Absence of mind

I would just like to say a big thank you for the comments on the two pieces of work I have posted over the last week. I have been away from the soup for a while - as many of you know I lost my husband in february and it has been a rough six months, and your comments have been so encouraging. 

I have found it hard to write - I used to bounce so many ideas off Billy so lost my muse for a while - where before words and thoughts seemed to come easily, at present writing seems to be a bit of a slog - but at least I'm still writing.

We scattered Billy's ashes at his favourite fishing place two weeks ago, where I used to write as he fished, and I think this has been the catalyst for me to now move forward with my life.  I have started to compile my anthology of poetry to see if a publisher will take it on and have had two pieces of work accepted for a national magazine that is notoriously hard to get into so all in all - things seem to be on the up.

I hope that everyone is fit and healthy and that life is going well for you all. It is nice to know that in a world that is constantly changing - the soup family is still there to come back to and is always so welcoming no matter how long you have been away and that is something I cherish very much.
