Why Don'T We Want What Wants Us

WHY DON'T WE WANT WHAT WANTS US?

The world is full of selfish people
Since we only need what we want
Forgetting what wants us
Different people, different personalities
Not only should we care about our feelings 
Why not consider those who care
Who would do anything just to see us smile

Egoism has become a conscious action
No one will ever be

A lot was left unsaid.

True concern, effective enough to dilute cataclysm
Rates of its occurrence, not significant in life’s prism
Under goodness adrenaline and hyperthyroidism
Irreversible kindness, too strong for evil’s cultism
So selfless to cushion any emotional vandalism
Measure so humane to trigger negative’s unionism

Or really even be friendly
Because my acts of kindness
Were not to get something back
They were to show I cared
When you thought nobody did
So just know one thing
Even in menial capacity
If it makes your life easier
I'll gladly do what I can

Many’s the man who wished that he could
And often’s the time he knew that he should
And given the option he thought that he would

but may let too much in,

a dream of emotional origins.

The world shifts away from touch,
The mind is helpless to operate on the future.
