Some of us,
diversely theistic
and atheistic,
are still,
to this traumatizing partisan day,
committed to a multiculturally inter-religious
and ecologically healthy
democracy.

We are suffering
an anxious sense of deeply felt loss
fueled, inflamed, ignited
by RightWing MonoTheistic
and ATheistic
and Agnostic Theistic?
trauma,
fear- and anger-mongers,
weaponized hate-predators,
ideological dogmatists
propaganda influencers.

UnChristianRight MonoTheists
are also LeftBrain verbally dominant
anthro-privileged
patriarchally plagued
by win/lose partisanship
0-sum devolutionary economics
dualistic YangPassion v YinPleasure
dogmatic ideation.

Both Left and Right Wings
failing to feel depolarizing sides
of our comedic-belonging
v tragic-longing

Bicamerally common
cobinary
sense of faithful humor.

About some of us,
diversely theistic
and atheistic,
still,
to this traumatizing partisan day,
feeling shared passion
for a multiculturally inter-religious
and pleasure within
an ecologically healthy
organic democracy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I don’t much care about the month I was born
As July does seem as good or bad as any other
It was Nature’s timing, plus a few weeks more
I guess a Julian calendar has much to answer for
Yet conception due to my father and mother
And the whole astrology thing, mainly a yawn

There are few celebrated famous dates in July
At least here in this part of a Protestant world
With no Saints’ days, just some sinners I suspect
And growing agnosticism starts to feel correct
But elsewhere, a pledge when a flag is unfurled
And the month is OK, when it’s sunny and dry

Embrace your inner hatred and release
Love; fullness forever, to realize.

Embrace your unhappiness and release
Joy; fullness forever, to realize.

Embrace your hostility and release
Peace; fullness forever, to realize.

Embrace your impertinence and release
Patience; fullness in life, to realize.

Embrace your mercilessness and release
Mercy; fullness in life, to realize.

Embrace your debauchery and release
Goodness; fullness in life, to realize.

Embrace your unkindness, ever release
Kindness; fullness in life, to realize.

Embrace your agnosticism and release
Faith; fullness forever, to realize.

Embrace your intemperance and release
Calmness; fullness in life, to realize.

Agnosticism

When
the
spirit
leaves its shell,
does it go away
forever?
No way
to
tell.

Where
will
we go
our last day,
to heaven or hell
or nowhere?
No way
to
know.

Your
fate
can’t be
determined
with accuracy.
Why debate?
Let’s wait
and
see.

How
can
you show
what can’t be
proven to be there?
I don’t know,
but I
still
care.

Premium Member The Shadow of a Doubt

He meandered the alleyways of being
uncertain of the origins of his conceptions,
unclear about the emergence of his thought.

Along the way, he happened on Erebus,
deepening shadows of skepticism,
darkening the lines of incredulity.

He regarded this as quite strange. What possible
value could there be to acuminate agnosticism?
What purpose could cultivating qualms serve?

Erebus stopped and studied him,
smiling as though he read his mind!

“Without doubt, you would never know
when you were certain,” he said. “Without
skepticism, you would never find
faith.”

We Are Flotsam

(with a spark of God)

To govern a myriad selection
Of one mind and legion.
Top tier parasitic collection
From every living region.

It's not subjective good or evil,
Moral or immoral, right or wrong --
But, a wanton cellular mass primeval
Versus ego and super-ego strong.

Toxic algae over jellyfish abundant,
Floating in poisons of our making:
CO2, methane, livestock redundant.
Do Vegans dream of plant life taking?

Al Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram:
Brain-dead sheep of the clan,
Following blindly without exam,
Trading for virgins on Ramadan.

Black holes wandering
About Yellowstone caldera.
Plague virus pondering
A Thermonuclear plethora.

Anthropogenic extinction sirens:
Suffocating on dead Phytoplankton;
Lost in narcotics and hallucinogens;
Obsessive love via Keats and Byron.

At the precipice of an extraordinary evolution,
We must rid ourselves of ancient superstitions.
To continue our rise, or reverse in devolution?
Agnosticism seems wise -- so say my suppositions.

Thoughts

Come sit down beside, and do tell,
Is a book on Agnosticism non-fiction as well?
Let's choose a book of literary spells,
Let's take ourselves to libraries to dwell,
Let's spread the word of literacy,
Billions of people need to read,
Thoughts, opinions and ideas for free,
Would you classify --isms as fiction?
Is a book on Agnosticism non-fiction?
Is Atheism a true creed?
Fabulous negativity, Kafkas, prithee,
Come sit down beside me, let's read.

Randomling 16: Musical Believer

Though my conscience sleeps,
wrapped in the Valium of
agnosticism, it awakens to
the music of Mozart---
once more knowing God
by the sound of His voice.

Taking Sundays Back

I pray to thee Lord from the depths of my agnosticism,
from within the fiery flames of belief that circle my pyre
and reach for me, then retreat, leaving smoking tinder.

Bibles mock me from hotel drawers;
Mass schedules reproach me at church doors.
Friends who are “saved” hope to save me as well.
They can't understand that agnosticism is as
immovable in me as their faith is in them.

But how did this come to be?
Sixteen years of Catholic school could not
save me from it; an Irish mother couldn't save me.
And it took courage the first time mortal sin held me
in its grasp on the day I deliberately took Sundays
back for myself.

I miss you, Lord, so I pray to thee, from the depths of my
agnosticism that you hear my agnostics prayer.

(If you're there.)

Water

Sunlight trickles through stained glass windows.
She kneels, a little apart from her fellows
who also seek salvation in water.
Her gray hair slips from her circumspect braid,
and her Sunday-best thrift-store garb
stands out because it doesn't.
Shaking fingers tap the rail
Nervous feet twitch as she waits.
The water flows down the line of supplicants
till it reaches her, and instantly, she is transformed,
beautiful from scraggly braid to thrift-store shoes.
Can mere water cause this transformation?
Is this a message for me---
Another arrow into the heart of my agnosticism?
I don't know, but for now,
there is sunlight trickling through stained glass windows.

Premium Member Agnosticism Debunked

Spoken
   ex cathedra
      from a group so astute,
"For sure
   and for certain
      there are no absolutes!"
And who in the world could doubt
   their claim,
   solid like a stone.
Men whose duty it is to know
   that nothing
   can be known.

NOTE: ex cathedra is Latin for "from the seat of authority".
