Premium MemberTough Old Bird

Tenacious on occasion.
Orderly always.
Unspoiled by opinions of others.
Generous to a fault.
Honesty is his only policy.

Outperforms what is expected.
Longing for Heaven.
Decisiveness is a strong point.

Backbone shows in the face of adversity.
Ideas that solves problems he owns.
Receptive to the opinions of others.
Downhill is now his direction of flight.

Premium MemberOur Soul's Intent

Our soul is the flame of intent our inner being,
Untold connection with Christ, ourselves to Him,
Resplendent from the start there til after life's end
* An intangible part of us to see it being nurtured.
So driven to divine heights, able to achieve so much.
Our questions to act, notions, where temptation rose.
Ulterior motives ridicule the integrity not able to sin
Like an inkling of intentions appear to come alive
' It's the soul giving you spiritual enlightenment
So the urge to get up and try again, its intent
* It is the light that is the divine essence
As It is the love that radiates life's reason
Such is where inconsolable belief acts
Calmly it is inside us that inner glow
Ever your soul a testament to you
Now raking oppressive thought
Temptation transcends obscurity
* Decisions unfurl, become intent

Premium MemberLacking integrity

Let’s be brutally honest with each other
AI poems are being posted on soup
Can be seen on a daily basis
Keep seeing the same names produce it
I don’t bother alerting admin as
Nothing gets done, so instead I
Go and seek genuine poems… HOWEVER

I USED to read a poem and comment
Now I often copy and paste them
To check for AI, and sadly I
Even search for plagiarism and
Get infuriated when I find it. I’d
Really love an explanation how a dead poet
Is able to post THEIR poem here on the site
The time has come to clean up the soup bowl
Yes let’s rid the site of cheaters and fakers!

CLIMBING GHANA

Courage was what fueled Nkrumah’s flame
Loyal he stood through storm and shame
Integrity carved in his every stride
Memorable his name will not subside
Beyond doubt Ghana’s finest head
In spirit and in stories still widespread
Never bowed to foreign hands
Ghana as Africa lost a visionary leader.

Generations rise on what he gave
Hope reborn from the hearts of the brave
Ashanti drums still beat his praise
Nation proud through darkest days
Africa’s light in Ghana lamp.

America dawn

A new chapter in the country history now begins
Making America Great Again done through unity
Ending the political division that separate people
Republicans and Democrats rebuilding the dream
It is built on the founding fathers' vision for all
Choosing to be part of this new shared vision
American citizens sharing and living that dream

Dust down the founders declaration once again
Awaken the American Dream with your strength
When you stand together, you will stand united
Now, are you ready for the dawn of your dream

“In the jungle of life, this pussycat can turn into a roaring lion!”

Quote Poet’s own

You act like judge and jury; holier than thou
Everybody can read between each line
Sanctimonious, discriminatory old cow
Trust, you don’t know the meaning – fine
Even now you swan around like lady muck
Remember, what goes around comes around
Don’t you realize you’ll finally come unstuck
And then eventually, head deep underground
Yes, I am certain karma will have its day

Why I Chose Belief Over Self

J justice in this world is being stolen
E every nation, lawful & not, sees corruption
S something inside of me sought a mainstay
U unknown to my late light, Spirit saved me anyway
S Someone like Parent is preferred to orphan option

NOTE: I told myself in my teens, if trusting a God gave me peace & less fear of death ..
My clinging to my brain based self, or "intellectual integrity" would not be celebrated after I die!

For Atheists and Agnostics

People have a spirit-shaped need within
Regardless of culture, faith tradition
Atheists et al are as gifted, giving, gregarious
You & families be blessed by The Universe
Every where without religion, good is done
Relationship, not religion, will heal all around

NOTE: Prayer can be communing with Earth (Mother Nature), the Universe, or People of integrity, even if dead today. We are leaving the heavy, weighty Earth plane, & interacting - in Lincoln's words - with the better angels of our nature. Shalom shalom, peace, Eeirene

I Am

Acrostic poetry is not a new thing.
Back then we will play a game,
                                   Using our names.

   Resilient she can be,
Obstacles, was not a challenge for her you see.
Every time try to do her best,
Better, best always A+ for a test.
   Acknowledge always her mistakes.
   Integrity is her virtue,
Never let her values be subdue.

Giving Godly Grace

Giving love that sparkles in purity
Inner peace that permeates the surrounding
Versing the voice of compassion
Imparting righteous values and virtues
Not demanding to be heard, but listening
Generating a charisma by inner elegance

Greatness of God perceiving through prayers
Offering a hand to help, and selfless
Devoted to integrity and consistency in thought and action
Light from within - basking in it and glowing
Yearning to seek truthfulness

Giving the glory of grace, unbiased and fair
Radiating the warm glow of kindness
Acting with humility, rejecting pride
Caring to understand and to forgive freely
Encouraging holiness conforming to God's will

Premium MemberFather's Day

Friendly, charming and loving describe my Dad well.
A man of integrity and pride, I knew I could trust him.
Tennis player extraordinaire, ballroom dancer, history and movie buff,
He was all these and more, so much more.
Even so he had his flaws, but he loved his children.
Restoring old photos and photography were his trade;
Solitude and quiet were what he craved: he was a gentle soul.

Dogs were his best friends: he rescued many, kept a few and they
           adored him.
A day in June, Two thousand thirteen, he left this earth and me.
Years have passed and I still miss his hugs.
