What a busy bee!!!

My apologies fellow soupers but it has been some time since I posted a poem or a blog but my last month has been absolutely crazy. I have been so busy with other things that I have hardly had time to think. My writing group has been putting together an anthology of our work called 'In Our Own Write' that we want to publish but it has been hard trying to find a publisher to take it on that we have decided to fund the project ourselves (we need £800) and as being a fundraiser is part of my profession, it has fallen to me to try and find someone who will be kind enough to donate the funds. I have been fund raising for some years now and usually have a high hit rate (having raised £250,000 for the project where I work over the past year) but it is surprising how few grant making companies give to the arts - it is a sad indictment in todays age that the arts and literature are bottom of the pile when it comes to awarding grants. But - I am not giving in just yet and shall continue my search for a generous benefactor and get our anthology published. I shall keep you posted and hopefully you will all soon be able to buy a copy.
