Peru

As more than a few
flew to Peru
to peruse the view
who knew
or had a clue
what a man's to do
in the cerulean blue
but stand in the queue
to use the loo
and if you go too
or tootle on through
in lieu of a zoo
you're due to accrue
sights of a llama or two
in Machu Picchu

Look at us

Zoo animals two by two
marching on cue to jolly upbeat tune
parading for us to admire

Winnie the Pooh

Often Piglet and Winnie the Pooh
head out to the zoo
a slight detour and they come up to a beehive
for sweet honey it sure is worth a dip and a dive

Busy

sorry, I did not hear you ~ was busy looking around in the zoo

Waddler

Today I saw Gorilla waddler in his way inside the poets zoo

A day at the Zoo

I called to the monkey who wore a pinstriped suit,
Found out the giraffe and hippo are mute.
Saw a man stare at a lemur 'til dark,
Like he was waiting for some kind of spark.

The leaves fell from trees, an impressive display,
So I waved my arms like I made it that way.
A woman made comment to me,

The Elk

There once was an elk a lonely elk
not a wapiti or moose
who had no friends not even a whelk
so he went in search the silly goose
hoping for the milk
of elkish kindness
with another of his ilk
tho' he did go looking high and low
roaming all around in the snow
sad to say at the end of the day

ZOO LIFE

Zoo life is where some live, they are trapped in the zoo of life. 
They stay all day in the zoo, living in their cage. 
They wait to see all the people pass them by so they can jump up and down, and make a show. 
They need love and care; they only want attention

Zoo Baboon

A zoo baboon people called Mildred
kept holding her hand out to get fed.
When she showed her behind,
I then wished I were blind.
It was hideous, bulbous and red.

Clouds Talking To Me

I love to sit and watch the clouds,
as they dance across the big blue sky.
If I watch and wait what will I see,
animals like a zoo walking by.
One day I ask a big bright white cloud,
where are you going?

My Personal Zoo

I will have a caged hoatzin for sure
Hilarious that he’ll smell like manure
A tube of hummingbird acrobats
Barn swallows and wrens to amuse my cats

Their cave so large, there might be an echo
Saltwater crocodiles and black cobras too
I am building my own personal zoo

The Legend of Lincoln Park Zoo

It was gloomy today i never knew why but
it always seems that way in a big city
the south side all lined with beautiful 
homes all the same sizes and shapes 
somehow the sun just doesn't seem 
to make it off the ground here while
the west side has some quaint sparks
of sun and the east side

Spring - What Are You Saying???

Birds are chirping and singing,
little ones in their nests are swinging.
Some are red and some just flew,
one went right by you.


Flowers are now awakening,
their pretty colors will be breathtaking.
Love them in colors of white~pink~yellow and blue,
a pretty site as we walk around the zoo.


Did you hear the big yellow bee?
His buzzing sound fills me with

Zany Zoo Adventure

Apes bounce crazily,
Daring elephants frolic,
Giraffes hilariously interact,
Juggling kangaroos leap,
Monkeys noisily orchestrate,
Penguins quietly race,
Snakes twirl under vines,
Wolves xerox yaks,
Zebras zigzag.

Will Visits the Zoo

William and I went to visit the zoo.
A big sprawling zoo exceedingly grand
We saw lions and tigers, some red kangaroo,
Cute mini monkeys from a far distant land,
And an ostrich who hid his head in the sand.

Past the wild horses on flat open ground
A wide green pasture beneath the blue skies
The wonders of wonders was there
