Premium MemberThe Picture

The Picture on the wall , hanging
almost half a Century back !
      A family photograph
taken next to my wedding day :
Once so valuable, now turned purposeless.
Getting faded, lacking polish , losing charm.

      Photo showing parents and Grandma
       with newly married bride- groom.
Every one in jolly mood and fresh looks.
       Bright bride now approaching eighty.
       Rest members have passed away.
Old lady and the picture on the wall
         are still existing .

Old lady to expire soon :
        Children are settled abroad.
Residence will be sold at earliest.
        The picture will settle in
         the trashbin.

Old Habits

The day after Christmas
Each year, without fail,
I hunt down my calendars
Since they're on sale.

I head to the bookstore
And search through the racks
For the wall-hanging ones
Then I look through the stacks

Of the page-a-day versions;
I purchase both kinds
And I won't leave until
I'm content with my finds.

Could I buy them before
And the sales disregard?
Well, the answer's "Of course!"
But old habits die hard.

Ameliorate

I don't want flowers
You know I grow my own
I don't want bull**** wall hangings
To put on my home
I want my soul to be watered
And treated like a flower
And instead of a wall hanging how about YOU actually
"Enjoy the little things" now wouldn't that be amazing
I don't want a card. I'd rather just be held
Not your gifts out of sorry!
That were thrown down near me.

You came back home with hallmark
Material doesn't mean a thing to me when
First thing in the morning
Laying in bed, you left
I still could hear you yelling in my head
Mother's Day is hell

So I held my babies
I gave the flowers to my daughter
She put the hanging outside
I didn't open up the card
I wiped the tears that I cried
We made beautiful cards for our neighbors
We laughed and we smiled
My children are my life
So I'm celebrating with them
Never going to let a man
Make me feel this low again
I'm supposed to feel appreciated
And I do by my kids, so guess what
I still win.

No matter what you're going through
Hold your children tight
Be a happy momma and don't pretend. Show them
Everything's going to be alright. <3

Invocation

INVOCATION

Echo of the ringing bells
Flying across the valley
Through the forest canopy
And rush in the misty sky
To kiss the blue mountain range
Entreaty move towards from the sanctum
Follow the twisting sound of bells
And conceal the
murmuring wishes of devotees
Incantation deemed all requests
Supplications based on diverse aspirations

Devotees scrutinized the orator
And they see the red costumes
and gleaming gold like ornaments
Worn by the orator
But the powerful benevolent god
Disguised beyond the blue wall hanging
Broken love, family unrest, lost of valuables
To be found
And aspirations that does not fulfil yet
For a better livelihood
Punish those who loot valuables
Oblations and offerings place in the orator’s hand
The effect of the results unquestionable
Thus devotees are satisfied
And return dreaming the future success
Orator too satisfied about the god’s share

Portait Fantasy

PORTRAIT FANTASY

Some say
You are nothing
To their searching eyes
You're just another painting

Others more logical
Go on commenting
Oh, you can decorate,
What a nice wall hanging!

But for me, oh dear
You're larger than living
Believe me, My auricles take the strain
Of your continuous dangling

That's why my love
I succumb to guarding
Your svelte yet curvy vitals
Sitting and watching

He Is Mad

Once asked who is mad
So creatively said medical doctor
It's him a real mad fellow
Who easily gets out of a locked prison room
Through the picture of an open door
Painted on the stone brick wall.
He then pays dearly for thick porridge
Together to eat with steaming beef stew
Beautifully painted on canvas wall hanging
In exclusive five star city hotel.
But really not mad all the same:
The man just too sane
In a small world where
Things are very real.

Dart Board

Like a dart board
I can handle a good game
I get pierced
Sliced
Torn down
Many exert their frustrations
From the world
This place

I'm medieval
I love watching battle
Each dart thrown
A spectacle of madness tackled

I'm always on the wall
People constantly stare
In desperate need of dough
Place bets on me, do you dare?

I'm shaped like an onion,
I can be smelly
But very attractive
Although I appear shallow
My layers can bring out your best
Our relations are always 50/50
If it were any other way
You'd just look at me
I'm at the wall hanging solitaire

Premium MemberA Hanging Divinity

~Hanging in there is divine,
   Feline, representative of wholeness,
   Feline of fancy,  I remind;
my Overalls be the proof of boldness,
my wall hanging is proof of goal-quest.

~Though proof is faulty at best,
duress not easy for one to concur.
   Be patient as I confess;
though overall position hides Monsieur,(my lord)
divine, divinity is clear, ‘bonsoir!(good evening)
