Accepting Me
Surrounded by the silence
in the shadows of my mind.
Thinking of things not yet found
and things I left behind.
Not knowing where I'm going
but sure that where I've been.
There for just awhile,
and I won't be back again.
Tripping over dreams once dreamed
and things that I went through.
Now just vague reminders
that not all dreams come true.
Better for the yesterdays
though some they hurt me so.
Things I never hoped to dream
I somehow came to know.
Living for tomorrows
and the lessons they might teach.
Trying hard to find new dreams.
Dreams that I can reach.
It's said you can't go back in time,
there's things you can't un-see.
It's hard sometimes just letting go,
of what's holding onto me.
Still I'll try through tears I'll cry
at life that's rearranging.
Knowing ever growing
and constantly just changing.
Accepting of the things that were,
they no longer have to be.
Accepting of a life I love.
Accepting now, of me.
