chorus
All out for you
It’s all I can do
If you love me or not
Here’s all I’ve got
And it’s all I can do
Babe, I’m all out….
All out for you

Stripped till I’m bare
My heart takes the dare
Though it’s so insane
I have to be plain
I’ll hold nothing back
Even under attack
I’ll yield and I’ll plead
Until I am freed
To give you it all
Man up to the call
To be all out for you
Yea, here’s what I’ll do

Chorus
All out for you
It’s all I can do
If you love me or not
Here’s all I’ve got
And it’s all I can do
Babe, I’m all out
I’m all out for you

Babe I’m all out
Yes, I’m all out for… you

I attended a Bryan Adams concert last night which rocked my world. I simply adore him as a singer, performer, humanitarian, and animal rights activist. Yes, he is vegan! :) I will blog about my experience a little later, but these words came to me today as I was thinking about it, and I wrote it as though it were Bryan writing the lyrics. I know they are very simple...but I can just imagine his gravely voice belting out this melody. If only....if only....

Civilisation

The courtroom was hushed
      as Marco entered the room
      Meekly he entered the
      witness box.

     His large brown eyes
     glanced at the judge
     as he made his oath.

     The prosecutor
     wore a frown that
     drew down his eyebrows
     raven-like.

    Marco answered the
    prosecutor honestly
    Gaining the jury's
    respect.

    He was Spanish and
    proud of his country's
    culture and history.

    He came here with
a heavy heart to bear witness
    to murder and torture.

    Marco recounted
    the bloodshed he
    had seen.

    How fellow creatures
    met their deaths.
    Writhing in agony.

    Crazed beasts
    entered the ring
    taunted and goaded
    to the crowd's enjoyment

    He described how much
    he despaired at the torture
    of innocent animals

    His large brown eyes
    became pools that leaked
    tears down his
    beautiful face.

    Now and then a sob
    came from the jury
    as they heard how
    little the crowds cared.

    The andalucian stallion
    described the nightmares
    he suffered and how
    fear cast a shadow
    over his life.

   Marco left the witness stand
   as the jury applauded him.
   The judge would decide
in this court of animal rights.

   How civilised is humanity?
   Actions speak louder than words.

An Ode For Cecil

Cecil the king of the jungle
How are the mighty fallen
Tributes have come in from all around the world
From the animal and human kingdom
Oh cecil
See the way you were killed
Like a common criminal
Humans forgot you are a king
Oh Cecil! Oh Cecil!
We weep and mourn for you
Vividly I remember when you strode this earth like a colossus
Your fame cut across all continents of the world
As far as even the Sambisa forest of Nigeria, Africa
We have all roared, not in joy but in weeping
I am confused now for it seems humans have become more
Callous than we of the animal kingdom
You will never be forgotten Cecil,
Your death shall be a cause for justice
We shall continue to fight for animal rights just like humans fight for human rights
Rest in peace my friend and confidant Cecil until when we shall meet again
My name remains Zambo the great lioness of Africa
I end this sad song with a heavy heart.
Zambian jungle weep no more but don’t forget Cecil
Good bye Cecil the great King

The Dignity of Living Beings With Regards To Plants

(The Silent Screams of Asparagus)
4th place in contest

The Swiss, those bastions of “Pease, Not War”
That neutral country to the core
Have gone to the edge – then one step more
On the Dignity of Plants

The killing of flora is morally wrong
The concept of “Plant Rights” missing too long
They’re crying out loud and crying out strong
On the Dignity of Plants

They’ve adopted a biocentric moral view
Living plants are alive just like me and you
So we have to be thinking in all that we do
On the Dignity of Plants

Individual plants have an inherent worth
They don’t just appear, they get here by birth
So when dealing with plants we have to think first
On the Dignity of Plants

They say that the farmer can mow his own field
They don’t explain why – but the hay has appealed
Beheading of flowers – on that he must yield *
To the Dignity of Plants

The Swiss enshrinement of “plant dignity”
Is a symptom of cultural disease
Infecting Western culture
Bringing critical thinking to its knees

The Judeo-Christian world view
Which upheld the unique nature of man
Has fallen on hard times so now we can sue
We’ve no leg on which we can stand

Animal rights from this poisonous soil
Have crippled our courts, caused tempers to boil
Now flora and fauna have joined the coil
On the Dignity of Plants

If animals and man can feel real pain
As PETA explains and explains and explains
Then plants should be treated exactly the same
That’s the Dignity of Plants

Now some Swiss are saying that plants must come first
That “Man” is the AIDS of our dear Mother Earth
We may have to expel him for he is the curse
On the Dignity of Plants

We live in a time of cornucopian wealth
Yet millions of humans suffer in health
So hiding behind “plants rights” in stealth
Is no Dignity of Man

Me, I’ve got my dignity
Plants equal to man is just foreign to me
Giving plants our rights is immorality
And that is my stance on Plants

Mdailey

* At this point it remains unclear whether this action is condemned because it
expresses a particular moral stance of the farmer toward other organisms or
because something bad is being done to the flowers themselves.

This is no HOAX. The concept of what could be called “plant rights” is being
seriously debated in the Swiss courts.

Premium Member Bring On the Dancing Bears

At the famous Folies Bergère
all the dancing girls fell sick
No one to entertain the tourists
who wouldn’t get to see high kicks

The manager of the venue
thought so long and very hard
He unchained the dancing bears
that lived in the tiny back yard

They went through their routine
since they’d not performed in years
They were absolutely step perfect
the manager was moved to tears

The polar bear and brown bears
became a massive hit on stage
All the dancing girls got sacked
dancing bears were all the rage!

But the animal rights campaigners
set up petitions on a Facebook group
It was deemed that the act was cruel
and disbanded the dancing bear troop

The high kicking girls were re employed
See them can can the whole night through
The dancing bears are now retired
They’ll end their days in the local zoo

Case Dismissed

case dismissed
judge in the monkey suit
takes out zookeeper

Did you hear the one about the judge in the monkey suit?
No, but I spotted that lady zookeeper,
what a knockout in her sexy black dress.

The story I heard was that the judge
took out the zookeeper.

That explains the tuxedo - to dinner and a play, maybe?

Did I say tuxedo? I said monkey suit - he belted her one in front of
the jury. Knocked her out cold right there in the courtroom?

What was he...some kind of animal rights' activist?
I dunno? but the jury sure was a monkey's uncle.

Justice For the Four Legged Ones

They cannot speak for themselves you know.
Although in certain ways they try.
I get enraged when I see them harmed.
Some hurt them but I don't know why.

These creatures bring our planet joy.
Their rightful place is here on earth.
Though cruelty festers in dark hearts.
We should be humbled by their birth.

Fascinating to watch and observe.
Out in the wild or in our home.
There's so much we could learn from them.
Even those that go out to roam.

When I see some human acting evil
kicking an innocent creature or worse
makes me want to inflict pain;
give them a beating, shout and curse.

I'll do what I can for animal rights.
Someone has to be their voice.
We need to speak up strong and clear.
Justice for animals is my choice
