How sad it is to learn of Tim's death. Some years ago we met on this site and wrote some poetry together. He did have a terrific sense of humor and a heart torn by the loss of his wife and son. He was a wonderful poet as well. So very, very sad. If you find out what happened, Roy, please let us know.

I am so saddened by his passing. He always commented on my poetry in such a beautiful way. And his poetry was always so touching. A beautiful man. Just recently I found he had not posted on poetry soup for some time as I too hadn't so I went and posted on his facebook telling him how I missed reading his poetry. He was a man who loved his family so much.

I have read the poem now and it seems very familar to me. Maybe I have already read it and at that time, I was wondering about how he was doing. I must go see if I had commented to it already. Do you have any info for us on where we can go to leave condolences to the family?

He had many great poems posted here. I was just thinking of him yesterday. Reading this news seems unreal.

OMG,Roy. This is just so sad to me. I have not been coming to blogs any more, but someone wanted me to see one of theirs and I chanced upon this one. I got to talk with Tim one time by phone and we had such a wonderful conversation. I had missed him these past few years and knew he had had some difficulties last year. Had left some notes at FB and I think he must have been dealing with his health. Thanks so much for letting us know. Heaven has just acquired an amazing soul on its doorstep.

I recall Tim saying on arrival here he located PS as place to record his poetic endeavours and his anthology here is a fitting tribute epitaph of the talent of this fine PS poet

I thought I'd share the following poem the I found on Tim's 5th page of poems. -------------------------- By: Tim Ryerson I Do Not Fear Dying I do not fear dying I fear suffering and dying like being my children's next burden like forgetting who I am or ever was like becoming a 90 year-old in diapers like hanging on far after it's time to let go No, I do not fear dying I fear suffering and dying

I must admit that while the name is familiar to me, I really can't quite place him. I do know he was a human whose earth light is now extinguished and that you are absolutely doing all an internet friend can. Not really being in a Soup friend's life limits our day to day knowledge of them but not our emotion. Glad y'all enjoyed each other as you described - I have a feeling he will stay with you for awhile. Thanks for telling and take it easy on yourself. All the best to you, Roy. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

This dear man was a good heart! Just like many of you, we shared some laughter and lovely moments. The first time we really connected was over some silly moment in an old movie that we had both seen years ago from "The Body Snatchers". Tim was just like that! Could make something so silly into a moment that I'll always remember. We often shared classic music videos . He loved to share. I'm so very sorry to know he is gone, but also know he missed his beloved wife and son and at long last is reunited. A special man

I just left a note on Keith's post.. thanks for this. He was SUCH a good and generously spirited man. He suffered loss in his life, and I agree... He's up there laughing...but I'm picturing happy tears, finally with those he loves the most. Hugs to you, Cyndi
