Sailing far beyond the fading shore,
Dusk till dawn, laboring at the oar,
Ears acquainted with the ropes and cleats,
While the mind races where the ocean meets.
Wounds of the heart evade the brush,
Loneliness weeping in the evening hush,
Smiles are buried deep and out of sight,
As hands grow frozen in the dead of night.
Dream the restless waters bloom in rows,
Where ocean winds wrap like a warm embrace,
Drift on the vessel, letting worries go,
And find your harbor in this quiet place.
the goblins and ghouls were aghast and agog
a brilliantly bubbly boo creature was down in the bog
Friendly Freddy the flippant fly-by-night frog
Raced up to the barnyard to incite the hog
It’s Halloween, and things are not as they should be
The hive down the hill has lost its queen bee
There is a bear staggering around singing off key
Here comes a monster, I think we should flee
The hog was happily rolling his corpulent body in mud
He would not have moved for a crazy rabbit or Elmer Fudd
Halloween never worried him, he liked the extra candy
He always received on the first, when it was thrown out by Randy
Would you shed a tear
Or just live like everyday
If it is tomorrow
That God takes me away
To his kingdom in the clouds
Would you watch me there, as I float about?
Too much work
Too little outcome
As if trying to hold water in a fork
And the worst is yet to come.
I rush here, I rush there
But the roads I take lead nowhere.
Everybody asks for more care
And nobody tries to be fair.
When can my mind have some peace?
When can my body have some rest?
Will my worries ease and decrease
And will everything turn for the best?
No worries
No apologies
I’m just being me
You’ll never see
The spin of the game you play
The pain and the blame you lay
Upon me for years
Along with the tears
You gift me words that uplift
You try to lift me up when I’m pissed
For sure, love can be torture
I’m your cure to simply endure
The trials you’ve been through
Overcome the waves of cruel rue
Out of the blue,
I’m in a blur with you
It’s all done and true
You haven’t a clue
What you did to me too…
It’s the things you do…
A sense of belonging
Never made me take wing
It’s everything…
It’s the hope you and I bring up and it’s the faith in my heart to simply sing!
No worries,
But I have worries
I want to be at ease
So please…
Let me hit the breeze
Your love is my disease
No worries
I’m a little lost and the sinking sand is beyond my knees
I seek you like a rat does to cheese…you’re such a tease…
I’m unapologetically at ease
So, no worries for me, no more worries!
Odd thoughts ramble in place of sleep,
I need a shotgun, not counting sheep,
to make night-time dread
snore with the dead,
if slumber will ever be mine to keep.
No illusions therein entrap—
the hush between two heartbeats speaks too plain.
Ego craving is a mousetrap.
A gap—a gape in thoughts my life couldn’t hide;
betwixt two ponderings, vacuum took no side.
There lie all worries, begging for breakthroughs,
where failure stands as bold as decent news.
When steps grow firm, they clear illusion’s threat,
for success occludes failures without sweat.
A garden: fortunes wilt in stillness of will,
even when mouths flourish with joy and thrill.
Then ego becomes the song of deceit,
with beliefs failure can’t withstand its feat.
Before long, a cry too strong to ignore
becomes the downfall life has witnessed before.
It drags pride down through shining polished board
until the mud returns what it ignored:
the taste of joy, the scent of broken clay,
the mirror that ego couldn’t keep at bay.
Storm Within Me
Dusky clouds
Gather within me,
Blazing thunderbolts,
Where weird worries spin and bounce
Like storm gusts.
All such clouds
Will shortly dwindle,
Wild winds will soon wane,
New hopes and dreams will then bloom
With new sun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
green reeds softly sway
sunlight paints the willow trees
cares drift, fall away
My worries lies in the smiles I fake
The laughter that is inflicted with pain
The tears I hide
Words I choose not to say
Nights where sleep does not come easy
Days I wish to skip
Thoughts I dismiss
Actions I can’t explain
The anger that is filled within
Coupled with trauma , pain
Will I ever know peace?
Peace ?
That is foreign in my world
With voices that rule that land
Voices that keep me awake at night
That terrorises me
Have I become my own poison ?
What happened to the sunny days?
Calm mornings
Stolen by the voices in my head
My worries lies in my bleeding heart,
yearning for comfort
My worries
I bring you to a place
Where between us
Is time and space
So far away
Though I wish it not
And always ahead a day
This place is loud
It's thunder claps
It's screams in a crowd
It's violent and bold
It's waves crashing
It's fire taking hold
It's quiet and shape
It's a dagger and a blade
It's haunting notes on a harp
It's thoughts screaming
It's silence deafening
It's tears on a cheek gleaming
It's crying all alone
While you are asleep
Pain felt in the bone
We fight alone
With the other's name in mind
But each in our respective home
It's separation across time and space
And somehow we must last
To one day, together, grace the same place
Monocrostic (Birthday of Daniela Tablate)
Last time I saw her, you could feel the autumn breeze
Digging through all these memories of a picture and a thousand words
Remembering all the summers past, with a laugh on this day
Although a mother's worries may seem to go unnoticed
You gave us all someone to look up to all these years
With the silent love two doves could share forever
This is what we all hold onto to, your hand was always there
Raising six from child through every changing season
And, the tears of another sweet sixteen
It was with a gentle touch of a mother's love
You give us all something to believe in
Another photograph will finds its place
There are some things you can't put into words
There might not be a marching band, or banners in flight
Know that the love from all of us, is yours
Let us have, but not fear, problems and worries, they encourage living
