Luna rises high
into an ebony sky,
as bats begin to fly.
Silence seeks sounds to amplify;
and while crickets comply,
Luna rises high.
Mating fireflies nearby
start flashing lights that mystify,
against ebony sky.
Warranting a sigh,
wolves howl and cry;
as bats begin to fly.

November came in downright quiet
Scorning seasons who bring a riot
Thanksgiving would come fast,
Scrumptiousness at long last,
Warranting you’d go on a diet
Sun shining bright in sweet November
Causing souls to surely remember,
Thanksgiving brings delights,
Sweetness in tiny bites,
Bellies eager to meet December

The unable to coordinate things,
Harshly left by a faculty with wings:
The clearly heard now have doubtful rings:
Mostly to a lousy idea clings…
For familiar role long awkward delays,
Even if some helper fresh guides relays:
The closest monitoring or he strays,
Head on which Man of God healing hands lays…
One won’t be right to tag him the aimless
But certainly a ship damned rudderless;
His completed actions not meaningless
But sure makes their seekers more helpless…
Candidate facing tough exam questions,
The compulsory stiff also the options,
One who had earned strange marks from the well done,
The betrayed still weighing a need for gun…
God’s devotee sadly having setbacks,
Owner of steely safe another hacks…
Every man at some point turns the confused,
At such moments sleep to be not refused;
When length it secures a psychiatric case
Warranting loud pleas to God for Grace.

I can no longer keep up,
your steps far outpace mine.
My gait is now
barely a notch up
from a shuffle. My feet ache.
I watch you bound off
into the distance, powering
yourself towards some set goal
that clicks the kilometers over
until your mark is reached
and you come back.
My distance is meager,
measured within the circumference
drawn around a seat,
a vantage point warranting a stop
to take in the view. I sit
and survey the places I've been
and imagine places where
I would like to go but now,
never will. My thoughts float
the river and ride the tides
going out and then
coming in.
We stroll back,
you slowing your stride
to stay in lock with mine,
the distances we each walk
getting further
and further apart,
yet after all this time,
we still arrive home together,
as we did at the start.

Great performance on the piano
And it gave her a Murano.
Last year, it was her soprano
And it grabbed the wealth of Ono.
Now wears Japanese Kimono,
As if there's no tomorrow
In their still quite safe Comorro
But with kimono not Chinese,
Let alone by half Nipponese.
Soon shall she be in Kampala
To perform but meet Impala...
Life warranting testimony
And she'll make it Antimony

Ted doesn’t like his past.
He has yet to think fast:
Clear not shadowy past,
Lies warranting a blast…
Plain Butcher for Doctor
Poor Loser as Victor
Roles that rolled on to jail,
Court’s Ruling to not fail…
Flags we’d fly at half mast
For Heroes who did last;
Ted was The Damned Miscast:
World of Drama’s Outcast!
Ted to break with his past,
Witnesses now aghast:
They’d say he was A Quack,
Qualifications did lack
Worse mention The Buried:
Three Happily Married…
“I come Afghanistan!
First, meet Face Surgeon, Stan."

It is a business truth
And transformer of lenders into Ruth
Who have been infamous Shylock
Or a hesitant safe with lock ...
A borrower to soften his voice
And watch its magic
By far more helpful than a cobra’s poise
Or Insistent Logic;
A lender’s lost key to his savings booth
Quietly warranting a hammer or Jaguar’s tooth
The voice of the badly broke
When penury has begun to choke
Should be often tender
To the rescuing lender
The broke an unconditional blender
For the service lender has to render.

Very few remember to giggle
And their waists wriggle,
When they should’ve been hissing
Over The Unhappily Missing:
Very few with their fingers still describing Victory,
In dumbfounding defiance of a frustrated history…
Warranting deafening bangs on a table
Of one badly wanting ‘The stable’.
Thinking have I been of Endurance,
That to a sufferer is some assurance,
That he shall later his big dreams witness
And testify to The Lord’s Goodness!
Picturing have I been a Labour Room
With expectant mothers envisioning doom…
They must themselves arm with Endurance,
If they are to win the waiting punishment
Fulfilling smiles flashing of this assurance
To clean come out, not a slight impairment.

Angels altruism all around
Beyond beautiful blessings
Creating, captivating, charming
Determining dreams decorum
Enlightening energy exclusively
Forever feeling freedom’s flow
Growing grace glows gradually
Happiness healing heavenlies
Imagination instilling inspiration
Jasmine jokingly jovial joyousness
Keeping kindness kindled keenly
Love lighting liquid labors lamp
Miracles mystifying mysteries mind
Newness noticing nice, normal naivety
Observing open obsessions obscurities
Praising peaceful presences phenomena
Quietly quivering, quoting quests
Remembering rich, radiant rainwaters
Still, small songbirds soothing serenity
Truths told to testify tremendous types
Understanding united under ultimatums
Vulnerabilities vibrating vehemently
Warm welcomes warranting wishes

At one fleeting imperative instant in my stretched journey of life
I had to wage a war.
At stake my ordained short life
A war warranting its stretch some scarce second more
My adversaries rallied their troops quickly than I blinked
Readied the battleground and at me thunderously called out
It was my war nonetheless I needed allies.
On my right stood my friends.
What was left of the right, my foes.
I could only choose a faction.
I went with my foes.
For I knew their inner thoughts and real intentions towards me.
For if they decided to change
Then my luck at play were new friends
My abandoned friends though
If at any moment in waging the war were to change
I will only achieve the three last letters of friend in my life,
End.

An outsider required, to maintain relations
Reasons of difference, bonds of similarity
Joy felt, compensating for years of hollowness
Blood thickens, only through supplement.
Spoken lies laughed off, through mockery
Signs of clarity, distorted by unwilling eyes
A voice of reason, silenced by replacement
Brewing frustrations, releasing green steam.
A day of deprivation, reminding of dependence
Electronic addiction, silencing conversations
The nurtured norm, altered by a temporary presence
Consequential traits excused, through lavish gifts.
Ties that unwind, a stranger feeding a cohesive pretense
A penniless son, warranting no affection from his father.

HAVEN
By Tom Brown
Issues...
Never once the good coming into the bad but the bad slowly becoming good
Evolving from one into the other like a seesaw of drama and reality
Varying only by what it is now
Every time hitting just as hard
Ripping into my soul only to heal itself over the hard times
Questions from before become questionable
Usually leading to more confusion
Initially meant to ease the mind but becomes
The never ending cycle of life
In this time my will is tested
Judgment swings it's hammer in due time
Used solely to set me free from one hell and
Soaring into what could be another
Time consuming hole in which I may not return from...but
Faith is
Only giving me the drive to continue
Life is a test inside another
Looking from the outside inward
Only to test me further and
Warranting me my chance at something better in the future
Maybe my life has more meaning than I thought
Yet I still find myself tested
Hopefully I can still go on
Eventually the tests will end
And my efforts to survive this will be noticed
Rewarding me my freedom
Then maybe I can find what I've always been searching for...
