THE BOX
All the things I must have lost
Seem to be here now, in this box
Made of cardboard, not a chest
Some toys that I once possessed
But one stands out among the rest
I must admit, it was a cuddly fox
Abandoned at great emotional cost
He still had that sweet crazy look
As if not sure which way was up
Yet he was not classically vulpine
But it always was our special sign
As a favourite pet he was all mine
Not an adult fox, more like a pup
But those big eyes, was all it took
On holiday, in my parent’s SUV
We broke down, renting another
I saw it was towed away, I’m sure
My fox left unnoticed on the floor
I’d never been without him before
And I wondered if I’d ever recover
But now he’s back, did he miss me

If I search through old memories, shaking dust from visions long filed away, I can see scenes from my childhood. Whenever I am feeling old, I pull a few out, polish them up, and put them in a frame for a while. A constant rotation of nostalgia. They hang on the walls of my skull, eight by eleven and a half inches of glass reflecting the early morning sunlight that pours through my ears.
The vision that hangs behind my forehead now shows me a scene of green and orange on a field of sandy, shell-shocked earth.
The fox lived in that great floral house long before we moved in. From our deck, its joints creaking with each small step I took, I watched him check off things from his to-do list–grocery shopping, security checks, singing lullabies and other sweet songs to his children. We weren’t friendly neighbors per se, I never learned his name, but we coexisted well enough. From certain angles, he would look up through slatted wood and chitter an amicable ‘hello’ as he walked off in search of breakfast.

the rapture
Each story fell to the ground
feathers were collected
in the die-off different colours
prismed in the silver dust
of moon eclipsing sun
the in-between time
where the sky parted
like torn curtains
the Grimoire words
flew off the page
into the aether
black keys fed
to speak golden spells
bringing life back screaming
from the black open caverns
of the banished and repelled
bit-by-bit the brimstone cracks
and sparks from the depths of death
the mortal substance skerrick,
near to invisible but heard
for what it is now, seraphim
3 sets of wings, rolls off the emptiness
in echoing tears the becoming breaks
through waves rapturefarious
collecting immortal strength
from the deep ink pockets of dark
mined mind firmly set concrete
and contracted in the fires of hell
the phoenix rises like a raptor
its beating heart lit

Vulpine woven soft nest
Velvet silky lamb's ear
Velvety smooth to touch
Velveteen feel to squab
Volumes of suppleness line
Vaguely feels like duck down
Very soon ventures start
Vulpine-usually refers to fox/foxes who are crafty, cunning
Lamb's ear- the plant
Squab- baby doves/pigeons
I am talking about the dove's nest lining

In the beginning this boat was bare,
Greenest with infant's sinless stare;
Before soles more selfish than sane
Had trodden its dreary derelict main.
First to blacken its still-tiptop form
Were kith and kin as is sin's norm;
For if brother Cain won't Abel kill,
Which other bloodier maniac will?
Then hopped wild neighbors' feet
Onto this boat's floor sterile neat;
And like schythes thrust to the hilts,
Hurt this bud that yet writhing wilts.
Nor were classmates' limbs and toes
Any kinder to this vessel's prior woes;
Hasty to sprain its ingenuous naiveté,
Sterner kilning did than fire dealt clay.
There finally was that first-ever flame,
Wooled to the wrist like a mild dame;
Which vulpine swill in flannels guised
Took I, and at last this boat capsized!

Gleaming wager’s chart spells filmy odds
And tip triers to toss wee mites for more;
To forfeit modicums of ground for vaster
Acres wider than the fabled Midas shore.
No curse greater than lost chances fair
Baked and gilded to enchant and deke,
Verily sure-win swoops altered mid air;
Glittering talismans foiled in their peak!
Each day under Fortune’s ogling suns,
Gambles’ lusting eyes dreamingly leer
At the cyclically winding mill of chance,
Heavy with sudden wealth's fetish fear.
Even now swift-tossed coins fruitless go,
Innumerable ages after the maiden shot;
And any flopping dice still wouldn’t count,
Till Bill’s vulpine wads trickle in in a draw.
Millions of eons past nature's trite element,
Odds will be spelled and big wins still bent.

For fiercest queens, the finest pedigree,
Begetter and bestower of all lauds;
For foulest plagues, the fairest remedy,
Despoiler and destroyer of all frauds.
Revered for rectitude, renowned for laurels,
You helped reform the world to honest fame;
Reviled as sinister, renounced on morals,
The world deformed you to mendacious shame.
Now candid trade’s betrayed by blackened graft,
And harmless wit’s harangued by hurtful wile,
And simple skill’s arraigned by compound craft,
And vulgar pride's maintained by vulpine guile.
The grossest lies all get averred for gain
Since humblest truth became impugned and slain.

Once my valentine, now gone just like my waistline
Remember the hours we spent on line, computer philistines
Those sunny, Sunday afternoons when boating on the Serpentine
Through all your thoughtful deeds, you were my libertine
Freedom from the bloodline that ended in the brine
We dined on food and the fruit of the vine
The oysters, the sparkling stuff, so fine the wine
So resplendent in your vulpine stole, oh clandestine figurine
Once feminine with classy ways now sitting so benign........

Yeah you are so unique,
Walking down the street oblivious of you conceited stench,
Different you say, irreproducible, pish posh,
You walk with self entitlement,
Loathing the people on the street begging for change,
Cynical of there intentions,
Expecting them to have a vulpine scheme to overthrow your thrown,
But do they not bleed, or cry? Animals you say? Where are there cages?
You would rather them have nothing,
So you can admire yourself with your accomplishments, but what really is accomplished?
Nothing for you are unhappy you and live off the sorrow of others,
Unique you say? I see kinds like you every day.

Robust Vulpine is cruising vigorously
To denude a life and continue slavery
Proudly displaying his name of foul entity
Afraid not of his blasphemy
From time to time he is very gluttonously
Sweet foods for the sinners were eaten constantly
Voices from nowhere were weeping frantically
Yet he managed to laugh at much monstrously
"Help" was the shout of voices anonymously
For a number of sheep were killed unpitily
Taken off their hearts and skin so mercilessly
And wear the sheep's jacket for another journey
Villains will succeed in anyway now badly
That never get jaded in any play madly
Abused the creator's being imprudently
For the way that he acted, to God he was angry
Whatever crop he sow, he will reap exactly
Worm-wood will come to his presence so much timely
So inevitable hundred times painfully
That he'll remember the pains tearfully

It was that of a ride.
That of a lady by the side to which caught the eye.
That of her toes that was red to the color.
As she was the most beautiful on the ride.
Her hair long and wavy as her smile lights the room.
Her body was that of an young vulpine as I experience it first hand.
As we sat and I rubbed her feet for hours on end.
That time went by like the year that passes.
Passing like that of the seasons as my mind wonders.
Wondering what it would be like to hold her tight.
It wasn't that we weren't close but there was distance in between.
As I felt my heart melting from a distance.
I know some how we connected but not knowing?
Knowing, rather we would see each other again.
I dream of the day at hand.
As I think of if, I could just pull her close.
How I would never want to let go.
But it was more then just that.
It was the love two had shared with the twingle of an eye.
But it was more then any could replace.
Because it was done from a love deep inside.
