IT'S ALL BACKWARDS...WE ARE SUPPOSED TO GO FIRST

I have some very sad news to share with you my friends and your prayers are most needed and will be deeply appreciated

A very fine and beautiful lady I had been dating just lost her 13 year old daughter a little over two weeks ago in the worst possible way: Suicide. She hung herself with an extension cord that she tied to a dresser in her bedroom To add to this tragedy, my lady friend and her mom discovered her and tried unsuccessfully to take her down. She did not leave a note so they will never know the reason why...

The last time we talked (yesterday) she said she was a broken woman and could not see herself ever smiling or laughing again. The shock had worn off and she was starting to feel the terrible pain and guilt. Having lost a son to a drunk driver, I VERY carefully told her as tactfully as possible that this was a part of the grieving process. My biggest concern is when it finally sinks in; that awful and final realization that she is really gone which I know so well...

The young lady's name was Holly Meissner and her mother's name is Kim...The reason I am giving their names is that when my beloved, Christian father prayed for someone, he always used their full name

I am also somewhat selfishly asking you to remember me in your prayers as well as I try to offer support and hopefully help to guide her through this...

Thanks for your continued prayers Richard...I'm okay but Kim isn't which is natural...She has left the house only a few times since Holly's passing...The family is kind of clinging to each other right now and none of them want to go out into public yet. Kim's two sons are staying with them now too and they go out and run errands etc. for the family

Thanks again Richard - I wanted to share this with you because with your constant prayers, you are showing the same qualities my dad was blessed with...It is a quote by pastor Dave Yearick at his memorial service: “Jim was the most humble man I ever knew, but he didn’t KNOW he was humble; because if he had KNOWN he was humble, he would not have been humble anymore”

Tim this is hard to absorb. This is a reminder life and children are precious. Even though we listen, we never know what's going on in the inside of a young adults mind. I will pray for you and Kim. Her loss is grand. Every time I hear tragic stories like this. I hold my boys tightly, A reminder to never take the ones that make us whole for granted. I can't even begin to imagine her pain, losing two children, before her time. We are supposed to be the ones called home first. I don't know God's plans, how he allows a child to depart before his/her parents. I pray you help her mend Your heart will offer the support, being close and having a loss of your own. I don't understand grieving as much as others. But, I know you will offer the support Kim, needs. Forever **SKAT**

There are not words enough to describe this kind of heartbreak and tragedy. Anyone who has been touched by suicide knows this fact. But may our prayers, love and support, in time, help many hearts to heal. It will help her to have your friendship, dear Tim.

Oooooooo... Tim! I am beyond sorry... I will pray for all. Will send an email tonight. Suicide is such a hard to cope with loss (I know, as my mother committed suicide) and to lose a child that way??!!! I hurt deeply for Kim. Even though someone very close to me took their own life, I know that I can not even imagine what she is going through... love sent at this impossibly painful time.

Cyndi - You are SUCH a good and faithful friend and my condolences on the loss of your mother. Young people around Holly's age are SO susceptible and vulnerable to suicide because it seems that everything is so magnified. Kim was a loving and caring mother and still this tragedy happened. Our family's prayers are with you and your loved ones. I will mention her whole name in my prayers. My Uncle commited suicide many years ago. It is indeed a true tragedy when a young one goes before us.

Tim, you are on my mind and prayers. I'm sad reading this blog. Molly had a tragic end. I can't emphasize with Kim, but I offer all my sympathy. I can't imagine what she's going through. I don't think I could handle this if it was my child. You are a wonderful friend. She's blessed to have you. I pray you can offer the love and support Kim, needs. Tim, words cannot express what is in my heart for this dear lady. I am so sorry. You know that I understand; for many weeks, I lived with the possibility that Kenny's death was from an overdose. The death of a child is cataclysmic, but that one would die at his/her own hand carries a unique pain. My prayers are for her and for you as you try to help her. Love you!
