Sounds familiar???

Being awake at 4am this morning (I was having one of my bad nights) I was aware of the most beautiful spring dawn chorus. The road on which I live is the most beautiful victorian tree lined road (a picture is posted) and in the spring and autumn looks particulary fabulous as the new buds grow and colours change and beyond the end of our road is a river the countryside. Because of this we have an array of our feathered friends who come at this time of the year to nest in them. Their song this morning brought light to what had turned out to be a really black night for me (as most people will be aware - I lost my husband eight weeks ago) and was so uplifting that I couldn't help but be soothed by it - indeed listening to them - I finally drifted off to sleep again until the postman woke me up at 7.30 and then I was up and at em! There are so many sounds in the world which fill you with wonder and awe and it made me think about other sounds which have fond memories - like the waves lapping the shore where Billy and I used to go fishing, or the sound of the crowd at our local footballs team ground where we went without fail until Billy became ill. It also made me wonder what sounds are my fellow soupers particular favourites and or what sounds bring a special memory.
