The Rapture

the rapture

Each story fell to the ground
feathers were collected
in the die-off different colours
prismed in the silver dust
of moon eclipsing sun
the in-between time
where the sky parted
like torn curtains
the Grimoire words
flew off the page
into the aether
black keys fed
to speak golden spells
bringing life back screaming
from the black open caverns
of the banished and repelled
bit-by-bit the brimstone cracks
and sparks from the depths of death
the mortal substance skerrick,
near to invisible but heard
for what it is now, seraphim
3 sets of wings, rolls off the emptiness
in echoing tears the becoming breaks
through waves rapturefarious
collecting immortal strength
from the deep ink pockets of dark
mined mind firmly set concrete
and contracted in the fires of hell
the phoenix rises like a raptor
its beating heart lit

The heart's broken shell...indeed, the soul encased till true enlightenment, not a knowledge but grace.

“If you live in the dark a long time and the sun comes out, you do not cross into it whistling. There's an initial uprush of relief at first, then-for me, anyway- a profound dislocation. My old assumptions about how the world works are buried, yet my new ones aren't yet operational. There's been a death of sorts, but without a few days in hell, no resurrection is possible.” Mary Karr, Lit

interesting, I'll have to look into the Veda's diagnosis for eating one's own heart ... it probably induces one to write more poems, which is reminiscent of that story, "The Red Shoes"...

The unforgiving night is ourselves...truth bears no condemnation, needs no witness other than presence.

“She died--this was the way she died; And when her breath was done, Took up her simple wardrobe And started for the sun. Her little figure at the gate The angels must have spied, Since I could never find her Upon the mortal side.” Emily Dickinson

Brilliant! One of the best minds and spirits of poetry. People admire her, but few even on the surface can comprehend her mind, nor should they try to approach her depth and height of brilliance without very dark sunglasses.

“Tell a wise person, or else keep silent, because the mass man will mock it right away. I praise what is truly alive, what longs to be burned to death.

Don't care what mass man thinks; and bless those who live, transforming the old knowing there is no other way if to have wings of enlightenment. From the dust of petals roses return fresh despite their laurels of thorns. When stepping from the ledge of blossom, the soul is given wings and soars for eternity.

In the calm water of the love-nights, where you were begotten, where you have begotten, a strange feeling comes over you, when you see the silent candle burning.

Now you are no longer caught in the obsession with darkness, and a desire for higher love-making sweeps you upward.

Distance does not make you falter. Now, arriving in magic, flying, and finally, insane for the light, you are the butterfly and you are gone.

And so long as you haven't experienced this: to die and so to grow, you are only a troubled guest on the dark earth.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
