Activism Poems | Examples

I AM JUST A VOICE

I am only a voice
not the loudest in the crowd
not the softest either
but steady enough to be heard.

Shape me into fire
a rising sun on darkened streets
so I can burn through hatred
so I can light the cracks of racism.

I am just a sound
the trembling roar of a cub
but let me grow into a lion
so I can tear the chains of corruption.

Make me more than an echo
make me thunder on the horizon
make me the horn that will not quiet
until justice learns my name.

Premium Member Art As Activism I

One of the great things about being an artist is that even if I can’t change the world I still have an unfettered opportunity to express my opinions. To keep from exploding, I made these pieces instead—Alice Deasley

Art As Activism I

It begins at home or should I say at the grocery store,
anywhere food is sold
Changes in ways to shelve groceries
should again be addressed, it’s still an issue
Packaging goes straight into the sea—the true trash can
Alternatives are store chains that use barrels for sweets, nuts,
dried fruit and edible seeds
More deli section, less packaged meats and cheese
Bakery containers, less packaged muffins
Plastic pollution solutions everywhere
Beach cleanups, volunteer to pick up litter
Our actions impact the ocean
even far away from the coast
land and water are connected
Buy plastic free, figure it out!
Less bagged chips, more glass bottled water and jars
Youth with passion will themselves create new ideas,
for they are the inheritors.

A call to Earth

In shopping centres, bright and wide,
Where our dreams can fly and glide,
We wrap our hearts in things we've bought,
Forgetting stars, by city lights caught.

Yet, whispers of change might find their way,
As people stand up, by the ocean's spray.
Our Earth, they say, is worth more than play,
A future where green and blue can stay.

We must think over, our habits laid out,
With seas of plastic, and skies of doubt.
It's in our actions, clear and stout,
To choose to live, to truly shout.

To save our home, we should all band,
From dawn's light to night's last stand.
It's up to us, to lend a hand,
A fight for right, across the land.

But history's glance, so sharp and keen,
Will judge what we might have been.
In future's tale, it would be seen,
Our legacy, like a lost green dream.

Yet, it must have been right in our clasp,
To mend the breaks, to free the grasp.
And we could have chosen a kinder path,
For Earth, a haven, not aftermath.

Premium Member Echoes of Love and Activism

In the heart's embrace, love finds its home,
Where souls entwine, no longer alone.
A promise made, a bond so true,
In marriage vows, we start anew.
Through trials faced and battles fought,
Activism's flame, a fire sought.
Voices raised, for justice's call,
In unity, we stand tall.
Love's gentle touch, activism's might,
Together they shine, day and night.
In love, we find the strength to fight,
For a world where all is right.
So let us walk, hand in hand,
Spreading love across the land.
With hearts ablaze and spirits bright,
Love, marriage, and activism unite.

Premium Member Still We Fight

No time to wait for future days
The change is here, that’s right
Yet, you deny our climate wisdom
scorn us, but still we fight

The data is in, no denying it
yet pushback from the right
Our presence seems only to anger you
but undeterred still we fight.

Is it our strength that scares you?
our devotion, our insight?
Your fear of change so shaken
but regardless, still we fight.

Solutions reach before us
our future we’ll rewrite
While many still may doubt us
for our planet, still we fight

We yearn for purest sunlight
blue skies where birds take flight
honey fields where bees alight
and fireflies ignite
restoration in our sites
where forests green regain their height
and children voice their songs forthright
in a cleaner world that turns out all right
for each of those, still we fight

Flora, fauna, survival their right
for youth with dazzling futures bright
we hold those dreams, and still we fight

And still we fight.

Ccp Turtles Grassing Line

my latest anti CCP turtle poem--

CCP Turtles Grassing Line
China’s virtual hotline
Report online remarks
Slander Communist Party history
Crack down “bygone nihilists”
Party’s 100th centenary July

Grass line allows society report
Netizens “twist” Party’s history
Attack governance policies
Denigrate national heroes
Deny superiority radical socialist nation

Clandestine motivations old nihilistic parodies
Malevolently garbling
Denigrating contradicting Party history

Internet operatives administering people
Devotedly report dangerous info

“Historical nothingness” public doubt distrust
Chinese Communist Party’s earlier dealings

China’s net forcefully censored
Overseas social media networks
Search engines news outlets forbidden

Penances persons conveyed
Netizens prison lawful punishments
Placement content acute
Nation’s leadership procedures antiquity

Legal amendments folks
“Slur smear invade on” memorial
China’s national heroes’ martyrs
Face three years gaol

By this GoodYear,
invest in this Good 20/20 eco-political Year,

Buy for yourself,
cash in advance powerful traction!

Buy for your kids
with balding tires
and scratchy heads!

Buy for your friends
for future skid-free insurance
protecting from washed out futures!

Store them in your garage
your kids' sheds
your neighbor's extra bed

Wheels to co-empowerment,
even, and oddly, those
you may not need
for yet another green climate decade.

Light speed
is to power
as green enlightenment
is to 2020 empowerment.

In Your Face

In Your Face

I will put it in your face,
as long as it’s in mine.

Is slavery in your face?
They’ve all been set free.

Is child labor in your face?
They’re all in school.

Are the house wives, in your face?
They’re all dropping votes.

As long as injustice reigns;
As long as death fills our veins
As long as the Leaders lie
As long as our planet dies.

I will be in your fat face,
because it’s all in mine.

Escaping the Influence of Societal Greed

Elevated insight
So clear
Bright surety

Releasing the grasp of kaleidoscopic obscurity
Accepting any false judgments

Microscopic impurities

They are just contemporary deceits
Don't let them become your present day defeats
Don't feel compelled to let your life be kept discreet

You have the power to disagree
combating the issues of the common least

Questioning the integrity of cosmic longevity
You find that the truth isn't always so heavenly

You may want to give up
But there is no giving up gently

Escaping the influence of societal greed

I can't always be what you want me to be

You must fight
Fight hard and soft
And persevere till your knuckles bleed

Till there's nothing left but the will to be freed

Impassioned by the spirit to live
Tightening the rope
Till there's isn't any give

But to look in the reflection
And be able to forgive

Staring into our own eyes
This isn't the way it’s always been
But this is the time
for your journey to begin

16 Days of Activism

Before we expect them to speak up.
Before we judge them.
Before we make fun of their sufferings.
Before we label them by names;
Let us take a good look at our mindsets.
When they keep silent we call them cowards,
They report the abuse, we laugh at them.
Her name is Rose
But we change it to "the girl that was raped"
Her name is Bridget now we call her "the wife that was beaten up by her husband"
We say things like "Only a coward and fool can be beaten up or raped"
How do we expect them to come forth?
Before we expect them to stand up and fight, we have to change our mindset.
Stop laughing at them and start encouraging them.

Activism

I can say a civil hello
But anymore lie for popularity
And read poems like grade school work
Ignoring the condition of the world
And the disconnect of self
Marginalizing the deeper worth in us
The gift we are given by sacred trust
To make the blind speak
And the dumb listen
The dying pain of trees
We comment on one another
As if we are writing in sandbox again
On the frivolous bend of knees.
Not me
Sticking to the soul marginalization by words
I bend my knees
To pray for more than the mutilation of trees.
