What was that guy's name???? - Tony Lane's Blog

Hi everyone! Gwendolen told me that there was some question about my recent lack of attendance. I thought that was strange because I had clearly posted my where-abouts earlier. Now that I check, no I didn't.

Some of you know that I am not really a poet. That would be any of you who have read my poems. What I actually do for my creative expression is write plays. Usually this is not that big of a problem for me but the one that I have choisen to write this time is tricky. It's not my story. I have a friend named Dave Krewson who has written a novel, (Robby Braveheart.) Look it up and buy it. He asked me to turn his novel into a play. I said, "Sure, no problem." Never having turned a novel into a play before I had no idea what I was saying. The following week, another friend of mine, Kerry Clark, a singer song writer, look him up and buy his stuff, asked me if I would help him write a musical. I said, "Sure, that will be fun." Since I have never done that before either, I had no idea what i was saying.

Anyway, this is a long way of saying that this is kicking my butt. My real life job has just gone through a transition and I have new people working for me and new areas that I am in charge of. I have a lot going on. I miss you all. I promise I'll stop by more.

Debbie said, we bring baggage to what we read and write, but I'd go farther with that. We bring baggage to how we think. I'm no mad stalker, or anything. Just missed your friendly face. I am so glad to hear that you are working on your play and are well. I am supposed to be working on my novel instead of playing with poetry. So, one day, my time on Soup will really have to be cut. Cyndi Macmillan Date: 1/25/2012 6:17:00 PM Hi, Tony! I'm so glad you dropped by to say hi and that you're just busy! True story: my first love's name was Sean, and we met at summer camp. Both of us 17. We were head over heals, but lived some distance apart. We sent mad, crazy love letters, after sharing only one, very chaste kiss. He was a champion swimmer, and had won tournaments and wanted to go as far as he could in the sport. He visited me, and we made plans for me to visit him. Then his letters just stopped, and I was so miffed, I didn't write or call him. I just ASSUMED he'd bailed. Well, I didn't say much to my family or my grandmother about it... a month passed and I went to my grandmothers and she looked at me oddly. That look that comes when somebody has something horrible to say, but doesn't. She asked about Sean. I told her that he'd just stopped writing. She told me she'd read that a 17 year old competive swimmer (from his town) had drowned. I was devastated. I never have found out the truth. So... Cont.. Login to Reply
