GUESS WHO I MET PERSONALLY FROM SOUP TODAY?..YEAHH!

as i write this, souper jake ponce is done with his sumptuous plate of tomato/basil grilled chicken pasta---his eyes warming to the cozy ambiance of the roadside cafe we're at...

when i arrived i saw him quietly seated at the corner, enjoying the music from his mp3 player..

i waved at him from across the room and beckoned him to come over.. we shook hands, got very much acquainted at first glance and what followed was a conversation like no other ranging from our artistic beginnings to poetry styles we both have explored and other poets whose works we adore..

more than this it's the spontaneity and warmth of two souls who communicate their earthly presence that made this meeting a very personal one.

so here we are!

to top things up, here's an impromptu collab we did just for you guys..

we sit for hours rising and falling
with daffodils and salty marbles
below some kind of clouds yellow..
and topaz, gathering a dance of imagination
that swells in unknown closeness and openness
of souls painting winds together.

Painted strangely under amber lights
They made it close to the moors
Lining the edges of their quills
Scratching intently on pages
Rousing images from the depths of their sleep
As we sit for hours waxing and waning

for those of you who still don't know jake ponce, please drop by his page..

he has won several contests on the soup..

next time... nikko, aiyah, olive, arden peter, and the rest of the filipino poets, we will be together soon like thunder and lightning!

what a day this has been!

The poetry you and Jake Ponce written so beautifully is perfect for the occasion (when you guys met). This is lovely and amazing. Wow! I'm glad to see you both become friends and meet each other in person. That's a treat indeed! I want to meet you both in person one day, however, I'm in California, USA...unfortunately, but I'll visit you guys some day in my dreams and in reality. Have a fantastic week all!

Nette Onclaud is gracious, funny and incredibly smart. It's like ideas will spill out of her head if she tilts it. LOL and her energy is through the roof. I'm really glad I was able to meet her in person. What better way to honor her than create a poem that captures her personality.

How wonderful for both of you!! It goes to show what a small world it actually has become. The closest to meeting in person, is to have had the opportunity to listen in to Soupers read on Drake's Radio Blog show (as you well know).....but to meet in person is even better! Good for you!
