I WAS IN SAN FRANCISCO...ANY SOUPER FROM THAT AREA?

yup, i was gone for a while, like 12 days and just arrived in my own part of the world a few hours ago, bringing wonderful memories of my brother's wedding in SF, silicon vallley, not to mention a king-sized jet lag!

me bad!.. i forgot to ask who lived within that area.. ohh, i wanted to play catch-up with you guys, darn memory loss!..grrr.. since the festivities were aplenty, my laptop simply stayed in my tote bag, prompting me to have a huge separation anxiety from my soupie-friends...

though SF is not new to me as i visit the USA at least twice a year, i had fun revisiting good ole golden gate, napa valley, stanford, monterey, sau saulito,and other popular sites... the new places i experienced were terrific--saratoga for a jazz fest, livermore's factory outlet ( gimme some retail therapy, lol), and google park!

of course, the wedding tore me apart-- our whole clan was there from different countries, and i'm still astral traveling now!

i missed you all... who among you guys are from san francisco?.. my next visit might be next year, so let's party!..most of you know i have nagged about a TPS reunion years back---ohh, that would be incredibly insane!

okay, i got my loot, souvenirs, eye-drops for some emo moments, etc.. any other ideas as to what i can do when fly there again?

Nette, I don't live in SF, but travel there often for business. The city and surrounding area is a favorite and I often stay an extra day to amuse myself in her delights and beauty. Speaking of which I must say that I'm partial to deep lavender.. and you certainly make that fortunate dress, pop! Bike riding is without a doubt one of the purest joys here. A ride with a fellow poet could provide relaxed inspiration. Perhaps fate may make our schedules congruent in the future.

You totally forgot about me. Just over an hour east of SF in Sacramento. :( Either way, super glad you had a great time! Awesome pics! If your visit here happens again, I will gladly setup a Poetry celebration/gathering/whatever as I've wanted one too for a long time.

You'd have a ball with Me and lin. I know a couple of soup poets from San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Christi. Ft Worth and Spring Texas.

I remember the Piers way back. Did you revisit the sites there? A few are similar to Orchard Road here in Singapore. You sure had a lot of fun!

Hi, Nette. I grew up in the Sacramento area (Rancho Cordova), but have visited San Francisco a number of times. It's been awhile, though, as I have lived in Florida for over 20 years. Glad you had a great time and safe trip home.

I do not live there but have spent a lot of time there in the past. I love California, top to bottom. So glad you had a wonderful time. It's always nice to spend time with loved ones. and I know how you ladies are about shopping! Get some rest, I know that jet lag is pretty rough. Great to see you posting and happy you had a safe trip:):)

Hi Nette! I was born in San Francisco and grew up in Palo Alto! But I've lived in San Diego away from the Bay Area over 23 years. My parents live in Santa Rosa and Sebastopol (Sonoma Co.) so I go up there at least twice a year. So if there is ever a Poetry Soup "reunion" I'm all over it :)

No wonder; a disappearing act! I've been to SF only twice when Oz got too cold. I remember Union Square and Crooked Street. Looks like you had fun! Glad you're back.

How fun, Nette! Although we live about 3 hours north of SF, my oldest son's family lives in the Napa Valley area, and we visit there often. Going into the city gives unlimited chances to sight-see, one excursion that's quite "unique" is to take a cruise to Alcatraz Island, site of the old prison. It's open to the public for tours. Of course many old favorites. Everyone usually visits Lombard Street,Fisherman's Wharf...etc.But I'd recommend driving north a bit, into the redwoods, or maybe Bodega Bay, Mendocino, the quaint coastal towns where so many movies have been filmed. California has amazing coasts, gorgeous views! So glad you visited our state...we have it all!
