Notes About The Poem

For the the 'Out on a Lim' Poetry Contest of Joseph May

Zoo Baboon

A zoo baboon people called Mildred
kept holding her hand out to get fed.
When she showed her behind,
I then wished I were blind.
It was hideous, bulbous and red.

What would you have said if she had a blue behind?! Well done, Andrea.

I'd have given her the name of Sue and thought of a different second line with end rhyme that goes with blue. Maybe stick in word zoo! Haha

LOL! Look away! (no relation to the baboon, my gma was Mildred. She rolled her long hair upon her head, had a cute voice and giggle.)

Beautiful limerick. Andrea, I can so well relate with your feeling. Baboons have a bulbous, red repulsive back..... :)

I looked up why the butts are red. It's the female who is worse. Her red rear end attracts males when she is fertile. hahaha.
