WHATT.. 28 CONTESTS ON SOUP!

as i write this, i can see there are 28 contests on the challenge page-- a record-breaker, considering that i usually join a regular bunch of 18 offers!.. with different requirements, forms of poetry,and reminders from sponsors, my head is bursting at the moment, lol !...

no, i am not complaining... but given a month to post something that is truly deserving, this would mean one poem a day to catch up on all contests.. i have no more ammunition, let alone poetic words to create worthy pieces... often, i would stay till 3am to scribble some nonsensical , mambo-jumbo works just to check if i can join more challenges...

i know, i know it's fun to stretch the creative envelope, then again, i am simply amazed by the range and number of contests going on... could it be the thrill of spring, the influence of a coming new moon, or the enthusiasm of many sponsors to break our bones??.. will it be 29 or 30 comps tomorrow?

let's have a marathon and count the wrinkles, soupers!.. i will ask for a week's leave from work to make sure i can support ya all ( can't, can't!)... so, how many can you do, dear poets??

yeah, and I don't even have time for half of them!!! Good thing a few of them do not interest me, or I'd be going bonkers!!!

Nette I participated in about eight contests in five yrs,one of which is yours..So plus and minus the ratio would be with minus..but Im trying to get out of my shell : )..Hehe

Hi Nette, I only enter the contests that I like to enter. When there are more to choose from, then we can be more selective. You do not have to enter all of them. That would burn out anyone. You write your best when you take your time......Hugs......Roger

Cough, cough!DiD you say 28?. It was less 5 days ago. I write mainly to feed my passion---as for contests, I am choosy. Back to 28; really that's a lot. How observant of you, dear Netts!

I'm finding out as I read nette that the judges are being questioned for the choices they make, I only enter competitions for the fun of it and this has taken some of the gloss off of it for me.

I haven't written much lately for contests. There are only 2 that make me tingle at the moment. How much can we really chew, Nette? Like you, I go for what " fires" me up. And so it is! You got mail!

Write to please yourself, Soul sis. Don't drain yourself. Pick n choose the contests. If anything speaks to you, jot a line and go from there. I think its great that there is so much out there.. maybe some who usually do not enjoy the contest page may find something that interests them... inspiration.... ME? I finished a poem I had started.. I doubt I'll be writing a thing for contests for at least a year... but, who knows... something may pop up, flip my imagination switch, and then (and only then) will I write for a contest. Too busy, right now. Love the pink typewriter. May need to copy paste that.. LOL.. so my life right now. HUGS!!!!

Oh dear! As a contestaphobe, this blog is absolutely frightening! ;) I just started entering contests after a hiatus. Joined Craig's contest and I'm DRAINED! Wrote a limerick for Andrea, but IT ISN'T EVEN FUNNY! Yup! Too tired. I guess it's cause I'm DOWN WITH THE FLU! Couldn't teach classes today, and I'm miserable! BOO HOO HOO! SO, I guess as a new PM I won't host a new contest anytime SOON!!! I was thinking of trying out my new form, Eileenesque, but you poor dear contest entrants. You have it tough as it is. I'll wait. I can't join contests that don't MOVE me, so for me...it isn't that much of a problem! I pick and choose and sing the blues...when I don't place...what a disgrace! HA HA!

I saw them with my own eyes, Nette. This calls for my superman power which is fantasy, haha! Can't believe we have so many challenging games this month. If I make 4 at the very least, Clark Kent can stay in his desk! An exciting time for all members. Good blog!
