Was on the run
Not going anywhere
Caught again
But hopefully not for long
Might try a spell
I hope Djinn doesn’t put me in chains
Now for my next try
Now I have the money
Time to escape
Before Djinn wakes
Help
I’m running in haste
I think he’s coming
Made my escape
While the Djinn sleeps
Now to run off with the Djinns money
Need a large carrier
Must hurry
The Djinn put me in a bottle
I made him watch me as I did a spin.
Only to hide when I will make my escape
This is an amazing little known fact
Was once a tap dancer in an all girl act
Moves so sexy
Jiggling my belly
One offer flooded in to be exact
The Belly Dancer
Learned private lessons in a club
in Chicago's Greek Town.
Her teacher told her,the bigger the
dancer....the more beautiful.
Being thin was no attribute to see
that skin roll!
When she finally saw a woman of girth
dance, it was like watching the Aegean
Sea.
She was almost in a trance.
Such beauty, in an exotic dance.
Ah, she loved learning belly dancing,
but stopped.
When her teacher told her a true belly dancer must sew her own costume, sequins
and all.
That was not her forte, but her downfall. So back to the classroom of screaming
children she went.
Playground duty, hardly a place of rapture nor enchantment just common cement.
Utterly crushed and deluded,she was not
in sequins performing in a lavish tent.
Just mundanely looking for an apartment
to rent!
Decades,like schools of fish swam away.
But she still has her finger cymbals and
in the dead of the night, likes to play them.
And before her mirror...
Exotically sway.
"Faiza" the Turkish Delight was her name.
Now lives a quiet life. Alas..no fame!

As beguiling costumes dazzle eyes
flashing glitter heightens indulgences.
Jasmine kisses lightheadedly make
nerves of passion quiver.
Rhinestone stars twinkle
usurping Venus
with xanthic
yellow zircons.

Limerick: Once a Belly-Dancer in Cairo
Once a Belly-Dancer in Cairo
Tried to wiggle her way through Fado
Only thing she had on
Was a navel button:
(Now) Fado mambo-jambo Oporto.

Warm winds of memory
A bumpy hip as
the notice in the eye
Blonde and blue
A show and dance of body.
I walked in and found a chair,
And sat down and saw you there;
The light was shining, the light was low,
The candle flickered soft and slow.
The lonely music filled the night,
I felt right then my heart take flight;
The voice that taunts behind the veil,
Haunting echoes that sob and wail.
Hips that glide with slow gyrations,
Arms that weave with undulations;
Languid eyes touched with kohl,
Whisper words to flame the soul.
The sounds of that persistent beat,
Soothe the brow with passion's heat;
Lost in the scene that ignites my eye,
Heats my skin and makes me cry.
You move thro night and cast your spell,
And thoughts I think I'll never tell.
Let's pretend there'll be no end,
For you are more to me than friend;
I want to take you in my arms,
And feel the warmth that never harms;
I play on the strings of love's romance,
As you swing and sway in a belly dance
Smiling Belly Dancer ……..by Peter Onyancha
Belly dancer
You are another one!
Where do you mine your smile?
Beaming brackets, my my!
This is it, my spirit, speak it
Or belie – are you sly?
The tune is gone – but the charm!
The eyes grow with them and glow
You Smile and I blush –
How simply, you truly pinch me
Somewhere deep in the rib!
Look away, from my way
You bully belly dancer
THE BELLY DANCER
The sparkling dazzle of those chandeliers , -
Transformed the night into an endless day !
And underneath its ignited glow ,
The belly dancer's hips moved to-and-fro !
With her semi-veiled face and mesmerizing eyes ,
And the rhythmic quiver of those half-coverd breasts ;
Her belly button a vortex of tantalizing desire ,
Hypnotized all those welcomed guests !
The Oriental music raced their blood ,
And ignited the night with the heat of desire !
Who knows , before this night comes to an end , -
They all may be consumed in that eternal fire !
