Notes About The Poem

Poetry need not be uplifting in every instance; there are weighty themes as well. Yet, it should certainly leave an imprint of beauty on the reader's soul... Words should fit together harmoniously.

fleeting beauty

a trout in shallow water
in the fading light...
carefully you slide your hand beneath its belly
and with the other softly stroke
… its fin
for a moment it yields to you
only to slip away into the silver waves
of confined time...
