Rooftops stitched with snow
Lean against a sky of cobalt and ash

Alleys fold into themselves
Cobblestones polished by countless steps
Windows shuttered holding stories like quiet breath

Smoke drifts from chimneys
And lingers in the crisp mountain air
Curling around timbered walls
That lean close protective patient

Gingerbread scents rise from small cafés
Mixing with the scent of pine and frost

Mountains cradle the town
Their shadowed shoulders pressing close
Time stretching around rooftops and river bends
Slow crooked and still alive

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Autumn’s abundance attracts adventurers to Munich.
Oompa bands boast boisterous beats.
Beneath the boundless, blue Bavarian skies,
Bountiful banquets beckon where breads and bratwurst blend,
Beer bottles beckon, from barrels and bars.
Steins are sloshed with swaggering splendor.
Generations gather; Bavarians bask in bucolic bliss.
Hearts harmonize in humble hymns of heritage held dear.
Hand in hand, they huddle, harvesting hope
*Oktoberfest in Germany will take place from September 20 to October 5, 2025. This annual festival is held at the Theresienwiese in Munich. (source: oktoberfest.de). You still have time to book a flight and travel to Munich; hotel rooms, though, will be hard to find.  smiles
Mad at Kraut's
After the matinee war movie, we were hyped,
we weaved through small town streets
dodging imagined Luger waving krauts,
returning fire
with machine gun fingers.
Roger said his granny was Bavarian
and got mad at me when I said
they were all bastards.
Roger’s mother told him
that he was great looking,
that got me mad, my mom never had,
and Roger’s mother was hot.
The talk turned to girls.
Roger had only kissed his mom,
but I had seen a girl almost naked,
that got Roger mad.
Years later we had a threesome
with a German girl.
I could see that Roger was really handsome.
She was keener on him than me,
that made me mad at him
and her.
Premium Member The Magic Feast
I saw magical faeries.
Tripping in and around
Sparkling wings shining
In the dazzling sunbeams
That transversally filtered
Through the mighty beeches
Of a Bavarian forest.
A royal feast proclaimed.
The mighty Queen arrived.
And took her place on a throne
In a prominent part of the glen.
Sumptuous abundant delicacies
Appeared out of nowhere,
Cheeses and pixie pears,
And saffron flavoured cakes,
Plus, milk laced with honey.
Enchanting lively music
Advanced towards the glen.
Happiness and Felicity
Thrilled the expectant audience.
Soon, darkness fell around,
But innumerable, bright glow worms
Lit up the secluded grassy glen.
Dancing thus began in earnest.
Until they tired out and all returned
To their cosy leaves to dream
About their lovely Fairy Queen.
Bavarian Barista
Bavarian Barista
At that first taste,
my initial savoring sip,
smoky, rich, strong,
unlike any anywhere,
anytime I had ever had
and I had had my share,
but this German Kaffee
mit zucker und kreme,
served hot as her smile
suggests a second cup
for the rest of my life.
Why???
Soul sick
For a quick fix
To the hardened heart
Let me in
I like being thin
But I don't know where to start
Cold, hard, crusty
Your fence is broken and rusty
Weathered by elements around
Overgrown with weeds
Failure, succeed
Yet nothing worth finding in the ground
Hope is present...LOVE remains
It is that time of year again
wooden clog upon the cobblestone
the red telly in view beer maids
slide the giant steins across
long tables inside the crowded tent
huge pretzel and brats hang sparingly
over the doorway entrance while misty
fog pour in chasing hedge hogs
throughout the forest a rather full
Marketplatz beckons my attention span
I notice the Bavarian alps in view
while riding the mechanical bull
I'm quite taken by the lanky block
in the far corner adjusting stocking
dashing to buy a few more hummels
wooden nut crackers and incense burners
taxi!!!
The days of
wine and rose's
enchanted pose's
I think of you
nothing added
nothing taken away
my thoughts follow you
wandering about
what's left from
the midst of your
melancholy mannerism
captured beyond
wholly adversity fallen
desperately on infamous
tangible chatter over
wiener schnitzel
sour dough bread
potato soup and
a crisp Riesling
over looking the
Bavarian alps mourning
Oktober hidden glances
broken chance's in this
moment we simply are
the very best of ourselves
we are noble willing
challengers on a voyage
beyond this ravished
wildlife mythical muse's
subtle faint hues filled
with yesterdays blues
Muses, Goddesses
Not being promised
To nobody,
wanted court
Artemis... but Artemis
  the protected of the moon, fled
with Prince Solar ...
I returned my commoners
looks at Helena
superb and serene girl ...
I even did a serenade for her ..
Neptune raged
so much that he played terrible
waves on my walls ...
I insisted I was not afraid ...
Then came Hermes and
delivered me message
in person:
Mortal can't dream
of immortals ...!
The law of the strongest
made me sad ...
My friend Ulysses
came
comfort me: don't listen
singing of nymphs and neither
fall in love with mermaids ...!
I started looking for Mary,
Marianne, Severinas and
Josefas ... ordinary women ...
They all smiled at me
benevolence, but all
they let me down ...!
Until a half Roman,
half German, half Bavarian
with her white way of being
said to me in my ear:
Wake up love ... lunch
is ready....!
Bushes and More Bushes
Bushes and More Bushes
Moses was in the wilderness with a broom in  his hand.
When asked what he was doing he said he was beating
around bush trying to put out the flame in burning bush.
This was considered to have represented the first political
movement ever to occur. Politicians have been beating
around the bush ever since about hot items.
Constituents were saying that the politicians should get
hot and get something done for a change.
Remember when my son first heard about the Ten
Commandments. He called them ten commanders who
were on President's staff. A mind of a child is amazing.
After the priest had given a long sermon, he said he
was bushed from having given it. Instead of in the
sheves, they started singing bringing back the bush.
Last time they were seen was when they were with
the Bush's drinking a Busch Bavarian Beer. And I
thought that BBB was the Better Business Bureau.
