Let’s be brutally honest with each other AI poems are being posted on soup Can be seen on a daily basis Keep seeing the same names produce it I don’t bother alerting admin as Nothing gets done, so instead I Go and seek genuine poems… HOWEVER I USED to read a poem and comment Now I often copy and paste them To check for AI, and sadly I Even search for plagiarism and Get infuriated when I find it. I’d Really love an explanation how a dead poet Is able to post THEIR poem here on the site The time has come to clean up the soup bowl Yes let’s rid the site of cheaters and fakers!

Ahh, the soup bowl. My own thinking is we trust the people we know are real and avoid the ones who we know cheat and steal. I'm just glad you are REAL!!! Jan, you are really terrific and the voice of reasons and fun at the same time!!! Smiles!!

Thanks Jerry, shame standards have slipped so much, I may pen poop but at least I produce it myself! AI poems are posted by people who try to convince us they wrote it when they merely got a bot to do it, but plagiarism is theft of another poets work and the recent posting of a poem from a British poet who died in 1990 certainly leaves a nasty taste in ones mouth:-( hugs jan xx

Really it is the society. It matters if you cheat or steal, but many do. Very sad, indeed. Hugs, Jan!

I can't agree more Aysha, it is so sad to see the plagiarism of someone who died in 1990 - some folk have no integrity and no moral compass and act like butter wouldn't melt. One day the cheaters may get court as plagiarism is a crime but it is bringing the site into disrepute:-( hugs jan xx

Even without them few true poets here. Oh and dead poets, one may come back to life, you know who I mean LOL ( as a dedication page)

Dear Jan, a great poem! Ai doesn't have a heart or a soul, it's sad some people use it to ruin art. Art which is totally made of human heart and soul. You've written a brilliant and powerful poem! Best, Anne

Thanks Anne, Ai is one issue, the theft of poems and posting them as ones own is a different matter. I have seen it a number of times since i joined and its sad to see it raise its ugly head again:-( hugs Jan x

Jan, a great poem and so true. It's a shame that some are using AI and plagiarism. It's even worse that some support such dishonest tactics. Sadly, some are leaving the soup and I think more may follow.

yeah and other poems too which were ripped off the web, its about the 5th time I've been aware of plagiarism since i joined soup in 2014 but I find it so much more upsetting than Ai simply because it is theft of another person's work whereas AI is a computer bot doing the work in stead of the poet writing it. hugs jan xx

Respectfully: so much energy, effort, talent wasted on anti-AI rants. Don’t disagree but we need to concentrate on our best work. Doubt Ps management or AI-poets care. They laugh at us. If they ruin the Site we move on….what else is available to legitimate poets??

The poem is not a rant any more than the persistent posting of blogs about hate poetry and it is not just about AI , when a poem of a poet who died in 1990 is posted as a poet's own work it leaves more than a nasty taste in one's mouth. hugs jan x

Wow! Your anger is very well-expressed here, Jan, rightfully so. I guess I mainly read work by familiar names so I’m not seeing this as blatantly as you are, but it boggles the mind why the administration will not do something about it, especially when they’ll get their knickers in a knot when someone uses a word they consider offensive (which likely isn’t at all)…
