What person would dare decry
the wonder of sunset's sky.
Before light begins to fade
Sunset's colors on parade!

Crimson, gold, even a pink.
we pause and begin to think
Of Nature's wonder, her gift,
dusting world with golden sift.

Soon dusk spills shadows on field,
nudges mountain top to yield.
Silhouettes of lilac blue
dapple Earth in softest hue.

Sunset abdicates her hold
on a world she turned to gold.
Night arrives in ebon skirt,
and begins her starlit flirt.

Parasitic Plant

i touched your leaf
then ran away
and some of you
came home with me
parasitic plant
how i feel
is how you see
a blade of grass
without a leaf
a buried soul
within a root
a beating heart
inside the tissue
of a vine
i'm blown away
all because of you

And by your method
you germinate
as my soul abdicates
releasing myself
inside your life
lovely hungry
parasitic plant

Amazing alligators antagonize anyone’s annual anteaters
As antelopes arrive at the annual annulment.
Annoying Aunt Amanda alleges all anticipation awful.
As anticipated Abigail Alliwogger assassinates anteaters.
Anointed antonym annihilates Aunt Amanda and abdicates
Amazing alligators announcing annual anteater’s annulment.

Premium Member A Poet's Spring

Winter’s snowy mantel is quietly disappearing
Slowly he abdicates his reign until next year
This year’s queen is putting on her freshest dress
Every day its tender colors blushingly appear …

The heart of every hungry poet gladdens now
The joy of renewal must now be put to pen
What was a dream becoming reality once again
And words flow from that hidden place within…..

Frantically we write of fields of yellow daffodils
The lamb’s bleat, the new bud upon the branch
Emotions twist and turn about in springtime breezes
And happily we explore the flavors of this year’s romance…

Moonlit Serenity

The sun abdicates the sky and is succeeded by the moon
Ay, but on this eve, the moon doth shine particularly bright
Illuminating the vast desert landscape as if it were noon
Lo, the sun is ever so envious as he slumbers this night

“Tomorrow it shall be day, thus I will reclaim my proper position”
Said the sun, with the upmost bravado in his speech
Quoth the moon, “Alas, you shall fulfill your cherished disposition
But hark dear sun, a multitude of virtues, to you, I shall teach”

Amidst the quarrel, life progresses at an ever so steady pace
As the sun surely rises, so the humans in turn, do the same
Assuredly prompted by intuitions of grace
And the moon proceeds in slumber, with much to proclaim

Truly, a pair is merely singular, if only one is to lead
Thus shall we be ever so content with the other’s every good deed

An Endless Trek

The time has come, let us make haste
For the sun grows ever so dim
By this, we have not time to waste
And surely, the raging storms appear to be grim

Let not fear be the captain of our mind’s
Rather, muster up your might in the presence of darkness
Lest we fail to overcome the prospect of mankind
And let us not be known by any unfavorable harkness

Surely, the seas are wavering and unsteady
Thus we are bound to this boundless expedition
And surely seek a route in which we’ve found comfort already
How exquisite it is, one’s inevitable rendition

Ay, the sun abdicates the sky, surely marking the day’s end
And from this endless voyage of life, we must surely transcend

In Motion

My heart in motion
palpitates a wild tarantella,
resonates vibrant valves
and grieves for you,
my choosing.

Then juiced on devotion,
elevates a blue umbrella,
supplicates and salves,
in letting go,
fears losing.

The reversal of motion
integrates calming distance,
initiates fast retreat,
this failing heart
lest I forget it.

No more to cry an ocean,
abdicates my once insistence,
resuscitate a love so sweet
become my life,
and not regret it.
