today's mantra

'I'd rather be wrong
knowing I thought for myself
then follow the crowd and be right'
a mantra i live by everyday
the sheep can`t understand
the ones who are a sleep don`t want to understand
but those wide awake know 
and do understand

a quote that looks into the mirror my thoughts:
'united we stand, divided we fall'
I see the divide widen everyday
it looks like society has driven pass the crossroads
and they are driving 
with their eyes tightly closed

the powers are getting their way
            ...control...

TOUCH OF NOCTURNAL VELVET

A cascade, shimmering, of rivulets that undulate,
Metaphor thalassic, richly blending at the pate.
Each silhouette of vitality, speaking with gentle weight,
On shoulders resting, an adornment, delicate.

Where inky depths meet sun-kissed golden thread,
Fair skin and russet lips, a harmony well-bred.
On sloping lids, where emerald hues are spread,
Completing thus, a visage subtly, richly said.

Every filament, a void of deepest night,
Pupils widen, mirroring its stark, endless plight.
Heartstrings tugged by fur of shadowed fall,
Where a blue throb pulses, binding all.

The Power of Words

some words wound and some heal
some words seeping down, hearts steal.
some words hit hard, some deeply cut
some meant to praise, but some to insult.

      some stay inert, dead on the lips.
      some cement cracks, but some widen gaps.
      some serve as balm to those who are broken.
      some, to beautiful relationships, new doors open.

some words comfort, some are aimed to assault.
some, hit hard and pierce like a thunderbolt
God, help me utter words that uplift
use right words at the right time, a gift.

       I know words have the power to heal n' hurt
       to bring joy and tears alike in other’s heart.
       Lord anoint my lips with grace to utter words sweet,
       so that, in others, they would open inlets of delight.

Shattered Timelines of Grief

Grief is an earthquake, sudden and unforgiving,
Splitting the ground beneath your feet,
Turning the familiar into fractured ruin.
It shakes the foundations of who you are,
Toppling memories like crumbling buildings,
Leaving nothing but dust where laughter once stood.
Aftershocks linger in the quiet moments,
A tremor in your chest, a crack in your voice.
You try to rebuild, but the landscape has changed-
The world tilts differently without them in it.
Some days, you step forward, thinking the worst has passed,
Only to stumble as the earth quivers once more,
A song, a scent, a whispered name-
And suddenly the fault lines widen,
Swallowing you whole in a moment’s collapse.
Times move on, but the wreckage remains, 
Slowly, painfully, you clear the rubble,
Learning to build around the gaps,
Knowing the scars will never fade,
But hoping, one day, the ground will hold steady again.
And as the years pass, you realize-
No matter how many walls you raise,
Or how many roads you pave over the broken earth,
You are still standing in the ruins of what once was,
Waiting for a home that will never be rebuilt.

Suddenly the Bird Sings

suddenly the bird sings, quite suddenly, startling
the stranger-to-the-dawn of day; he thinks the bird
is where the bird shouldn’t be; but knowingly,
with amusement, having quite habitually heard
the bird tweet, as the morning sun stretches its wings,
the wife informs the stranger to the waning dusk,
“oh dear husband, the bird sings from the tree,”
but he must widen the slats of the levolor blinds,
to open his eyes, to the world that exists above
his office in the split level basement. where did he think
the melody resounded from - the deck? no,
the great by and by, the bluest sky, the sun’s rays…
its hazy, at best. the mind needs a rest…startled

Altogether

Earth is a beehive , where humanity resides,
Entering through the same door , side by side.
Yet , we dwell in seperate cells , unique and apart,
Individual lives , experiences , and heartfelt starts.

This shared entrance , a common birthright,
Unites us in vulnerability , in morning light.
Though paths diverge , and perspectives widen,
Our interconnectedness remains , like honeycomb within.

Like bees in harmony , we work as one,
Influencing each other , beneath the golden sun.
Each cell a world , each life a tale,
Together forming the hive , without fail.

We are united , we are together as one,
A tapestry woven , with threads of every tone.
Embracing our differences , we find our strength,
In this delicate balance , our humanity takes length.

Memory of Love

to be true to you
all I wanted to do 
be your calm in storms
feathers as you soared

memories of more
memories of horror
ripple a teardrop 
crimson covers it all

all I know is rage and pain
pours through clenched teeth 
the planet took you from me
and I wanted them to feel 
the same thing I felt — misery 

darkness and anguish 
I became something abnormal 
a freak of poetry — poetess they label me
and I turned around — eyes widen in disbelief

the world behind me burning 
people in flames screaming/crying
welts levee to drip with a splash 
as I crumble to my knees in ash

too late to go back
I will make this right

villainous hero of the nighttime

Deep as ocean

It was raining outside
a girl was crying inside
Everyone thinks she is a rock
No one knows silence is dangerous as dark

Eyes are deep as ocean
Something in it is hidden
What we know about its motion
dark  is more, silence widen

It was humid outside
But she was lonely inside
Everyone was as a pair
No one thinks she needs a care 

She was weak, trying to be strong
Everything was like a storm
Sailors could not survive
She is trying to dive

her other love is kelce

Taylor and Travis ain't hidin'
She's voiced her first choice is Biden
Though Joe looks ancient
Fans know he's patient
Yet swiftly his odds to win widen

Son Of God

Lok at me, and look at me again,
do look again, now look deep within
I smile through tears, I bear all your pain!

trust in me and let me wash your sins,
cross I carry is of your burden
blood you see is your blood through my skin!

path I walk on are hardship laden,
the lashes that cut me hate smitten,
I take pain so your visions widen!

from the day the apple was bitten,
evil has coursed through all of your lives,
I come to redeem thee, it’s written!

lashes bite like million bees from hives,
they may crucify me high with nails,
trust in god for he takes what he gives!

be amongst you ever in spirit,
look at me, and look at me again,
reborn, see me in each child there is,
I smile through tears, I bear all your pain!

Divorce 2

Death of a marital relationship is painful.
I pray that I never encounter such pain.

Indivisible is replaced by splitting, by divisible.
Like mercy trumps judgment, may unity prevail.

Voices of love were exchanged for myriads of questions.
May our Lord invade our lives with practical answers.

Opportunities and dreams have turned into nightmares.
May doors of opportunity widen and our dreams reappear.

Relationships after divorce do not have to be resentful and distant.
Let failure become a springboard to future success.

Children's interests must be paramount and highly considered.
Self-interests must take a backseat to our children's interests.

Ending a marriage does not end with the signing of papers, and
Romantic love need not destroy the flames of the love of God.

Komorebi Tourist in Paradise

Tradewinds strummed the cocoa nutter's palm fingers
the sun crept down to its packed trunk
overburdened routes tangled tunnels underground
the sun snuck below through the subtropic shaft 
a sunny chamber secrets rays gaping droplets 
friendly fronds fingering the sun's gaps as palms' breadth widen
cavernous collapses as sunlight escapes
shadows were the only victims that were claimed
the noontime sun dims over paradise
solar eclipse is a harbinger
light dims life ominously
the betrayed-winds cease
palms fronds dangling
eclipse ends the sun's suspend
eve befriends supine palms read
groves of palms with their trunks all packed

Divorce

Divorce is rarely a triumph, falling apart as a curse.  
Indulging stable tension with your child referees.
Venture a long divorce, privacy in public courts.
Ostensible sets and claims, serve to widen the gap.
Relationship ending in bitter is such a sad event.
Children's hearts are broken forever,
Essay to gather pieces, start over, your kids in pain.

White Daisy Orchard

Amidst spotless linen rosebuds
I observe you blazing a fire
In the core of a volcano's lair
slithering
glissading
laughing
Queen of the Sun,
Queen of Earth
angels shielding you with their wings
to quench one's thirst
for my vital breath.

A warm deluge of your embrace,
sets my skin into full bloom-
a mellifluous anemone aroma,
and marigold of whimsey bloom
wandering to my cynosure edge
the scorching primeval route;
you leave lush roots for our offspring 
to nurture demesne orchards.

On the sands of your sunken tracks,
where conflate ponds
xerox the gleam of fire;
and trees widen limbs,
to embosom
sapphire sky for spring
and descry a year's cornucopia,
of succulent, velvety fruit.

Mirage

In darkness, each ache 
adds to an outline 
of your inhabited shape.
Whatever is left over
that is not body 
claws from the inside 
trying to get out.

In the end
you settle for hole 
in the mind, perhaps 
finding a quiet hollow 
in the walls of an evening,
a place overlooking a river
where its waters widen
into a blissful sleep.

Though, 
this is never enough,
a mere substitute 
as when words fly off 
in search of meaning
and briefly catch the sun
on the turn
of their outstretched wings
only to collapse
into a watery mirage 
strung across the horizons 
of yourself.
