The real you would have been

The true love. The one. The only one. You were chosen
But where is your heart? Hmm. My one is flaming in you
Burning in you, oh my wished love, my only hoped love

Yes. I needed you. Many times I waited for you. Go there

Surely one day, 
I won’t know ‘alone’.

Midnight pining

Those minuscule gaps,
the dripping from the tap, 
that soon became the sea between you and me

My fading glow, with the things I didn’t know. 
How you’d take my years as your sign to go. 

But am I ever in your head, dead of night, in your bed?
Do your hands still reach for the phone?

The Hand That I've Been Dealt

The mirror used to be my friend;
Alas, those days have reached the end.
I see my face and can’t pretend
I’m anything but old.

I guess it’s me beneath the skin
That wrinkles somehow settled in
And make-up couldn’t quite begin
To spin this straw to gold.

My earrings still remain in place
And, just like always, frame my face,
But time will not

Wishful Thinking

I don't wanna be
a wannabe no more
waiting for opportunity
to come a'knocking
on my open door
and the day she does
tho' the lights are on
there's no one home
as I'll probably be
out to lunch
knowing me
so I wanna see
'Been there, done that!'
on my resumé because
I'm oh-so tired
of being a never-was

We are out of time because heaven's time keeping clock has been broken

years old, became critically sick for two years and was abandoned by all but not by
our God!  Friends and family members were totally worn out from taking care of her
and not because a lack of their compassion.

Rock Bottom

You know you've hit rock bottom for sure
when you find your track
in a used record store
under a stack at the very back
of the ten pee CD rack
(does anyone buy them anymore?)
and you know you've hit the all-time low
it's a sure bet
when you don't see your song
in any list at all
on the worldwide internet

Troubles Are God's Messengers I've Been Homeless

Whenever troubles come my way.
I turn to God and begin to pray.
There is nothing he can't do.
And he always has come through.
With God I'll never lose the fight.
Because he always makes things right.
Whether the battle is people or my mind.
I ask Him to fight for me every time.
Let me share a fact that's true.

  I sometimes wonder if the path I was meant to take was predetermined,
  was the word destiny birthed to be my hopeless shackles.
