Wonderful tribute to one of my first childhood "heroes", (along with guys like Alan Shepard, Chuck Yeager, Crossfield, White, Glenn, Lovell, Haise, Aldrin, etc.) ... they were ALL larger than life for me, and until Star Trek TOS, the only riders to the stars. I remember being at our camp on the lake watching late one July eve as Neil took his first steps, (I was 11 and allowed to stay up that night), and being in my 6th grade class watching for the three striped parachutes to return Apollo 13 safely back to earth ... two moments when all of humanity took a collective gasp of breath. I have missed that kind of event, but perhaps we'll be back to the moon soon, I pray, and we'll feel it again.

This is one of the best poems I have seen written on this topic, Roy. Very nice tribute. This is a day many of us who lived it will never forget . RIght up there with Kennedy's assassination and 9.11. We will always remember where we were when those things happened.

A fantastic tribute to an amazing man, today we have been to a 2 hour talk/ film on the moon landing, my son was fascinated and thoroughly enjoyed it, one of the speakers had met Buzz Aldrin and we discovered Neil Armstrong had visited our little Island several times:-) hugs Jan xx

Beautiful tribute Roy, space exploration has always facinated me. Remember getting up on July 20th to watch the historic event on our black and white TV. Tom.
