Ever ponder I, 
who hears the distant traffic haul, 
The planes up high above me droan.
the whistle of the wind through trees,
And gentle rustle of their leaves.
I look beyond my window sill,
no stars tonight, just low set cloud.
And ever do I ponder still.

A flavorous scent
Permeated today
A fruity smell
That brought in full play.

A feeling of mirth.
A sprinkle of joy.
A grandma who knows
The love of a boy.

Anticipating
A wonderful day.
I began to dance.
My troubles away.

Magical Ambience of Campfire

A crackling sound as something splits off and falls further in.
A popping
A glimmer of yellow
We sit mesmerized, staring not at the fire, but at our friends
who have turned into darkened shadows

The trees have gone gray, and the day is cooler now.
our host has brought plaid blankets down from the house.
The teenagers have eaten their fill
