I turned,
towards my friend, who always was complaining
about the injustices and hardships of life and in
a calm voice I asked him:

" Tell me, was there a moment in your life that you,
smiled?
Laughed?
Jumped for joy?
Celebrated a success?
Kissed...

You are the smell before rain
You are the blood in my veins
I need to get you out of my system,
bleed it out by the blade

You are an incurable disease
You are the cancer consuming me
I need to get you out of my...

As God breathed life into us,
so must we accept his gift!

Breathe in the life he gave you
for yourself -
and do it not halfheartedly.
Inhale deeply every little thing.
Swallow your experiences too as if
they were tasty morsels of food.
You can gulp them down with excitement
or savor them...

Accepting Pain.
She's sliding and if you look past, if you watch her.....

maybe you'll capture a glance of her yesterday.....

“Sunrise only falls when you don't believe tomorrow exists,” I explained, in my most
patient tone.

She bit her lip and shook her head, she followed me into my room...

Accepting Pain
Accepting Pain
     By Dane Smith-Johnsen

Accepting pains,
I fain life becomes troublesome.
In Sun or rain
As days of great helplessness come.

Praying remains,
Sustain hope that hurts shall soon go.
Forestall complaints.
Watch faith with great endurance grow.

Go not insane
Nor spend thoughts on self-pities lure.
And...

sacrificing self for better or worse is almost too much
the exact outcome's unknown and you do lose not win

you now know blindness but one day may see truth
rather than just what's true there then not here now

the stage is a play written so many time...

Acceptance is electric
Synaptic flicking of switches
Enlightening shaded corners
Part of me says I should remind myself
Of the fleeting nature of joy
But it's a good day
Why tell myself good days end
There's a chance some switches stay on
And over time there's more light and less dark
I can't know...

that's what it is to be a slave
but now you know the truth
and are no longer blind
outcomes are known
history cycles like a clock
it is discrete and you are not
less than this being lodged in time
captured and held upon the water wheel
that goes round and round...

Accepting the Bulge
She went to the beach with a blanket.
Her fat all around...could not tuck-it.
String bikini and sand
Covered less than her hand.
Her spouse hid his head in a bucket.

Accepting Me

Surrounded by the silence
in the shadows of my mind.
Thinking of things not yet found
and things I left behind.

Not knowing where I'm going
but sure that where I've been.
There for just awhile,
and I won't be back again.

Tripping over dreams once dreamed
and things that I went through.
Now...

Accepting Diversity Myself
An abandoned riverbed lay between
What I know is in my mind to be true
And the dejected stares of another
For I refuse to be ashamed and bruised

A charge of purpose brightens the concept
That freedom applies to few: and many
Beauty thrives within freedom, so thank...

Accepting Yourself
When do you know when you’ve accepted yourself?
What does it feel like?
Are you HAPPY?
Are you EXCITED?
Are you SORROWFUL?
What do you think like?
Is there a difference in the way you think?
Do you have a different appearance?
What does it mean to accept yourself?

Do you act different?
Are...
