Accepting Pain

Accepting Pain
     By Dane Smith-Johnsen

Accepting pains,
I fain life becomes troublesome.
In Sun or rain
As days of great helplessness come.

Praying remains,
Sustain hope that hurts shall soon go.
Forestall complaints.
Watch faith with great endurance grow.

Go not insane
Nor spend thoughts on self-pities lure.
And be not vain,
Dwell not on aches without a cure.

Jesus the Christ,
Pain and death without protest bore.
Kingly gifts, myrrh
Scores of sins roared upon Christ's door.

God's Begotten
Willing, complaint-less, crucified.
A mortal man
Suffered pain and shamefully died.

Soon pain shall pass.
Living truths prepared souls procure.
God judges last.
Trusts, take comfort as pains endure.

A Mans Pride

Men strive to be the
Best providers for their families
But it's a tough job when
There's many mouths to feed
Men are good role models
And excellent father figures
You younger ones will Know
What I mean when you get bigger
Yhey all carry their pride so high
But you can see the pain in their eyes
Working so hard only to
Get laid off with less pay
Struggling to keep their families
Together day by day
Men try to stay strong
But no matter how hard they try
You can still see the pain and the
Worry in their eyes
They give out so much
They'll do anything for love
They will give their hearts and souls
Even try to give you the heavens above
They will never show it
Forever they will hide
You can take a lot from a man
But you can never take away his pride

I Hear Her Screams(In Direct Response To R.C.K.'s Can You Hear Me)

I hear her screams that echo from her heart.
What I'd do to silence them and show her understanding.
I feel her pain that tears her apart.
What I'd do just to give her solace that she has been quietly demanding.
I feel the tears that fall from her eyes.
What I'd do just to give her sight towards a future that is promising.
Can you see that as you suffer, so do I?
Can you hear the screams that I cry?
Can you hear me asking God why?
Why must we suffer and endure so much pain?
Why has the sun hidden just to give us more rain?
Why have our minds driven us so insane?
Rain you will not drown us in the flood.
We won't be cast aside, we will be alive!
The disturbing places we once occupied will be left behind.
I've been wanting to show you that through the lies we can find truth.
I've been wanting to show you that through the pain we've gained nothing but strength.
Open your weary eyes to a future that burns bright.
Take my hand as we persevere and push forward.
Opportunities lost just lead to another open door.
Rid yourself of the veil that once masked your identity.
Believe in yourself and don't listen to a single word of negativity.
Nothing can hold you down with me by your side.
I won't let you slip, I won't let you fall.
This light, your eyes, nothing can swallow you alive.
You won't drown!
You will breathe!
I've heard your screams.
Now follow this road I've paved to lead you towards your dreams.

The Rain (The Reply) By:Lakeyia Clark

The Rain…(the reply)(By: Lakeyia Clark 09/05/09)

If it’s always a rainy day...how can I see the sunshine
If the clouds never move...am I wasting my time
The clouds are like giants that I have to face
I’m an overachiever of course but will I win the race
Do you hear the rain and how its pouring down
Where is my happiness...it can’t be found...
Wanting much more for my child than I ever had
I still try to make it throughout the good and bad
Wrapped up in bondage from the things of my past
This pain is deep inside and I'm just wearing a mask
To cover up the pain that’s rooted deep within
To cover up the past and the hurt that nobody can mend
I don’t want to deal with it anymore
But I know I have a child to live for
The ugly truth has been revealed
In not so many words yet this is how I feel
With hatred and bitterness towards each and everyone
Men are viewed as predators and the damage is already done
But I try not to let that hold me back from succeeding
Though I'm happy now, my heart keeps bleeding
Bleeding from the beatings, cries, and scars
I try to erase them but they are what they are
Permanent damage to an innocent soul
Sleepless nights and I carry a load
Every night I sleep with the pain
Running from pain to be with what won’t hurt me
Crying out for happiness and to find my sanity
Every day I walk in the rain
But if I walk the other way what would be there
Would I be setting myself up for something I can’t bear
Would it be more of pain and less to gain
Or would it be a way for me to see through the rain

Can You Feel It?

Can you see it?
Can you feel it?
The pain and the suffering
Can you hear it?
Can you feel it?
The agony and the screaming
We all exclaimed at the top of our lungs,
Stay down!
Stay down!
Its not worth it
But no, He kept getting back up
With every piece of glass that pierced His skin
With every crack of that whip
With tears dripping down His cheeks
He yelled out in pain
But never quit.
Teary-eyed we yelled
Please just stay down
But no, He kept getting back up
Can you see it?
Can you feel it?
The love and determination
Though we forsaked
Though we denied
Though we sinned
He still took every whip,
Every insult, every tongue lashing,
Every spit in the face,
Every accusation
On one knee with blood dripping
In agonizing pain, He lifted His heavy head
And looked into the eyes of every person
There who was doing the unimaginable to Him
And whispered the three most powerful words
A person can ever say:
I LOVE YOU!

Tomorrow's a New Memory

The absent mind rewinds the time pursued by each regret,
For as the lore that came before brought memories to forget.
And in the seed that failed to feed a lovers sweet duet,
A swift demise in plain disguise stood ready to be met.

This was the sorrow that bled of tomorrow, for each day would soon bring the rest;
Every reminder was fiercer, yet kinder, and soon would begin its conquest.
The roses have hardened in paper-back gardens; the pages in which they were pressed...
It's all that remains from the valentine chains that had nothing but pain to suggest.

The shackles will tighten unless you enlighten the truth of your young history:
The fact that the pain can help you retain the lessons of each mystery.
Now that the past has fallen at last, so has your dark enemy...
The night-light grows dreary as thoughts to theory: tomorrow's a new memory.

A Harsh Reality

Too many children have had to grow without ever having a parent to know.
Ran through the foster parent system, with no one ever asking them.
And what occurs when they get some bad ones, beatings, isolation, sexual assaults done.
Then growing up and living with what occured, their conscience telling them this is absurd.
So they go through life being afraid and believing that those who hurt them must be obeyed.
It truly is a sick circle they must live in,and how this affects others is truly a sin.
So we must try to get them through this and most times it will be hit and miss.
But someone must be there for them,to ask those crucial questions where and when.
For if they never release that pain inside, they will always surely run and hide.
So "PLEASE" dear LORD! Set there evil free, and when they've released their pain could we
then work on me.

Bittersweet Wisdom

Death, in its unhurried wisdom,
ends all doubt and sorrow.
It is a lasting remedy for all
Illness, insecurity, and loneliness;
The finality of it ends all pain with
a sweetness not otherwise known.
Its sweetness is known only by those,
who in their passing have smelled its fragrance.
The pain of those left behind has a
fragrance all its own, a bittersweet
emanation that assails the senses with
its pungency. The strength of the void,
left by the passing of one loved,
seems endless. Time and faith,
working in unison, will lessen the
strength and fill the void.

Premium Member Pain Is Good

What do we gain?
If there is no pain.
Some will applaud the sun and complain about the rain.
Nevertheless, we need both just the same.
In life our goals we strive to obtain;
Some dreams we will lose, some we will gain.
This journey grows but I hope it will never end,
There have been so many roads I have seen and places I have been.
The pain in my life you cannot see it but I can.
It hurt sometimes that is why I keep it locked in.
I walk carefully and quietly on this journey in life.
I walk with faith and hope but not by strife.
Pain will surround you and find you every day.
Surprisingly nothing helps, it just goes away.
I can tell you pain hurts physically.
But I believe it hurts more mentally.

Morning Treasures

Morning Treasures
     By Dane Smith-Johnsen

A hint of golden sun on treetops glows.
One brown leaf floats slowly toward the ground.
Autumn, not yet arrived, stretches her wings.
Sunshine beaming beyond dense trees glows bright.
Thus, giving just a glimpse of life beyond woods.
Reflections of a busy past recalled.
Gratitude rises through the clouds to God.
All-knowing wisdom brought me to this peace.
Tranquil reflections and life with love merge.
As morning awakens, anticipation hopes.
And sorrows that have borne pain dissipate.
Armed with joy, pain no longer has a grip.
The morning light heightened brightens life’s view.
Optimism is born. This day is new.
And at dusk, I shall say adieu, adieu.

Winsome Smile

Somewhere there is a most winsome smile
Hiding behind the pain
Waiting to be unleashed upon this world
Like a torrential rain
Forming in the corners of your life
In your face your story writes
Somewhere in that life you live
Is a smile that makes hearts still?

One day in my day I’ll find
The mysteries of your happiness
And tame your anguish with such style
And joy will light your way
Until then I will love you until
My beating heart stands still
And every ounce of your pain
Leaves you and joy stays.
