Premium Member It Never Ceases

With varying degrees of intensity,
   my internal war rages on.

Freedom of choice vs. obligation to others,
a conflict that’s been fought since time’s dawn.

The battle requires a decision to be made
   that personal responsibility must mediate.

Choosing a position to take is juxtaposed
to choosing a position to abdicate.

The skirmish renews each morning,
since the tempest percolates whilst I sleep.

There’s no option that involves fleeing
because the repercussion would echo too deep.

I long for a palatable solution,
which could usher in welcomed peace.

But my internal war will continue raging on,
'til I find an existential release.

Premium Member If Forced to Relinquish Ten Things

If I am forced to relinquish ten things, these are the things I will abdicate:
Politics
Liver
Rat poison
Cars without chrome
Dirty windows
Housework
Mean people
Gossipers
Drug dealers
People who don’t like dogs

Hawaii, my birthplace, and hometown
Fell victim of being colonized and uprooted
Those dirty rats ceased the cheese
By the 1900's the U.S annexed the territory
In other words, Hawaii was taken by force
And without consent
It's like the dirty rats came in and flexed their muscle
Much to the heartache and protest of the natives
Those disease-carrying rodents overthrew the kingdom
Queen Liliuokalani was forced to abdicate
A cultural genocide took root
The teachings of Hawaiian in schools wiped out
Housing and land requisitioned and displaced by military bases
And the underbelly of those dirty rats grew and grew
Today Hawaii is still a tropical paradise
Tourists flock to the island in droves
There are palm trees and sandy beaches everywhere
But it's the whispers and echoes of the natives
Pointing a finger at the dirty rats
And bemoaning their freedom and the 50th star on the flag
That will be forever lost

N/A-Another one. What else is new? I should go back to playing checkers.

to assert or abdicate
we choose in patience to wait
trusting God to empower
in each node a bliss shower

dreams appear and disappear
there is in truth no one here
all that that is is a flame
which may be assigned no name

Premium Member 7:15 on a Sunday evening

7:15 on a Sunday evening
Sparrows abdicate a sunny throne
Chattering Coyotes scan the field
Church doors are locked
The swirling scent of incense settles
Cold winds whistle ‘round the steeple
A lone bat hangs idle in the belfry
An old woman walks her dog
Stops to admire the majestic locked doors
Wonders why Sunday evening is so different
Than Sunday morning

Brushing teeth in school,to be like a golden rule,
Cutting back on a shuggery meal
Seems quite the lead; by touch and feel
Yet its quite ok to add, to their water (not a fad)
Around thirty three things? or more, from God knows what store?
Also injecting experimental drugs, from some mad alien thugs
Watching bloody wars, is part of life for them now raw'
Trangender also a big thing, its merits 'they must sing' so its
All good, and clear and fine, if you will just abdicate the mind?
Let an ideology run wild, takeing over every child.'
With (a i ) to follow life even more, i wonder why my heads
So sore? Yet i'm also sure; thats what is best.! is a human scale
We all need to face lifes usual gales, yet no more blasts of
Such reckless social change, from the no doubt insular.!
And of Minds deranged.'

Premium Member Patriot Call

Load your musket, patriot
Get out onto the street
Taste the blood that scars your land
Leave their bodies at your feet

They destroyed your home with violence
Robbed your children of their lore
Your leaders nothing but mere fools
As they glorify each whore

And now their minions quash your fate
Erase your culture with their hate
Left you naked to abdicate

So, lead the fight to free this land
From the heinous jackal's greed stained hand

Stand together as before
To slay these devils and their corps

The king announced he might abdicate,
but first his enemies he would castigate.
He thought slowly and did concentrate
before he sought them to intimidate.

His comely wife he did adulate.
He did not wish to deprecate
her reputation so he did hesitate,
himself or her, to incriminate.

She had no thought to duplicate,
no desire at all to replicate
and he was willing to extricate
himself from the desire to procreate.

His enemies ready to infiltrate,
he sought the wisdom to meditate
on how he might obdurate
and keep his kingdom inviolate.

By labeling as dog or swine,
I thus usurp decrees divine.
By casting pearls, I abdicate
A chance to share that God is great.
The flavor of the pulp was moot
In Mrs. Doubtfire’s drive-by fruit.
The gospel is a precious thing,
Not deadly stones launched with a sling.
When my salvation’s cause to gloat,
The chance I see my beam’s remote.
For ere God got a hold of me,
I fear I was far worse than thee.
So I will pick my words with care,
And come along beside you there.
I’ll not begrudge your heart’s incline,
Nor hurl my pearl, nor think you swine,
And then perhaps we’ll both agree:
Our Judge alone can set us free.

Taking Delight In the Lord

My life
Not to playing fife
Only to drums in strife
But dance with sharp knife
On neck luring against afterlife
When earth seems a crazy wife

My destiny
Gearing up irony
Unto peace, money
And risk to eat honey
Leading lustful agony
Away off possible felony

Both are planned
To measure my stand
Cum life riddle's demand
Calling out ways to expand
And abdicate His commands
Of how would height expands?

Unto God
I rest my rod
Red sea to prod
And betwixt I plod
While Egypt fly jihad
Upon decree by Fahd

Talons Extended

Unlike the first Revolution…
this time we have to take America
back from within
Like drug and alcohol addiction
we need detox
and rehabilitation
The traitors and despoilers left
to wither and die
Too many have sacrificed
for the freedoms we take for granted
to abdicate our responsibility
to the lunatic fringe

Can we abdicate
thoughts that agitate,
which shrivel our soul,
burning like hot coal?

To whom do thoughts come,
that veil God’s kingdom,
shrouding divine light,
making day like night?

In-dwelling this form,
invite bliss pulse warm
to throb in each pore,
whilst keeping no score!

Pleasant Spring Like Day February 17th, 2022 Part Two

Decreased dissension
grudgingly did abate
unclouded protests trumpet
Trump to abdicate
irrefutable proof generates
activist voices to accumulate
linkedin over Green Party
blessedly to administrate

hoop fully figurative tide
will turn and aerate
political atmosphere whereby
progressive minds will affiliate
otherwise business as usual,
cuz spewing deadly particulate
will only aggravate
dire straits, where
webbed wide world series

of unfortunate events will airdate
prophetic apocalyptic fate
especially if nonprogressive
stodgy commander in chief re-elected
flush with bigotry and hate
increased chance (chants) ripe state
for revolution avast swath
of population to amalgamate,

and overthrow anachronistic government
absolute zero survival unless dramatic
nondestructive strategy eschewed
to supplant exploitation and mandate
radical transformation, which dramatic
shift off grid if lucky requisite
Earth friendly manufacturing
can possibly ameliorate.

THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE without grammatical symbols the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and respond thus making the form a two way interplay and often a unique interpretation by the enigma so derived

Premium Member Abdicate the Throne

Abdicate the throne born from thorns
We’ve borne trauma too long
Heed voice of conscience that so warns
Time’s now to sing love’s song

Shifting from ‘me’ to ‘we’
Holds our happiness key
In carefree, joyous spree

All attachments thrown
Abdicate the throne
