Premium MemberOctober - Remembered

Written: September 15, 2026, for week's Poetry Challenge: Autumn Memory The leaves came loose like letters from the trees, and skittered silver-gold along the lane; the wind went whispering through russet peas, then curled its cool refrain around the rain. I still recall the harvest's amber light, the scent of apples crushed beneath our feet; your laughter lingered, low, against the night, while woodsmoke made the dark seem warm and sweet. The pumpkins burned like lanterns by the door, and dusk drew lilac veils across the field; we spoke of things we had not voiced before, as if the year itself had paused to yield. Now autumn comes, and all the old winds start— the leaves fall, but they cannot take your heart.

SAVOUR THIS, MY CHILD

Nothing reflects reality
Like God’s supreme beauty.
Look into the mirror, child,
And see His greatest reward:
Savour it in thanksgiving, for a while:-
No matter how many times you do,
You’ll always see God’s precious beauty
Looking back at you: this will always be true:-
Know that your beauty has its fragility, needing
To be anchored and solidified before it can be
Sanctified utility: codifying its glorifying liberty:-

Premium MemberWith Each Step

With each step I falter, Lord
But I believe in You
I know that You love me
And I love you too

I believe in Your majesty
I believe in Your creativity
Awesome settings given
Through Your directive power

Each morning, I see Your power
Your artwork on display
I hear Your birds singing
I know You hear them when they pray

I believe in You
I believe in Jesus
I believe You love me
I believe in love

Premium MemberRemembering Love

Remembering love, like yesterday's adventure
When passion was warm, stamina strong
Heart felt desire of its wants burn
Skin dripping enough make you wet
Excitement indulging need for love, oil
glistening off skin

Feel me; deep inside your curves I play
Fingers caressing beauty's cry, salt
taste upon lips
Tongues entangled, squeeze held tightly intense
Grasp of hair, pull me in deeper
Just wanting to crawl inside your depths

Soft tones whispering the flickering light
Night air, whisper of wind across heated body's
Sensuality, you can smell scent about air
Pleasures of love we once knew back when
Remembering love, hard and soft but two
hearts beating same

Premium MemberThe Return of Beauty

I knew you would come back
because you were always there.
My mind begins to wonder;
seeing you made me stare.

The beauty you have is
a display edition; it needs no light.
It illuminates the room
with perfection in the darkest of night.

It strikes the chord for deep love,
sending out perfect harmony.
The beauty you have shown me
made me accept my insecurities.

When I reach back at the memory
of when our love was great,
it makes me thankful for the moment
when I held your warm embrace.

Premium MemberRecipe Four The Butterfly Leaving The Innocent Cocoon

you barf baster again
washbowl always amplify serious
burden but buttress can
gloriously grandstand crumpled expunging
never negotiate prolonged affliction
center choppy crabbedness extract
stillness for greenback stockholding
that ascribe brandish backsliding
gastrogavage plumping faintness and
your wedding will be
unalterable fluttering caring desirableness

Premium Member"Give Yourself Props, And Notice"

There long ago was soul,

Daring and bold,

Who shifted more weight than was told.

They made available themselves props

For the battles they immobilized and noticed

Their power taking hold.

Give yourself props, don't delay

You've achieved every step of your way.

When you delay and take heed

You'll see your own bull's eye

Has carried you day after day.

"Give yourself props, don't be reserved-

You endured what they swore you'd deny.

When you stop and take note of the strife you

Out-wrote

You'll see you're the reason you fly

Give yourself props- funny thing

How we clap for the minuscule of wins.

But the truth that you miss is you've

Interacted all this-

With grace that deserves violins.

Premium MemberEnthralled by those Eyes

your eyes with dense black lashes casting colors of sapphire wet with ensnaring passion hook me beyond flight.

Premium Memberfleeting beauty

a trout in shallow water
in the fading light...
carefully you slide your hand beneath its belly
and with the other softly stroke
… its fin
for a moment it yields to you
only to slip away into the silver waves
of confined time...

Premium MemberA Soul That's Hungry and Never Well-Fed

A soul that's hungry and never well-fed,
is always searching for something much greater,
a great love whose meaning is ne'er misread,
or destiny whose time arrives much later.

In God and thee I find a hopeful fate,
a future that restores a quiet grace,
and moments in time's endless, flowing state;
where I embrace your beauty's radiant face.

But if the heavens and the stars above,
and all the world were drowned in seas of gloom,
my lines still live forever in thee, my love,
beyond end of days, beyond even doom!

If love transcends all seasons and all times,
then your spring lives on in all of my rhymes.

Premium MemberNot Quite 'Blowin' in the Wind'

~ Sing this to the tune of 'Blowin' in the Wind' ~

How many breakdowns will it take
                   ‘til you know
               There’s way too much stress
                    in your life

How many times do you have to be told
                    Never make
                       a pretty woman
                         your wife

Yes, and how many bills will you have to pay
                     for seeking
                        professional
                           help

                 The answer, you fool
                     can't be learned in school
                        The answer is learned
when she steals the family jewels

Premium MemberYour Stunning Beauty, Which Intensely Burns

Your stunning beauty, which intensely burns,
     warms all of earth's creatures and provides hope;
your glow emits from you by natural turns,
and your rays of life have fresh, boundless scope.

Your young dazzling face, radiant in form,
     brilliantly shines like the raw, yellow sun;
and your halo, like an electric storm,
lights up all though your heart's meant just for one.

But Sappho, Tenth Muse, fades before your light.
     Her verses dim beside your living flame;
your beauty makes her ancient words burn bright,
and poets find in you their truest name.

Let doubt be silenced by this single line:
of all the Muses, Rose, you are divine.

Premium MemberI See you For your soul

I See You For Your Soul

I see you for your soul and all that goes with it,
I see you for your smiling eyes and tender lines of grit,
I see the way you move and treat your fellow man...
For it's down within the soul that the truest essence brings
Love and tenderness and all the finer things.

I see the caring heart of you, and all your saving grace,
I see the many tears you've cried left streaming down your face.
I see the mark you leave on those that you hold dear,
And leave them always wishing they could have you standing near.
But the biggest and the best of all you know,
Is the giant place where you leave love for it to grow.

You never have to hide from me, or play a different role,
Forever and completely, I see you for your soul.

— Debra

Premium MemberHammock of Wind

Lie back, lie back upon the wind,
let him hold you in his arms,
his silken cords, suspended dreams,
caress the soul and soothe the mind.
Lie back in the hammock of wind,
whisper your secrets into his ear
his clews attached to the crescent moon,
his bed embracing your heart's desire.
